Dear all,
I got my Galaxy S2 about a year ago and first thing I did was rooting it.
After several months my phone broke, I sent it to Samsung but I had forgotten it was rooted.
So they sent it back and said they wont repair it because its rooted. So I went home and unrooted him,
and if I send him back can they tell if it WAS rooted? (Like check the IMEI or somthing?)
Thanks all,
MrThori
After unrooting the phone no one can tell if the phone was rooted or not. And rooting has nothing related to imei or any other number so they can't tell. If they saved your phone info when it was rooted maybe then they can

Hi fellow Tab 7.7 users
Days ago i installed Paranoid Android 2.55 ROM and everything went fine but today when i reverted back to Stock ICS ROM, my IMEI changed to something like this 004999010640000 which is not my original one. i could not use dialer codes or the likes and hardware id missing prompts me whenever i connect my Tab via Kies... Pls help me solve this problem i need my original IMEI back
Thanks so much..
You would need to restore your efs backup.
In the mean time check for a software update as you now have a generic imei which might give you a development build of Samsung firmware.

Hello I keep losing my contrast on my screen of my sons nabi 2 it just started doing this the other day. I have turn it off/on many times and nothing I have also tried to restore it but the root remains on it. I would like to see if it's the root causing the problem or if it's the unit itself so I need some instructions on how to unroot it. If anyone has had this problem before and fixed it please chime in thanks.

How to unroot nabi 2.
Hello! I rooted my son's tablet following a very specific video on youtube. Now I am having some issues and need to send the device back for repairs and need to unroot it. I see you posted a link here to download a file necesary for this purpose, but could you be a little more specific as to how the whole process is done? I would greatly appreciate it.
I have a rooted Samsung Galaxy S2 X from koodo and I was wondering if I can just straight up update my phone the way it is now through Samsung Kies when the JellyBean update arrives for my device in April? I have no custom roms NOR have I flashed anything on this device as far as I am concerned. The only thing I've done after rooting my phone is download root required apps on Google Play and APK files off the internet. I know for a fact that my root would disappear and I'm not concerned with that, since I don't want my phone to be rooted anymore anyways. So i figured I can hit two birds with one stone if I was able to update my phone and get rid of my root in the process. What's stopping me is that I have read that updating through kies while rooted can brick your phone. Or does that only happen if you have custom roms installed?
Don't you already have a thread about this?
