I searched the forum but couldn't come up with anything. Every time I flash a new ROM I loose my progress in the HTC Teeter game. Does anyone know how to back up my progress so that after I flash I don't have to start all over?
Start over again?
There isn't way you can save the game. I finished the game twice and there is no option for you to go back to a level that you were already at before.
I know it sucks, but it's no big deal really, since it's a pretty easy game with the exception of the last few levelsm and if you spend 20 minutes in a go, you can totally finish it.
I remind that there was a way to backup it, but it's long time ago that I read it somewhere.
I guess it was in the Raphael forum - maybe here's somebody who knows more.
I did a search when I got my new Evo 4G and all I found was people saying it wasn't possible and the ones that said it was possible said you had to be rooted. After a little more digging and some trial and error I figured out a way to backup all THREE versions of Angry Birds and then move all progress (including golden eggs) to a new and UNROOTED device for FREE! Here's how I did it. Hope this helps others.
There are free apps in the market that will allow you to backup and move your progress to another device w/o rooting. I wanted to reply because I went through the same thing on my new device and I had three devices actually. I had Angry Birds on my Droid 1 (rooted), Angry Birds Seasons on my tablet (not rooted) and finally Angry Birds Rio on my new Evo 4G which wasn't rooted. If you search the market you will find these three apps to be the best as they backup not only progress but golden eggs and what not and are all free:
angrybirdsbackup
angrybirdsbackup (seasons)
Rio backup
The first two are from the same dev and the third seems to be about the same thing from a different dev. It would be nice if the same dev offered one for all three games or, even better, if that dev would COMBINE them all into a single app *hint hint* that generated separate folders for each game the end users chooses to back up.
Here we go:
1) Install whichever you need on both devices.
2) Complete ONE level on the new device (do NOT skip this step or you won't be able to complete the process successfully) and then create a backup to your device using the app.
3) Install the same app on the old device and create a backup for the same game on the old device. Now you have backups of current progress of the same game on both devices and you need to get the old to the new.
4) Use a file explorer (I like ES File Explorer best out of all of them but some prefer Astro... either will work for this DIY) to locate the folder that was created on the new device which will be named the same as the backup app. Within that folder you will find two files which I think are .bkp or something similar. One is scores and one is something else. You want to delete those two files from the new phone and then copy the same two files from the old phone and place them in the same location on the new phone.
5) Back out, launch the backup app that you installed and select restore.
Done.
You can verify by launching Angry birds to see your progress is all stored on the new device. Making a backup of your Angry Birds games every once in a while and then copying those backups to a PC or external storage device isn't a bad idea if you're serious about Angry Birds.
I see this question asked often but rarely see an answer nor have I seen a step by step on how to complete it even if you're able to stumble upon one of these apps since they don't include instructions.
Excellent guide. I will feature this on the Portal.

No idea what that means but I'm honored none-the-less.
Nice work!
Nice write up and i think this is fantastic info.... Just curious though, doesn't titanium backup do this too?
I ran into an issue 1 time where my games did not get saved through titanium (well they were save i just couldn't restore) but it was because of the way the ROM implemented A2SD. Once i moved the games off the SD, i have never had an issue.

Titanium backup wil as long as your rooted. That's why this is a how to on how to backup Angry Birds w/o having root access.

Just means that at midnight eastern time, your guide will be featured on the XDA main page. Great guide, once again.

And I wonder if the Evo 4G couldn't get rooted yet or you just don't want to root it ???

Like you said, there are issues with titanium backup. Backup-Restore across different roms and versions also might cause hick ups.
Thank you for this guide
This was awesome info. You know, originally I rooted my DHD only to get backups from Angry Birds. Now of course I'm flashing nightly CM builds, radios etc. just for the bonus.
I will definitely use this guide to back up my wifes non-rooted Angry Birds progress.

Well now I'm for SURE honored. Glad I was able to type up something that can benefit others. I too have been in the spot of wishing there was an easy to follow tutorial on something from time to time so if I can help someone else out and pay it forward then all the better.

No, the Evo 4G can most certainly be rooted and I have since rooted mine as well as my wife's Evo 4G. At the time I wasn't planning on rooting and figured there HAD to be a way to backup or move w/o rooting and there wasn't much information available at all. Just a lot of threads telling people to root or play them all again which really isn't a good solution for everyone IMO. I have had a few hiccups from time to time w/Titanium Backup across platforms or ROMs so it's nice to have something that you can do separate that will translate over various devices or ROMs since the actual app handles the backup and recovery.
wish i knew about this a few days ago. girlfriend got mad after i rooted her thunderbolt, and she lost her game progress. i tried backing up the app, and afterward reinstalled, but lost all progress.

Haha... I know exactly what you're talking about. This was the exact reason I wanted to avoid rooting my Evo once we got new phones. Since I've rooted this last weekend I've flashed countless ROMs, Themes and other various items and it has absorbed SO much of my time. Once that root bug bites...

Thanks for the guide on how to do this w/o root. i wanted to transfer my game onto a buddy's device.
i would like to add that you can use dropbox to save your back up's to a cloud service, so you dont have to connect so many devices to a computer or swap SD cars. Dropbox is free and they have an app to make life a breeze. link below,

You still sleeping on the couch for that one?
Yeah, once you root that info is lost unless you backed it up to the SD card which is what this walks you through and what Titanium backup can do with a rooted device. If you are going to root a device you've already been using I highly suggest using a temp root to create a backup first and will create a how to shortly.

