[Q] Dead (Left)Speaker - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
My left speaker stopped working all of a sudden. I guess it was around the time I was tweaking it to flash Jelly Bean (N8010). It is an N8013 and even though I flashed the proper firmware later on, the problem still persists.
However, it might not be related to that different firmware at all and just happened to break then. Is there a way to check whether it is a hardware or a software problem, though it seems to stem from some kind of hardware fault to me. :crying:

Wipe and flash stock firmware is all you can try .

And if that doesn't work, shove some cotton wool in your left ear :good:
Does the sound play through headphones? IF it does and IF its the same software that controls the output, I would say it was definitely the left speaker that has gone.

issue: no sound after firmware/rom update

hi
i upgraded my phone to another ROM and also upgrade to higher firmware, everything works great except the speaker(the small one that is closer to the ear) i tried to change to other roms and also tried to use different radio version but it still doesn't work.
if i plug an earphone or i push the loud speaker than i do hear the conversation but when nothing is plugged and i want to use the default speaker so there are no sound at all
what should i check?
where can be the problem?
thanks!!!
First have you tried downloading the firmware again? Could be something with the download.you said you have tried different roms and the issue still persists? Some roms I've noticed make my volume lower than others. Have you tried viper Rom? My volume is very loud on that Rom. If the issue still persists then I would guess it's a problem with the device its self. Perhaps take it for repair in a local shop.or send it and use warentee. Try downloading firmware again? I wish I knew of a better fix but I don't. And if the problem persists on several different roms, then my guess would be its device related. Sometimes for issues your better off finding a local repair shop, they usually repair same day and you don't have to send your device away. My local shop has fairly reasonable prices for repair. I'd look into that if no one else knows of a fix ...I hope this helps and best wishes to you! But do first try a fresh download of the firmware incase the first download was corrupted some how. Make sure it's a new download don't use the old one. Then try the different roms, if it still persists take for repair.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using xda premium
still doesn't work
I tried installing again the firmware and the viper ROM but the results are the same.
I also disassembled the phone and checked the vibrator engine and the speaker and they both work (I took a AA battery and wired it to the vibrator and it rotats and the speaker make noise, so the hardware is o.k)
I took it to the nearest shop and they also dont know what is the issue about.
everything worked fine before i upgeated the firmware and tryed different roms.
what else should i try?
maybe i should to downgrade the firmware? how should it be done?
no
why no one answer?
is there any problem in my post?????????
Hi I suppose you could try to downgrade the firmware but ics must be ran on 3.2 or 3.33 .to change your firmware you would do the exact same procedure as when you upgraded it. So to change to 3.32 from 3.33 you put the pg58img file at root of sd card. Boot into bootloader by pulling battery insert battery and then press volume down and power at the same time. The device will recognize the file and Ask to continue, press power for yes . Remember once it's up loaded to remove the pg58img file from sd card or device will continue to try to update in bootloader. Hope this helps. Best wishes.
sent from HTC sensation, soff, 3.33 firmware, viper Rom, sense 4.1, mugen battery. please press thanks if I helped in anyway.

Multitouch issue

Hello everybody!
There's something strange happening on my P5110. Here's the thing... when I use the tablet with one finger, everything moves as smooth as I expect... but when I try to use the pinch to zoom or just the multitouch (2 or more fingers) it may become less responsive and less smooth at the scrolling. The way to fix that is by shutting down the screen and turning it on again (I presume that it's a software issue). I use the stock 4.1.2 rom and I tried with factory reset and by searching the web, with no success. Any ideas?
I hope that someone could help me out with this issue.
Thanks in advance.
Had same problem

Hi Barktooth ,
I had the same problem with my P5110. I was on stock 4.03 DBT and after the update to 4.1.1 Btu I had the same issue with pinch zoom like you.
I tried everything .. flashing other stock versions, resetting and so on. But the problem stayed. Then i sent it to samsung. They reinstalled the stock 4.03 DBT version. But the Problem wasn't solved. I sent it again to samsung with a video to show them the issue. Now they solved the problem by changing the motherboard. I'm now on stock 4.03 with a new motherboard and without any issue. I think you have to send it to a samsung service center. Did the problem appear after flashing a stock rom?

