When I check the "show pointer location" box in the developer options the value for size is always 0.0
On every other device the getSize method returns a value other than zero. Surfing the net I found old threads with the same problem but no solution. Is it possible to get a size value from the galaxy tab 2? maybe with a custom rom? I realy hope so because otherwise I am in real trouble. ( I need it for a very important project at work)

I ha´ve to change my DEVICENAME to Another one. I use an Application that Requires the Original Rom Name, but i wont use the Original Rom. Can Anybody help me. I think the Application ist looking for the Name in:
Start/Settings/System/Deviceinformation/Identity/Modell-Nr.

model number is not the device name. look at start > settings > system > about > device id > device name. some programs like themissingsync or using bluetooth or whatever rely on device name but i dont think model number matters for anything.

No, sorry. But this is not what i want. I have to change the realy Devicename. I think it comes with the Rom.
You can find the Name 2 Lines over the IMEI (same field).
Maybe it is written in the "ModelName.txt" in the Windowsfolder. But I can´t change the Name (it is in the Rom and not possible to change).

I just got this 7" Android Tablet from eBay with the following info:
Model name: MID (M 70003)
the following is from the settings section "About Device":
Firmware Version: 1.6
Kernel version: 2.6.29-00236-g4f8dbbb-dirty ... (??!)
Build number: 1.7.2
The device seems to work ok but the thing is that it displays on the top left screen's corner in red color the phrase "Demo Purpose Only" ... (which drives me mad since it's in all screens ! ... everywhere, always on, no matter what screen I look at !) and I really need to get rid of it).
Does anyone know how can I do that ? ... i.e. could I flash again Android's previous version 1.5 (instead of the 1.7 it now has in) as it looks like something is going on with its "licenses validation", will this solve the problem or is there another much easier way ? Could I also upgrade to the latest Android versions beyond 2.0 ?

I knew that, but there the version is a sequence of only numbers and not comparable with this format I8700XXKC1 XXKB2 (for example). However my is 2424.10.10.5 .

My phone was SHW-M110S desperately looking for upgrade to 2.3.6
first i downloaded & used Samsung ROM, which looks just a base version & i was unable to see IMEI no (*#06#) it always says UNKNOWN APPLICATION, + other minor annoying issues , then i started checking every ROM mentioned below link

finally when i installed "BBANANA WF07 Ultimate Edition" Really nice , i could simply see my IMEI no & also has better look, really this ROM is strongly recommendable ( it is not only just fast but has little Chinese/Korean default applications )
But, one small thing like,
in top slider i do see "Data" "WiFi" enable/disable symbols , but those does not look working as intended
meaning if i wanted to enable "Data" 3G internet i should go to "Settings ->3G data Call Settings -> Enable/Disable"
Is there any fixed version of this available ?

i have a modecom freetab 9000 ips icg. i'm going to update it from 4.2.2 to 4.4.2 (the autoupdate function doesn't see the update... strange!)
but, i also want to have my tablet rooted for real this time (currently in some applications it says 'this device is rooted', but i cant find supersu anywhere, nor can i use root functions.
since i first check what i'm doing, i ran through the flash.xml file that should be loaded in the intel manufacturing flash tool (MFT for now), and already saw some stuff i wouldn't desire to be, like the default language settings on polish and so forth so i changed everything (language, locale, dateformat set to dd/MM/yyyy, and my timezone)
now i saw all these options and i thought there must be more then just this; i must also be able to install extra software one way or another... and YES; MFT supports up to 10 apk's you can install additionally after flashing your device with the option "additionalAPKx" where x is 1 to 10 if you have set the option to enable the developers settings on your device...
Now; i want to install supersu with this option through MFT, but i'm looking for the optionname of the developer settings (like; ro.developer = "true") but i can't seem to find it...
So if anyone knows the optionname of the developer settings (and optionally 'install from unknown sources') this would greatly help me forward in my test.
if this works; then we have found another great, and EASY way to root devices with the original bootloader & rom still in place... except off course if this is already tested and found not to be working ...
