[Q] Baked Blackbean 7 - Brightness Slider Option - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

I flashed Baked Blackbean 7 last evening. Everything appears to be working fine, so thanks to the devs for a good AOSP 4.2 rom!
I do miss the brightness slider on the notification page though. I see an option under statusbar settings called "statusbar brightness slider". I've tried turning this on and off, but don't see any change. The description is "whether the statusbar brightness slider is on when you slide across the statusbar".
Does anyone know what this option does? It'd be nice if it was a quick screen brightness control.

from your home screen, press the status bar. slide left for dim, right for brighter.
it takes a few times to get used to it.

Ok, that's what I thought. The problem I was having is that I had auto brightness on.
Just like the slider in notifications in TW, you have to have auto brightness off for the slider to have any effect.
Thanks for the quick response!

np, glad you got it squared away.

[Q] Synergy Rom JB r118 Lock Toggle Issue

Newly created account, cant post to synergy thread in Development.
Loving the ROM, only issue is that I like to toggle off my lock screen at certain time of the day when it becomes a hassle to unlock everytime i need to use the phone.
Lock toggle on eschelon's Synergy JB r118 works great until i select something from the pull down notification bar, like a text message or email.
sequence goes like this:
-lock toggle off, notication comes in
-pull down notification bar, click notification
-lockscreen
-lock toggle is still off, but lock screen and parameters
only works that way, never turns off the lockscreen.
currently using a pin as a lock screen with no slider. have tried with other locks (password, slider, etc) and still same problem. its a small annoyance since most of the time clicking the lock toggle to 'on' and then 'off' works but i figured id try and bring it to the attention of the developer.
thanks in advance.

Any way to get a brightness slider Notification Window?

If there is any apps that give this option or anyway to do it without to much modding I would greatly appreciate the info! Im stock rooted with FK no roms and dont really want to have Roms yet (waiting on full PA) I would really just like the quick option of pulling down the notification window and change brightness and be done instead of clicking through buttons to get to a slider or clicking through brightness profiles ala Power toggles which can be clunky.

Well, not sure what you would consider too much modding. I'm stock rooted with stock kernel. The only tool I ever need is Xposed Framework + Gravity Box. It's super easy to do what you are looking for with regards to brightness in the status bar. In fact, it's even easier because you don't even have to pull down the notification bar. There's a setting in Gravity Box that allows you to just slide you finger along the status bar (without having to pull it down), and you can adjust your brightness quickly. I use this instead of auto-brightness, and it works flawlessly.

Yea I dont really know about xposed and all that Ive heard it can drain battery depending on modules and all that or in general. Maybe im wrong but even then not to sure about it. And there is an app that can do what you described but its not what im looking for because I can accidentally trigger it when pulling down notifications so I ditched it. Id rather have a brightness bar in the notification shade.

Ah. I see. Maybe something like this would help: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=49741707#post49741707? It's post #30 on that page. rootSU says he uses it with great success.
And for what it's worth, I don't see any significant battery drain from using Gravity Box. For example, I don't charge my phone overnight. So during that 9-hour period that my phone is "asleep," it only drains about 2-3% at the most. I have enabled quite a few mods using it as well. I'm thinking the people that see drastic drain are running another app that is keeping the phone awake, or something specific in Gravity Box that keeps the phone awake, or wakes it up often (something like keep the last screen on your phone queued up so when you put the phone to sleep, then wake it up later, the same screen will appear).

Status bar brightness slider

Hello, I'm looking for a mod that adds the option of setting brightness by sliding across the status bar. To clarify, this is not the same as a brightness slider in the notification panel. You literally slide on the status bar with out having to pull anything down first. It's a crucial feature for me since I go in and out of the Sun a lot during the day. Thanks!
Viper ROM has it as an option so I know it is compatible with Sense roms. I'm running CleanRom now.
Tried GravityBox xposed module and it has the option but when I enable it, it doesn't actually go into effect...
Are you running the Kitkat version of it? Also you shouldn't even need to do this, the auto screen brightness adjustment on this phone is quite good and should adjust it properly for you even quicker than the status bar slider mod you're looking for can.

Yes, I was using KitKat version. The JB version won't even install on a KK phone...
I'd use Auto Brightness if I could set the lower limit to go all the way down to 0% but I can't find settings to customize that. Do you know an Xposed module that can?
In case you were wondering how to set the maximum automatic brightness level
A Google Search:
From the Home screen, tap > Settings > Display & gestures or Display, gestures & buttons. With the Automatic brightness option selected, drag the slider to set the maximum brightness level. This sets a limit on how bright the screen will be when Automatic brightness is selected.
Great answers.
How can one add this feature?

[Q] Missing Auto Rotate quick setting tile Android 5.0

After updating to Android L, I was poking around the setting seeing what is new. I pressed a button to invert the color on the phone. Now when I go to the quick toggles in the dropdown shade, I get a toggle for inverting the color, and the screen rotation toggle is missing. Please help, I use this toggle a lot and I do not know how to get it back.

notch brightness issue

Can anyone else confirm that turning on the notch drastically increases the brightness of the notifications in the notifications panel. It also increases the brightness of the status bar icons. I am a visully impaired individual and use dark theme for everything and the increased brightness in notifications is making me dizzy Everytime I pull the status bar. When I open the keyboard, the brightness for the keyboard also jumps to the extreme. Anyone else having this problem?
Only fix I have found is to turn off the notch, but I bought this phone for the notch, so there is no point in turning it off for me.
Any suggestions?

I do not seem to have any problems like this on my phone. You should probably rush to the service centre as soon as possible to fix because in longer period it will burn your oled panel.

This is normal, and it is because the darker icons prevent burn-in