Hi fredy66!
Thanks a lot for the answer. It was exactly the same for me. The issue appeared after flashing the 4.1.2 stock firmware... and is staying even if I flash another firmware or by hard resetting my device. I have far mor problems though... I don't know if there's any Samsung service center around my city and my warranty is gone. I'll try to find one.
Thanks again for the answer!... I thought it was a software issue... but now it is a hardware issue =(.

Hi Barktooth,
This is really strange. Maybe it's a software problem and the service center only couldn't solve it by flashing the normal stock firmware. It's possible that some p5110 needs a special driver because of a problem with the touch controller on some motherboards. Did you update the tablet with kies or by ota? I flashed my p5110 with odin. Have you tried cm? I'm now afraid of flashing again.

Hello fredy66!
I flashed the 4.1.2 stock firmware via odin too. I tried reflashing another version without luck. I'm gonna try with the 4.2.2 stock firmware and see if that solves the problem. It's really strange... I had a Galaxy S for a long time and flashed it like there was no tomorrow... nothing happened to that device... it works flawlessly even now. That's why I thought it was a software issue... but it seems that just a few of us had the bad luck =(.
I'll try the 4.2.2 and if it solves the problem, then I'll tell you through this topic
Thanks again for your time!

Galaxy S3 I9300 or SHW M440S? Not Sure

So I have a S3 and I am totally not sure if its the original I9300 or SHW M440S... I have flashed stock I9300 4.3 firmware and the result was a laggy firmware and my phone kept rebooting. I wasnt the first to own this phone, my uncle did and he said he just flashed the old i9300 4.3 firmware and the problem has occured which is a broken camera (cant connect to camera), not working speakers and headphone jack and mic...
Normally I would just get it fixed but.. Because of the broken cam, speakers and mic, my youtube or any online streaming videos does not load and mp3 musics dont play as the player apps force close when i press play...
Again, a broken hardware does not affect the software so I am not sure if it is really the hardware or I just flashed the wrong firmware on the wrong phone.
Has anyone ever tried to flash a I9300 4.3 official firmware on a S3 SHW M440S?
Did you get the same result as I did?
Do you recommend me to flash a SHW M440S firmware on my s3 just to check? Will it not brick my phone?
Please help me out..
Thanks and God Bless

If it is running the i9300 firmware it is highly unlikely to be the Korean variant as according to this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/help/swh-m440s-vs-i9300-t1829783/page2) it would require a kernel conversion
But as he said, flashing firmware to SHW M440S made the phone laggy and have issues with communication and photography.. Seems like the same problems on my S3..
What do you think?

Galaxy S6 Speakers' Issue

Hi buddies,
I know maybe It is a wrong place to ask this, but I've got a strange problem regarding to speaker.
My speaker in my S6 gets some ticks and lags during the play. I mean constantly the music stops and plays over and over.
I have the issue frequently and at the moment when I check the hardware with *#0*# there is no problem with the speaker.
I have the problem in games softwares and music players, and just recently got it.
I've tested different ROMs and kernels, both stock and unofficial, in both Lollipop and marshmallow, but the problem is still keeping up.
Attachment I've uploaded you an instance to better understand the problem.
I really appreciate if you just give me a hand with this.
Thanks.

What model S6 do you have?
Might have installed the wrong model, can you please try to flash an original stock rom and see if that works then go from there to see where you went wrong

I've got the international version (G920f).
I've flashed stock ROM bunch of times from different bases, and now I am on stock marshmallow ROM with stock kernel. Still have the issue.
If you've tried different stock roms I'd say your speaker is faulty? If you haven't triped Knox send it back?

But I test during the issue, the speaker is allright, (using *#0*#)
And also I don't enable the Knox at all.
When I use that code I goto imie viewer. Knox is always active on stock rom regardless, it sounds hardware related not software, since you've tried other roms and it's still the same issue it doesn't make sense that you broke your device speaker.

Oh, I really sorry that was a blunder
I meant *#0*# ...
So How can I really make sure that It's a hardware issue?
Does flashing ROM with box helps?
Well if you keep flashing different roms and nothing is working to fix the problem, which is including kernel issues on stock and custom I'd say it's hardware related.

Strange Camera issues

Hi everyone, I've a strange issues with Mi4c Camera and Wifi. When I take a photo WiFi stop working, I tried different Roms and the result is the same. Someone has a solution? Please help me

I tried a Miflash but it still doesn't work, firmware v. 9.5.2.0
with firmware v. 6.1.7 the situation is even worse, after taking some pictures the phone restart itself
I think it's a hardware problem at this point
