[Q] My Tab 7.7 IMEI was changed to 004999010640000, any solutions? - Galaxy Tab 7.7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi fellow Tab 7.7 users
Days ago i installed Paranoid Android 2.55 ROM and everything went fine but today when i reverted back to Stock ICS ROM, my IMEI changed to something like this 004999010640000 which is not my original one. i could not use dialer codes or the likes and hardware id missing prompts me whenever i connect my Tab via Kies... Pls help me solve this problem i need my original IMEI back
Thanks so much..

You would need to restore your efs backup.
In the mean time check for a software update as you now have a generic imei which might give you a development build of Samsung firmware.

i found an old nandroid backup and i that restore my efs folder so im lucky
On my old phone GT-I9000 aka Galaxy S, to restore an imei you just needed to flahs any stock ROM via ODIN and that will restore your imei. Although I'm not sure if that the case with I9001. Never tried.

I flashed a lot of Stock ROMS to get my imei back ... no one will bring your emei back. Most problems with emei are caused that sometimes on custom roms the baseband is missing. just flash a modem than anf basebabd and emei will be there.
flashing stock is doing the same, it flashes basebend and thats the only thing.
restoring your imei by flashing stock doesn't work!

[Q] Does Samsung track my IMEI if they know I am rooted?

Dear all,
I got my Galaxy S2 about a year ago and first thing I did was rooting it.
After several months my phone broke, I sent it to Samsung but I had forgotten it was rooted.
So they sent it back and said they wont repair it because its rooted. So I went home and unrooted him,
and if I send him back can they tell if it WAS rooted? (Like check the IMEI or somthing?)
Thanks all,
MrThori
After unrooting the phone no one can tell if the phone was rooted or not. And rooting has nothing related to imei or any other number so they can't tell. If they saved your phone info when it was rooted maybe then they can

Samsung Galaxy tab GT-P6200 - Compatible ROMs

Hi, i wanted to know if there is some way i can flash a Rom onto my Galaxy tab GT-P6200 which will make my device id show as a phone rather than a Tablet.
The reason for this is displayed here in another topic i posted: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2426142
Any help would be appriciated!

You may try the latest 4.1.2 as it is phablet based. But i doubt your problem will be resolved because carriers connect your device's IMEI no.to their service and IMEI no will always tell them it is a TABLET!!!. Changing IMEI no. is illegal.

Rooted and Flashed, no service

I recently followed a few tutorials to wiping, rooting, and flashing and managed the process with few problems. But now i have no service on my phone...I have no idea whats wrong or how to fix it.
Help would be much appreciated

[Q] Where can I go to fix my SIII in London? efs/imei problem

Hi Guys..
I've tried all methods but I can't fix my SIII international version. Basically flashed incorrectly without saving the efs folder.
Anyway.. I've taken in to a few shops but none can fix it. I need a shop which is more knowledgable about this.
Can anyone recommend somewhere to take my phone in?
Many thanks

I have read all info and tried everything available to me on XDA.
The modem is currently XXEMG4 but I'm still getting a 004999010640000 IMEI
Did you use qpst? I erased my imei while flashing a cm Rom and qpst restored it. It's not hard at all. Remember to do a factory reset afterwards it doesn't mention that in the instructions.

Not sure why qpst didn't work it. Are you sure you did it properly?
