TF300 use an underclocked version of Tegra3 where A700 use an higher end version. And most important A700 feature much better resolution. TF300 should be better compared to A500 or A200.
All question is what you want do with your tablet.

TF300 use T30L version of Tegra 3 (just like Nexus 7 for example), where A700 or A500 use normal T30 version. There is even an high end version called T33 used for example in Transformer Prime.

does the a700 have a micro sd or no?

Recommend me a tablet

Hey XDA. Im currently sending this off of a crappy ipod touch 4g. So sorry if there is any gramatical or spelling errors. Im going to be selling this on ebay to help fund my tablet because it looks like they can sell for $150 to $200 in the condition mine is currently in.
But anyway, Im looking for a tablet, I dont care about size. Im looking to get one for $200 to $300 new. I was hoping it could have at least a gig of ram, a dual core (if possible), be able to play games well, have a decent sized development community on gere, rootable, and a decent battery life because I will be taking this to school.
I know Im asking for a lot, but rooting and installing roms looks like a lot of fun, and Im not able to buy an android phone because with us cellular they require a data plan, which my dad doesnt need, so he doesnt want to pay for it (which is fair).
Ive also heard of the nvidia tegra 2, just wondering is that a cpu, apu or gpu? I currently own a gtx 460 in my computer, so if I had a nvidia product like that in my tablet, that would be cool.
Alright sorry that ive asked a lot, if this has alreadt been answered please feel free to close this thread and link me to the thread where that answer is.
Thanks!

I'll suggest to you the HP TouchPad. 9.7" 1024x768 Samsung IPS panel, dual core processor capable of running at 1.8ghz, Adreno 220 GPU...it is one of the fastest tabs you can buy.

Good luck finding a TouchPad...
Most of the lesser expensive tablets (I. E. In your price range) are either underpowered or do not have custom ROMs.
If you don't mind a slightly sluggish experience but it runs games well you could get a nook color which has cyanogenmod support. If you want speed and decent power, kindle fire is a good bet. If you want a tablet that's very powerful and has root (you can customise apps and launchers, etc.) nook tablet. Nook tablet does not yet have custom ROMs but it has root and is the cheapest tablet in its class.

Now they can be readily found on eBay, but they are going up in price; the price for one of the 16GB models has risen about $40 in the past week. Upon using the device, three of my friends have bought one for themselves, I really can't recommend the device enough.
I'd suggest looking at the Nook Color or Nook Tablet. They sell new for $200 & $250 respectively. They are a little underpowered compared to some of the newer stuff like a Galaxy Tab 10.1 or something like that, but you can't beat that price. You'd be lacking some things, like a camera and microphone.
CM7 is currently available for the Nook Color and works amazingly well. I'm sure it'll be made available for the Tablet soon enough if it doesn't yet exist. Depending on what you mean to do with the tablet one of these may be more than enough.

Nook Color runs stably at 1.3 ghz under cyanogenmod 7. It feels a little pokey to me and I have one.
Nook tablet is dual core 1.1 OMAP 4 with a gig of ram. It is hardly underpowered as I have one of these as well.
The biggest issue with both nooks is android <3. 0 so it does not have the interface GPU accelerated. Any tablets above gingerbread will seem faster even if they have lower specs. Most of the time the GPU does nothing and the cpu has to process the interface, touch, plus everything else. Touch and interface are offloaded to GPU on honeycomb and higher.
If cyanogenmod 9 come to the Blaze it will be a better tablet than most Honeycomb because it has a faster and better cpu with more ram. Most honeycomb tablets only have 512mb.

I didn't really want the nook color to be honest, and I was thinking about getting the nook tablet, but the only problem is that you can't really install roms on it because of the bootloader being locked or something? (This is what I've heard, I'm an Android noob).
If the boot loader is really locked on newest Nook Tablets, that would eliminate it from my list of possible candidates. Is this true? I was leaning toward the NT because of the card slot, and the possibility of booting from an sd card. (I read that the lock was imposed during an automatic upgrade)
Acer iconia a100 or a500 are my first and second choices
-My life is a shooting range, people never change-
transformer prime if you have the cash and want to wait
acer iconia a500 or a501 if you want one now.
I have an a500. I like it, after I rooted and jumped off a factory ROM

I'd like to get the HTC flyer. Had a chance to play with one in Best Buy the other day. it was wonderful for me. I read today that they dropped the price in the UK, hope so here in the USA..
I think Acer Iconia a501 is a good choice ... if you want to spend a little more buy a HTC.

[Q] What is the best tablet out there?

Hello,
Am looking around for tablets. What is the best tablet out there?
Tegra 2/dual-core atom or better. Price below 400$ for brand new.
It must be hackable/moddable. Should have an active developer community or open platform.
Would consider Android, Linux and Windows.
Following options are on my list,
Toshiba Thrive
Asus Transformer
Acer Iconia - Tegra version
Motorola Xoom
Am open to more suggestions.
The best available dual-core tablet available is Asus Transformer. It has good community support, and the tablet itself its great.

