Viper rom 3.1.0 Beats audio missing - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

Let me start off by saying I am not completely sure where to post this.
I currently flashed my phone with Viper rom 3.1.0 for my HOX AT&T.
It works great but i have come to find one problem, my speaker doesnt work on anything but speaker calls not movies or music. Resaon being is that it states the beats audio was not found.
I installed this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...ng.beats&hl=en but i found my phone soundless not even a peep.
So then i tried this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1692233 flashed it into my phone and still no sound.
So I reflashed my phone with the same rom and option doesn't seem to be available.
Has anybody faced this problem and if so has anybody gotten to a solution?
I tried using the Cyanogen 10.1 which works great but mobile data connection keeps dropping constantly forcing me to move to airplane mode and back to get data working again.
Any help appreciated.

Have you tried using cm10 or AOKP roms?

Did you do a full wipe (factor reset, wipe cache, wipe Dalvik, all in TWRP, not in bootlaoder) when you flashed? Also, don't restore any system data with Titanium (or similar backup apps). Might be a silly suggestions, although it doesn't hurt to state the (seemingly) obvious.
Wouldn't hurt to re-download ViperXL and re-flash.
You might also try to reboot into Safe Mode, just to make sure its not a 3rd party app that is causing the problem. Safe Mode is similar to button sequence for bootloader, except start pressing the vol down right after the white boot splash screen comes up. The phone will appear to boot normally, but you will see "Safe Mode" in the corners of the screen at all times. You will also not have any access to any installed apps.
I'm on ViperXL 3.1.0, and haven't experienced any such issues with the speaker or Beats on my AT&T One X. So I'm suspected its just a bad flash, or some 3rd party app causing the issue.

Phone goes into DEAD SLUMBER on Speaker or Bluetooth calls

Alright, no one has any answers for this specific question and I've searched.
Here's the rundown.
Phone was previously installed with AOSP Inspired RC1 Rom. There was a function to "reject call" with Power button. I selected that but then decided I was going to switch roms.
Installed Ginger Beast, did the necessary "wipe Dalvik cache" and other wipes in ClockWorkMod through Rom Manager. Rom is working fine EXCEPT during SPEAKER or BLUETOOTH calls. It goes into a deep sleep and no other button works to wake the phone up. Holding Menu doesn't do anything and I tried the "keep screen awake longer" and that doesn't do crap.
Could I have somehow not erased a previous setting from the other rom and now I'm doomed until I do a Full Wipe (i initially thought all the wipes in ClockWork were full wipes ie, Dalvik and the rest)?
This bothers me because I can't use the phone for anything else when I'm in "hands free" mode. I can't go into the phone menus, browsers and I'm stuck on the call with a Black screen and the ONLY thing I can do is hit Power which ends the call..... Rather rude to the recipient but that's all I have. I don't have the same problem when I use the regular phone speaker and hold it like a phone.
HELP ME !!!
Do a full wipe thru recovery and install the rom. I think if you try to use Rom manager it doesn't do a full wipe.

This is true, rom manger does not do a full wipe.
Ok, I was just told by the ever helpful member, marsdta to check the accessibility option menu in Settings and uncheck "Power button ends call"
If only I'd known it was there. (duuh) I'll post the result for this fix.
Problem solved !!
Interesting news about Clockwork not doing full wipes. What about those fullwipe zip files out there. I read that it interferes with certain Roms. I wonder why....
Glad i was able to help. I never knew that setting existed on gingerbeast until today when went into every setting i could. you learn something new everyday

