I've had my 10.1 for less than a day and I am really glad I chose to get this device over the others I was considering. So far I've only found one thing I wish I could change about this tablet which is currently running stock 4.1.2 which is rooted and deodexed is the location of the Softkeys
I primarily use my left hand to cold the device and navigate using my right hand and I wish the softkeys were on the right of the device instead of the left hand corner.
Is there anyway to relocate the softkeys? I've looked on the tablet and I've searched the forums with no luck.
Thank you in advance for your help and/or suggestions
Guess there no MOD that will allow this to take place, I wonder if I can poke around and find out how to make a mod myself... I'm no developer but I think it would be worth a shot! Anyone have any advice on where I should start?

has anyone tried to id the hardware driver currently being used in the topaz android release? It would be awesome to get that working and have some turn by turn direction action. I am wondering if it's just pointed at the wrong com port or something else not too difficult to fix? Any information would be helpful. I am technical and I love mobile devices, I want to learn more about android so I can help make the existing ports more usable.

I second this ... PLEASE GPS!!!!
bad sentinel79, bad, go back to the topaz forums, you are not allowed to go anywhere else. lol
GPS would be absolutely great, but then so would sound, reliable wake up, better power management, etc.
The kernel developers are doing everything they can to work on each part feature by feature. But if they hit a roadblock they do not just sit around and wait, they move on and come back later (as is the case with the sound)
GPS will be done when they can get to it, but if anyone wants to jump in and lend a hand, there can never be too much help and ideas.

... you caught me!
Hey guys,
Great forums here, lots of awesome stuff going on and the development community is kicking!
I recently got rid of my iPhone (couldn't stand Job's arrogance anymore) and decided to go with the cost effective route of MetroPCS. When I found Android phones could be flashed to work with it, I was quite excited. I found a phone and someone to do the flashing on Craigslist (actually a local phone shop that does it).
He flashed my phone and loaded Evil Eris onto it. I wasn't under the impression that if he put this rom on, I was going to have issues, like no voicemail notification or softkey leds. Going into this, I was pretty unaware of all the different rom choices, and the effects they have on the phone, and I still kind of am. So I have a few questions, because I've been reading about Ivans and kind of want to try it out, but want to make sure I've covered all my bases.
1. I am still unaware of the exclusivity or co-dependence that "flashing" a phone and changing a rom have with one another. He flashed my phone to work with Metro, and upload the Evil Eris rom. Main question is - if I wipe and load Ivans, do I lose the ability to use Metro? Or is it simply an issue of loading up my Metro APN (i think thats right) settings once I've loaded the new rom?
2. Nandroid backup - I made one the other day. If I go in, try another rom, and screw something up, I am under the impression that I could restore that backup and my phone be working like I never left it, including MetroPCS settings, correct?
3. Can anyone suggest a good program to backup and restore carrier specific settings, so that if I load a new rom I can quickly port settings over? Does something like this exist?
4. Finally, if all of this has been answered somewhere where I didn't find, feel free to send me to those links!
Thanks in advance, everyone! Looking forward to getting to know my new phone better!
anyone able to help me out? or point me in the right direction?
I also want to make sure I posted this in the right place, not sure if it needs to be in the Eris specific forum.
I really hope you've found help already. But if not, I THINK the app called "APN Backup & Restore" is the app you're looking for.
If this question has been asked before I am sorry. I have been looking for a guide on it but have turned up nothing. I also do not even know what the buttons are called but I know they are called something and that is why I have not been able to find it anyhow.
I was reading somewhere that on the home screen, you have a left and right button, then you have the phone button in the middle. How can I change the left and right buttons to do another task other than the default one. I am pretty sure this is possible seeing that I did read something about it I just cant find it now.
If this is a frequent question and I am just blind can someone please point me in the right direction thank you and sorry!
Sense launcher is called Rosie.
Here's something I was able to find for you, and I'd suggest checking out the Inspire and Desire HD Theme sections to really get what you're looking for in case this isn't it...

That is more or less what I am looking for, However I kind of wanted to keep the same look of the buttons just change them around I will give that a try though, it was in the right direction though.
If anyone else can find/knows a way of keeping the same theme but changing the buttons to whatever you want please let me know, thanks for your time!
hi i was wondering if there is another rom i can use other than the stock rom, there doesnt seem to be a lot of info on this tablet.Any advise as to is it worth buying at around £110 thanks to all who can help
I recived a brand new tablet due to NVIDIA recall évent and i wonder how long can i wait until switching her on. (Since doing so will remotly "terminate" the old one)
Now that i know the one i use has battery malfunction, I'll use and store it with that in mind, in a fireproof box, even if i had'nt the slightest overherheating issue with it.
I Also wanted to know how switching the new tablet on in 1 year or less would impact on the warenty, and how it works anyways, i read somewhere in geoforce forums, that replacement tabs would have a 1 year warenty, but nothing about that came in the box with the new tablet (no papiers no nothing) .Do you know about it ? Thank's.
if you use the search function you will easily find out a way how to keep both tablets...just sayin'...

I should have mentioned that i'm not willing to go through all that "kill the kill switch" process, witch seems fastidious to me. (by the way, really impressive reserch done by the guy who created it. I tried to catch up with it since its begining)
I'm used to one click root accès style things, and stock roms.
But i might get to it just for the ocasion of saving my Shield tab. Facing a deal here...
