Dear all,
Due to the fact that the prizes for the above mentioned phones are at the same level, I would need some help for deciding for the one or the other. The LG one will obviously get an unlocked bootloader soon, but for the SII there are more custom ROMs available.
Your comments are welcome and thanks in advance for your help.
Kind regards
markmu

I've got the LG and don't regret it one bit. Great phone - fast, quad-core, good screen ...
Then u might try any of the samsungs flagship and then u will feel like u got the ultimate phone.

This is a nice device but it been out for a while and still no ICS for USA version and no awesome roms. I just purchased the new nexus 7 16gb and its a 1000000 times better IMO and there is already a lot of development going on for it.
Good for you. The nexus forum is that way ------>

To quote an old saying "Don't let the door hit you in the Arse!!)
i think "1000000 times better" is overrated
Is it worth buying the phone now ? i have a low budget because i am only going to use the money from selling my Atrix 4G which annoys me a lot XD
Is the phone fast ? are there any lags or bugs ?
and is there any Cm9/10 finished ?

If you can get one for cheap I definitely recommend it. To me, the CM9 builds we have are all complete besides those minor little niggles like TV out. Our ICS is freaking fast!!! But all of this would not be possible without jt1134 and bhundven. Man I love those guys lol. Anyways, yes its worth it
If you have the chance to get something better then definitely do it. This phone is better than nothing but I can't wait to get some cash and upgrade

Hi Nathan
Please review my signature links and PM me for further questions.
I put my goal to make SGS4G have all the possibilities SGS i9000 has in terms of full Hebrew UI.
I think SGS 4G is an amazing device for its price and is still very much rocking. SheYihYe BeHatzLaCha anyway.

Hey guys:fingers-crossed:
Last summer I found this forum and had alot of fun with my Xperia Pro
Now I am looking for new phone, its been 4 months and still spending too much energy to find my perfect phone..
So, which from these phones u think is best to buy?
s2, s3 mini, s advance, s plus optimus black, one S, xperia sola, arc S
It also need much-very much development
Thanks!
I'd go with the nexus 4

S2. The S3 wasn't enough of an upgrade o justify the higher price.
Go for S2 buddy. It got hell lot of developers for roms and for the price now its affordable.

Honestly I would go with the nexus. I just got my first nexus and I don't think I would ever go back to a proprietary phone now and I have only had it two days lol. But I used my upgrade on an s2 it was a good phone and I liked it. Great development great devs.

but it doesnt fit your pocket does it? I used to travel alot as student and I only want good camera and some big development nothing more.. So a phone like HTC one SV would be my best choice [mid-range]
Mine fits in my pockets just fine. But mine is the galaxy nexus not the nexus 4. It's just slightly wider than the t989.

I just went to an electronics store today, and it was displaying the galaxy note 2. It looks amazing. I played with it a little bit. It is really zippy; everything turns on instantly when u click on it. It is a little big, but very light and slim. You could actually fit in a regular pocket. I am still debating of whether to get the s3 or the note2. Although the note2 would fit perfectly for my work, because I converse a lot on the computer through emails, charts and PDF documents.

Oh, and I really want to buy Razr M but its not available and its expensive
In the Netherlands it's 300 euros?
And It's mid-end, great perfomances for that budget, the only downside is the small community (yet).

€200 on mp man... [300 is really not worth, I think more €150] And It doesnt even have front cam nor HD I prefer a higher spec phone like Razr M, but nobody has it:crying: Thats why Galaxy s2 is my choice:good:
Buy a nexus 4 or iPhone 5
If I helped out, hit the thanks button.

Neither. Go for a nexus phone. Nexus s/galaxy nexus/nexus 4.
Bought Galaxy Nexus a year ago for the same purpose, worked like a charm for me. I would suggest to go with Nexus too. There are very popular and hacker friendly.
Strictly for hacking/dev-ing, the Nexus 4/Galaxy Nexus. For hacking/dev-ing while retaining a lot of common features (removable battery, expandable storage), Galaxy S3 or Note 2.
Thats right. Nexus is best

I think the Galaxy Nexus/Nexus 4 is the best choice, because you get always the newest updates.
When ubuntu phone is released, you can also develop for ubuntu phone.

i would also rather go for a nexus device instead of the 2 other devices, there are plenty of documentations and drivers for them and you can also run ubuntu on it. perfect for hacking around.
The google phones are the path of least resistance for hacking. They make things easier than 3rd parties who don't care about users who want to unlock or root their phones.

Yeah It's probably just a few games I downloaded more that I bought with this phone and doesn't lag like some do I don't really plan on rooting anything anymore unless I get something new. So I might get a nexus or maybe a 3ds since I just want it for games. I have this phone the evo 3d that's 1.2 dual core GHz and I'm happy with it but I'll see my little brother doesn't use his nexus much since he plays on my Xbox it might just end up being mine after a while