Display / menus freezing and / or disappearing, system apps force closing

I've been searching this form for an hour or two now and still haven't found my issue, so here goes.
Just got an HTC Inspire 4G off of ebay and it arrived today.
The seller had mentioned that the phone was freezing / rebooting, but I figured.. that's because he's not running cm7, right?
Charged and booted up the phone and it turns out that the problem was a little worse than I first expected. I only experienced occasional freezing, and it only rebooted once, but there is a worse problem.
The phone loaded up fine, looked good, but tapping around on the home screen I got messages alerting me that system apps (htc sense, launcher, and even com.android.phone) had stopped responding or had shut down.
I hit the menu and go to settings. I scroll down the list and the entire list goes black. I hit home and it goes to a home screen, but with no launcher or icons. Basically, every few taps, the interface goes out. If you are on a menu it blacks out, if you are at home or press home after the menu blacks out you will get anywhere from pieces of icons / widgets to just a blank desktop. The live wallpaper even keeps going, but all of the interactive stuff quits. The disappearing menus didn't usually give app closed messages, they just went black. The home screen only gave app closed messages sometimes.
I thought this was a software problem, so I managed to root the phone and flash cm7. Everything booted good, but it still had the same problem of weird disappearing menus and home interfaces. I went ahead and flashed gapps and got the little intro thing about setting up my Inspire 4g that starts when you first boot your phone. I clicked through that but when it gets to connect wifi, the phone entirely freezes and I have to pull the battery.
I flashed inspiremod and nothing changed, tho that's for something else, so I'm not sure that's entirely relevant, but I was trying everything I could think of.
I'm definitely no expert on hardware, but it almost sounds like a ram problem, like it doesn't have enough to keep all of the interface going all the time and shuts it down or shuts parts of it down to work.. but I don't want to believe that. I'm really hoping that it's a software problem.
I got the phone at a good price and it came with an otterbox, so I won't be too disappointed if I can't get it fully functional, but it would still be a bummer.
Any help / advice / suggestions appreciated. Thanks, guys!
EDIT: I cleared the cache / dalvik cache before flashing / reflashing cm7, which I did once or twice
EDIT 2: Now if I leave it on the intro screen where it freezes it reboots after a minute or so. Gonna try flashing a different mod.. see if that helps.
That was a long post. But it was good, you gave a lot of info.
The cm7 zip that you downloaded, check the md5 checksum, make sureit matches whatever is in the op (first page) or wherever the md5 is, maybe where you downloaded it from. If it doesn't, download again.
Then,
from recovery,
Wipe data/factory reset.
Wipe dalvik
Format all partitions(except sd card)
Flash zip/rom.
Check if it works. If not, try using it without the sd card. If not, come back and report.

Thanks for the reply and suggestions.
I check the md5, and it's good. I just did a factory reset and wiped cache and dalvik.. I'm unsure what you mean by format all partitions except sd card. I don't think I know how to do this with clockworkmod.
Started up without sd card and it still has the same problem. Looks great until I touch the screen, then everything disappears except the wallpaper.
Reboot in recovery and do it from there. You'll find format all partitions at the bottom... well, maybe. Cwm has an option to reboot in recovery, and I think if you press and hold the power button, select reboot and it will also ask you if you wantto boot into recovery. Cant remember if cm7 has it, it should.
After you wiped those, flash the rom. Stay in recovery and search for fix.permissions. Reboot.

Just did that and re-flashed cm7, but the phone was still having the same problems.
I then repeated the process with a MIUI ICS rom and it seemingly worked for a little bit. I got a "Maps has stopped working" message, but I was able to slide back and forth through the home screens, and the menu came up. After I tapped though the menu a bit it started being weird again, but with MIUI the weirdness is different. It looked like the screen was divided up into 20 something smaller screens tiled across the display with messed up looking bits of screen in them.. weird..
If you are wiping correctly then I am out of ideas. I would say try a GB rom, however that is a strange issue and just might be a hardware problem. Tough, Im not sure.

I've tried cm7, which is 2.3, and I've tried a 4.0.4 MIUI build and one other sense rom that didn't work well at all.
I'm wiping and flashing the same as I did on my LG p509, which works beautifully with cm7.
If it is hardware, hopefully it's something simple like the battery, and not bad RAM or anything serious..
Maybe if I keep at it I'll get it.
Thanks for all the suggestions!
Np. Keep us updated.

I ordered a new battery for it, and that fixed the random reboots, which had been occurring more frequently, but the other problems were still there.
I flashed and re flashed and formatted and reinstalled a bunch, but still no luck. I then decided that I might take it by the local cell phone repair shop and see if they could fix it.
In preparation, I used aahk to flash the stock ruu with everything how it was when I got it. After booting it up, it seemed to be working ok.
I still get the occasional menu glitch, but it's so infrequent it's not an issue.
The phone still freezes up quite a bit when I'm using it, but it's nearly a useable device now!

Have you tried changing out the sd card? Having a bad sd card can cause all inds of odd issues
I booted it without an sd card before and couldn't tell the difference, but it had a lot more issues than just freezing then.
I haven't tried it since those other issues have stopped. I'll try that when I get home from work.