I'd go for Asus Transformer, just cause it asus!
He said dual core or better so I guess in terms of futureproof, I'll be the guy to offer the Transformer Prime, otherwise, the original Transformer.

Thank you guys. Yes, prime is 500$ - not below 400$ but I'd be more than glad to pick Prime over the TF101 if you can find me a 400$ deal. =P
But, I don't think Tegra 3 is future-proof. I've been hearing an octa-core is brewing in the kitchen. Nonetheless, sometime back I used to see these 400-500$ Windows 7 Atom tablets. I wonder what happened to them. It'd be really nice if Acer would offer an Ubuntu version of W500. W500 is dual-core AMD x86 and runs Windows 7 Home Premium and costs 500$ but if they make the cut on Windows 7, they should be able to roll out a 400$ x86 Ubuntu tablet.
As of now, am seriously considering Transformer original or Thrive. (Thrive has full USB ports without adapter while Transformer has active dev community. )
And, didn't anyone roll out an AOSP tablet? You know like those developer phones with vanilla Android.
Sorry I missed the $400 part.

Ya asus tablet is nice, all I can afford is nook color running cm7.2
HTC Wildfire S VM "s-off rooted stock Rom"

Acer Transform has my vote. Or the moto xoom! Android > Apple

(Q) planning on buying a tablet...

Ok so I want a tablet that Has good specs a larger screen(8+ depending on resolution) and something that I can install Ubuntu on... A dual boot would be nice. Also I want full sized usb ports... I have 2 so far… the toshiba thrive.. and the lenovo thinkpad. I need ideas.. you guys are experts!
No one has a suggestion?
Guys.. nothing?
With this options, I prefer the IdeaPad. But, you don't like Asus devices? Four example, Transformer prime and infinity have a great specs, large display with a really good quality and full size USB Ports

I forgot I want a good rear camera as well... I might try the Acer Iconia.
I have an Acer A500, 16GB version, and it runs the heck out of all the apps, but I don't do much of anything with it, the laptop is dual boot with ubuntu and win7, but i can't come up with an idea as to why you'd need to do that to a tablet.
I guess there are way more people that have way more going on with their life than I do lol

Well I have both, the Asus TF300T has a much more powerfull processor the Tegra 3 chipset and there are games made with that specifically in mind. It has a beautiful screen, very clear colors, sharp and crisp.
I mean to say overall, the TF300T is probably the better tablet. I pretty much bought my 3113 tab to mess around with and I kind of liked the form factor being easier to hold and all. I looked at it like a beta test for my upcoming Nexus 7 tablet I'm probably going to guy, which will give me the best of both the TF300T and the 3113.

Is this 3G?

Hey guys, does this have 3G capability, how can I tell if it does, is it another model?

Also do you suggest me to look at another tablet before this?
Thanks!

Nope, no 3g. It's a 64gb model (more problem). I suggest you to get a 32gb model ( a lot cheaper) if you decided to go with Asus transformer Infinity. If you want a smooth working table try the Galaxy tab 10.1, this one will have lower resolution screen + less bell and whistles than the Asus.
No 16gb Infinity

FYI, the Infinity comes in 32gb and 64gb, not 16gb. My 32gb Infinity works fine. No lags, or other issues.
It walks my dogs, makes coffee for me, gives me recommendations for the best stocks. I've made millions in the last month thanks to my Infinity. (Obviously the previous two sentences are complete fabrications).
Seriously, its a great tablet with an awesome screen.
Thanks, I'm looking for a tablet that will play games really well, and give me a relatively long battery life when just browsing internet or such, I was comparing this to the Galaxy Note 10.1, however the specs of this has made me change my mind completely, as it's much more faster too.
I can't seem to find a 16GB model that you have mentioned,only seeing a 32GB and 64GB

Sorry, it's my typo, there is no 16gb. Only 32gb and 64gb. Get the 32gb. This device can hook up to your external usb hard drive where you will have plenty of storage space.
Is amazon a good place to buy this, because I live in Australia and I'd probably end up paying $800 for this tablet which is around $488

It's simple to see:
TF700T = Wifi only
TF700KL = 3G/4G LTE
If you want both 3G and gaming, you're not going to find it. The 3G variant comes with the Snapdragon Dual core, NOT the Nvidia Tegra 3 Quad core (which is for gaming).
Asus site:
Qualcomm® MSM 8260A Snapdragon™ S4 Krait Dual-core 1.5Ghz CPU (3G )
NVIDIA® Tegra® 3 Quad-core [email protected] 1.6GHz (WIFI)

Nah no worries man, the only reason I wanted to see if it was 3G is so I can find a cheaper version, I can't afford to pay another $50 for only 1GB of bandwidth per month here, it's just not on.
Thanks though.
