Reboot the tablet (with dock attached)
Happened to me once, I freaked, then applied the old Windows trick of rebooting.. solved it.
Happened to me once also with the SD card on the keyboard. I let it go to deep sleep. When I woke it again, the SD card was recognized again.

I updated my transformer last week but didn't get a chance to try the usb and sd card reader until today and they are both dead, i tried rebooting numerous times but no luck, the keyboard works fine. Anybody else having this problem? It was working before the update.

anyone? not sure if i should rma it or not.
try a quick factory reset and see if it helps, if not you might have to RMA it

backup your files and try factory reset..
Already tried factory reset and it didn't work
My USB is working. I have been using a USM mouse and it is fine.
I have not tried the SD card slot.
Both my SD card reader and usb ports are working after the update. They did work beforehand also.
Same on my side, but partially... When I connect the tab to a pc, the "asus sync" and "usb debugging" appear, but the tab doesn"t appear on my pc.
When I try to launch Asus sync on the tab, it search for computer, but nothing happen. On pc side, Asus Sync can't see the tab.
Is it the same for you?

Sorry, my bad, I installed filetransfer from android.com (I'm on a mac), and I can now access my EeePad. Strange though.... all my previous Android devices didn't need that to work.
same
I do not know if mine worked before. I just got my transformer. I know the sd card slot is working but i cant get either usb to connect to anything. It will charge my phone, but nothing else
hi guys, has anyone had this problem?
here's the details
i leave the TF idle with the dock for an hour+ and i have an SD card in the dock.
when i wake up the TF, i cant access the sd card and the keyboard dock is not working. i have to re dock the tab to get it working again. but heres the funny thing.
i can still see the SD card on the notification tab below. and even if i undock and redock it still will not recognize the sd card. opening it in the file explorer shows its blank.
and even if i safely remove the sd card it will not detect when i plug it in. same goes for any thumbdrives at this point. only way it corrects itself is a warm boot :/
im puzzled
Hello ppl,
I have been facing an irritating problem with my transformer when trying to mount an external storage device, be it SD cards, thumb drives or portable beds.
On plugging them in, the transformer doesn't seem to detect them at all. The lights don't blink, no notifications in the bottom right, and no files in the file manager.
I read about some solutions in other forums like restarting the device, but Restarting the TF doesn't work. The only way I can read the drive is if I restart the TF with the drive plugged in.
Also, when I safely remove the drive, an empty folder labelled removable disk still remains in the file manager. I can't seem to delete this folder.
I noticed this problem beginning when I once physically disconnected my portable hdd without safely removing it.
Is there any solution to this? I am tired of having to reboot my Tf everytime I want access some external drive.
Thanks
I have the same problem with my transformer dock. It works sometimes, and doesn't work other times. I can't find a pattern. It will read usb drives sometimes, and my SD card sometimes. The onboard microSD always works thought.
My External HDD is always recognised - I plug it in and works.
Other devices need to be mounted manually - Go to Settings > Storage > Scroll down to the drive is not mounted > and Select Mount.
I have to do this with my pendrive and HTC desire - but I never had to restart.
Hi again everyone,
So I have been using the tab for a week now. She is all rooted and ROM'ed (CROMI-X with _that 3+ kernel) and it seems to be running pretty smoothly. Now it's time to actually start using the thing like I want to. One of the thing I want to do it watch movies and potentially listen to music on it while traveling. I connect it to my PC to move some of the movies I have over to it to try out and I am having a real tough time getting anything to copy to it. Most of the time the device stops responding sometime during the copy an times out. I also have a 16GB class 10 SD card that I mount in the docking station that seems basically unusable as I cannot copy anything to that.
So my question is; Is there some trick to getting Windows to copy things over to the device reliably?
and, what is going on with my SD card to make it so slow that it is unusable.
Thanks in advance for an help or input.
Jeff
That's odd. I'd try a wipe and re-install. More often than not relfashing fixes quirks like that.
If you want to avoid spending time backing up and starting from scratch, you could try writing to your SD card through a card reader on your Windows machine and moving files over to your internal storage within android afterword. That should give you a pretty good idea whether your problem is hardware or software.
Wont help, i've got the same thing on all devices that use MTP. (Sgs3, gt2, lg l5-2, tf700t.) Wether it's 50mb or 50gb, it disconndcts halfway through.
Never had it before jb, when the got rid of mass storage it started. MTP is a very rubbish protocol.
Just plug the microsd into the pc directly. Another option is using wifi sharing.

Thanks to both for the answers. I will try the suggestions. I guess putting the card in the PC will work. Kinda makes the internal 64GB i have hard to use though. I was able to copy over a couple movies to internal storage this morning without issue.
What is the MTP protocol? I see that as the device to eject in Windows. Is that something new?
Thanks again
Jeff
what is the format of your cards? I plug my tab in to the pc to move large files to it. Some are 4gb blu ray movies. And they copy just fine. If your cards are FAT you might want to change them to exfat or ntfs.

Hi guys
I've juste fix a screen of TF300T for someone
My problem is the following
Scrren working but not the touchpad
That's not the issue
The issue is that some keys one the Asus keyboard does not working (1, backspace...)
And, the worst, whan I want to connect the tab on my PC, I got a windows message saying that it does not recognize the device
I'have tested on 3 different PCs
I think this could be the main USB dock even it the power loading is working properly
can someone help me ?
Thanks

Hey, I'm experiencing the same problem. For what ever reason my tablet is stuck in an infinite boot loop and It refuses to connect with my PC. It charges fine also. BTW is there any way to flash a recovery or firmware to the device from an sdcard?
Sent from my SPH-L900 using XDA-Developers mobile app
Finally that was effectively the USB connection wire between the mainboard and the usb dock connector
(nappe in french, don't know the english word)
It works fine now
Not sure you can flash from sd card until you don't have access to the system command.. :/