Applications taking forever to load

Basically what I'm experiencing is that at times, I'll click an icon for an app (it doesn't matter which app), and the entire TW launcher will freeze for about 10 seconds, doing nothing. Then, all of a sudden the application will appear and load normally. I've tried wiping normal /cache and Dalvik cache, and nothing helps.
Now when I say it freezes, I don't mean that the app loads and I see a white screen while it does it's normal loading process... what I mean is that I touch the "Twitter" app, and then my home screen completely freezes (I can't swipe to another screen or anything... it's just locked), and then 10 seconds later it decides to load stuff.
Let me say that I don't consider myself a noob. I'm very comfortable flashing ROMs, recoveries, doing nandroid backups, etc. I'm running CleanROM 2.0, and my bootloader is unlocked. I have CWM Touch 6.0.1.2 flashed from ROM Manager. This issue has happened on Synergy, too. AOSP ROMs seem to work just fine. I know it's not related to the TouchWiz launcher, because the same problem happens with Nova, too.
Right now I'm trying Imoseyon's LeanKernel 0.3 beta (non-kexec). Has anyone else experienced this problem? How do you fix it?
I just did. After I setup CPU profiles in ROM toolbox. I've used them before without issue. This time it was as you described. The solution was to reinstall ROM toolbox.
Perhaps you've recently used a program that directly interacts withe the kernel and perhaps its causing you woes

[Q] Notification icons gone after crash

I've got a Samsung Infuse 4G, originally Rogers now on Telus. It's been running ParanoidAndroid 2.53 from scott.hart.bti (build pa_infuse4g-userdebug 4.1.2 JO54K eng.scott.20121104.152548 test-keys) nearly flawlessly for a few weeks. I've installed a few apps (facebook, twitter, wikipedia, imdb, accuweather, etc.) but none recently.
Today, I answered a phone call from my brother, and when I took the phone away from my ear to hang up, it stayed black. I heard the disconnect sound, then it pretty much froze. I powered off to the Power Reset / Debug Mode screen, then rebooted. When it came back on, I'd lost a bunch of my settings, but not all. I currently have been unable to get back my full menu when I long-press the power button - it only has power off and reboot, no airplane mode, no volume, no profile choice (yes, I have configured these options in the settings). Further, my notifications work (ie, sound and vibrate), but the notification icon does not appear.
Anyone have any ideas what I should try? I could reflash and start over, but I'd rather not if I don't have to.
Thanks in advance.
Can anyone comment on whether or not this make be a problem with Trebuchet? Are the problems I mentioned the domain of the launcher, or is it something else? If these things are controlled by the launcher, am I able to reinstall / reset it to possibly fix the problem?
It sounds more like a SystemUI problem than a launcher problem. You can reflash the ROM without losing any data or settings by formatting just the cache partition and /system and also clearing dalvik cache. That will reinstall the ROM without data loss but if the problem persists I recommend a full and complete wipe and reflash.
If you believe it to be a trebucket problem though then download a free launcher replacement like Holo launcher from the store and see if that fixes your problems.

Similar problems with mutliple ROMS - What gets left behind when flashing?

So I've had a few similar problems with recent ROMS i have flashed.
I'd been using CM9 and CM10 for a while, but got tired of lag and bugs. I thought I'd go back to GB for a while and reflash after some bugs had been worked out.
From CM10 odin'd back to GB stock with CWM and root, then installed AEON purely by reputation. That lasted for about a week. The phone had all kinds of issues with the battery. The battery level would often be all over the place (i know this sometimes happens after a reboot.) After a full charge the phone would stay on for about 4-12 hours, and simply turn off. Prior to shutting off the battery would read at 50%+.
Every time the phone shut off like this I could charge it all day and it would not restart. The only way it would start is if i pulled the battery, plugged in the carger and reinserted the battery. Once I did that an empty battery would show up on the screen. However it was not the normal green one with gradients that would show up, but simply a white box showing no charge. If i held down the power button eventually the normal battery charging screen would show up and it would reboot.
I'm assuming the phone was misreading the battery level for some reason. I tried clearing battery stats. No change.
So I thought 'time for a new rom'
I'm not certain if I went back to stock before this.
So from there I went back to CM9 and then to CM10. The battery issues remained, and two new issues arose.
My reception in the notification bar would turn to an empty triangle. It was not a misreport. I could not make calls or access the internet.
Also whenever i went in to airplane mode it would be grayed out in the power menu. It was impossible to turn off airplane mode without restarting.
I'm not on the most recent verison of liquid smooth. The issues remain, but I don't think it's the ROM as others don't seem to be having these issues.
Does anyone know any reason for this?
My understanding of flashing is that it's essentially a list of folders and files that replaces or adds to existing ones on the phone. Does it actually erase anything? Obviously it leaves our simcards and picture files. It also seems to leave app folders.
And just to be clear I wiped user data, cache, fixed permissions, etc. IMEI is still there, so i don't think that's the service issue. I did not restore any apps with titanium backup for similar. Everything was installed from the play store.
Whenever you flashed back to stock, do you happen to flash boot loaders?

I flashed back to GB so I don't think that was necessary. I've not had the other bootloader issues with garbled display, etc.
