I am using Ubuntu to partition my 8GB microSD card. Does it matter which partition is primary, logical, or extended? What should they be?
Hi,
I've done this and both fat32 and ext2 partitions should be primary.
I 1st had the fat32 partition and then added the ext2 partition.
My ext2 partition is 1.4 gb and the fat32 32 is 6.4 gb.
Hope that helps.

I have Ubuntu Linux installed on my MacBook Pro (dual boot). You can download the Live CD for Ubuntu, but Im not sure if you can install applications. I had to install Gparted, a partition manager for linux. Once you install that, run it and pick your SD card. I had my G1 hooked via cable to my laptop. Create the first partition as FAT32 - Primary - whatever size you want, keep between 500MB - 1.5GB free for your EXT2 partition (2nd partition). Click "Apply". Next create the second partition using the leftover space - EXT2 - Primary. Click "Apply". You are done.
Ex. I have a 8GB microSD card
Partition 1 - FAT32 - Primary - 6.5 GB
Partition 2 - EXT2 - Primary - 1.5 GB
HI,
I use windows xp with a program called Paragon Partition Manager.

Hi
Why I can't use the SDcard EXT3 memory to move the application from my phone memory on FastTest v3.0.2 rom as I do on Cyanogen rom? the script files (in system/etc/init.d) are the same as Cyanogen. I use the same SDcard on my 2 Phones (Cyanogen and FastTest), 8Gb class6 - 512 EXT3, 32 SWAP, 7G fat32).
Thanks,
-Guy-
i just purchased a class 10 32Gb micro sd card to compliment this rom.
what would be the best formatting solution? (partition size, # of partitions) recovery gives you the option for 2 ext parts. is that a good idea?
I currently have it at: 1Gb ext, 1 Gb ext2, 512Mb swap & rest at FAT 32 using 4ext recovery.
I have already noticed an increase in speed just installing the card.
thank you
does anyone have any suggestions?

Hello!
My name is Chris and i have a problem.
Here the details:
Bootloader: 10.6.1.14.10
Recovery: TWRP 28.7.2 @area51 KANG
SD Cards: Samsung microSDHC PRO 32GB - partition1 15GiB NTFS, partition2 14,xx GiB EXT4 /data, partition3 1GiB EXT4 /system.
Kingston UHS-I U3 microSDXC 64GB - partition1 30GiB NTFS, partition2 29,xx GiB F2FS
My Goal was to use the Kingston Card for DATA2SD accelerating the internal system and the Samsung Card for ROM2SD to Dualboot.
As Rom i wanted to use Zombi-Pop in both cases.
Before, i had Crombi-KK on internal without DATA2SD and on the Samsung Card with ROM2SD. All worked fine.
I also want to use F2FS on internal paritions (system, cache, date) and on ext_data (Kingston). EXT4 for the ROM2SD system (Samsung; ext_system, ext_data)
I'm pretty sure this configuration has to work.
But since flashing Zombi-Pop the first time I got an infinite booting animation.
So i have a few questions:
Is my planned configuration even possible?
Do i have to flag the system and data partitions on SD Card with gparted as /system and /data?
Do i have to flash the kernel seperately? Usually sbdags ROMs do this but i have the suspicion it is not updated correctly so it is confused with my config? Just a suspicion.
Maybe my partitions are corrupted? Or F2FS is the problem. I formatted all internal partitions and the ext_data of the Kingston Card with TWRP to F2FS. Zombi-Pop then reformats /system to EXT4 and leaves the others be.
I'd appreciate any help from you guys filled with knowledge

I ask myself, why did you think it necessary to start a new thread to ask about this ?
Why did you not ask in the rom thread ?
But if you would like some help, join us on irc, when you get sometime