Another great tip. I used DropBox to share files with some friends across the country when it first came out and had heard it was available for mobile devices, I just hadn't looked any further into it. Recently I had been thinking about how handy that would be as many different devices as I use to be able to share files and what not between them. I may just have to bite the bullet and start running it again. I bet it will make life easier.
or you could not waste your time with such a game

the app is easy to use. only thing i wish it did was sync the folders (like how it does on a pc) instead of have to upload them with the app. this way I get to share music and photos with my friends in Afghanistan.
Have any users of this ROM tried the Bard's Tale? On the Main menu screen (which looks like an opened book) I get graphic glitches and the display doesn't change when I click on any options. I hear the game respond to my click and seems like it is running in the back ground, but the display remains on this opened book with the bottom of it stuttering/flashing.
Any ideas?
I'm also interested in the results of anyone playing it on the Stock ROM because my wife's tablet is still stock, and that is an option for me.
Update: Tried game again last night and it seems to be working fine now.
Hi, I'm new to XDA, and french, so excuse me for my bad english...
Had the same problem on stock rom (ICS 4.0.3) on my transformer. It has been solved with a cold boot, It seems to be a known problem for asus, who is working on it...
source : can't post links yet, but visit the android support page on the inXile entertainment website...
After playing 7 hours, Bard's Tale refused to launch, I tried to reinstall the apk and redownload the entire 3,5 Go HD data after a TB backup, and this was not the solution.. the only thing I got was losing my savedgames that Titanium didn't backup... (savedgames are not saved with the data in TB, they are placed in the Android/Data/com.inXile.BardTale/files/SavedGames folder.)
Now, the game works perfectly, unfortunately, I'm too lazy to play again the 7 hours I have already done... may be I would keep playing if someone could share his savedgames. Before losing my savedgames folder, I just had finished the chapter V, forest tower. This game is awesome :good:
Hope this will help...
I've been having quite a difficult time with an application that simply does not want to disappear and I have no idea how they're doing this. There's a game called Knights & Dragons and after I used titanium backup to restore my game [not thinking] after flashing a new ROM it suddenly got stuck in a reloading loop. I've tried to contact the developers over the matter but 1. it's GREE and 2. they're probably under the impression that i've been cheating.
SO. I decided that I'll just whipe it and make a new account and start from scratch not bothering. I just played casually so it's not a big issue really. Something to do with my kids and brother.
I've done a full out factory reset more than once, installed different ROMS including different playstore versions, cleared data under apps options, looked under android/data/ for any game files i may have missed floating on the system, spoof data through XPrivacy which works on everything else, tried PDroid, made a new google account and downloaded through that and nothing.
Every time it still loads up my old game thats glitched/banned [unsure which it is] and I have no idea how. All data that I know of has been deleted and the phones data including google acc/key has been legitly changed AND i'm spoofing on top of it. There should be absolutely NO way the game associates itself with my device yet it does which leads me to believe that somewhere on my phone something is hidden. Does anyone have any ideas?
Same issue
Did you get it to work?
I'm also after what are they using to identify the device. Can't figure out.
If you fixed it, can you please let us know?
Thanks
Do you have a full backup from your stock ROM ? (you can restore and start over for real)
You should have your stock ROM and then flash other ROM over it, simply because custom ROMs are overwritten to the previous ROM and if some file are corrupted they should get fixed
Repair shops usually have devices to hard flash your android device into an stock Recovery and ROM, you may try that too
There are some strange difficulties I'd like to solve but won't without help. The First one concerns actualisations - my current version of CyanogenMod is 12.1-20150914=NIGHTLY-bacon, soo the newest one. However I would really like to know why every two weeks when the new actualisations are available, there are always three of them? so with the one i installed came also ver 20150913 and 20150912, should all 3 of them be installed one after another?
2. Using google chrome my phone struggles to play a video from quite a number of players including liveleak, dailymotion and a few more I forgot now, if anyone knows how to fix it I'll be much obliged.
3. I think my dear friends is getting a bit senile =[ freezing once in a while (but still very rarely) and recently it rebooted in a very weird way - I got the black screen, android logo and suddenly it was on without loading (the whole process took about 5-10sec). Again the solution is greatly welcome.
4. Is the jellybean finally available on OPO? can't seem to find it
Huge thanks for all help, I appreciate it and wish you all best of luck, take care!

1. No, all three don't need to be installed, only the most recent one. I'm not sure why you're getting notifications for more than one.
2. Can't comment on this, I have no such issue.
3. There could be countless causes for this, it would be virtually impossible to give you a solution.
4. Jellybean? That's an old Android version, it's several iterations old now. This phone was released on KitKat (4.4.2). Why would anyone create a ROM based on an outdated Android version?
2. it plays a video and suddenly it freezes, sometimes the sound is still playing, sometimes the browser crushes but the video stays on my screen frozen and the sound still goes on.
4. I meant marshmallow, of course, i'm not good with these sweets names

Well Marshmallow hasn't even been released by Google yet. There's a port of a dev preview but it's by no means stable. Marshmallow will be officially released at the end of the month, then we should get some ROMs a while after that.
