Good buy? Need quick answer. - Galaxy Tab 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was offered a like new Galaxy tab 2 10.1 for 250. Is that worth it? Will a new one be coming out? If I get them to do 200 should I buy?
Thanks for the help

I bought my used Sprint Galaxy Tab 7 (white) for $200 in MINT condition. Asking price was $280. Doesn't hurt to say I have cash on me and can meet you in 30 minutes inside a Starbucks.

Ok thanks for the help so is 250 high? Will there be another tab coming soon? One more question. What do you guys think of this tablet? Is it smooth enough? Is cm10 or aokp the best room? I dont really care about touchwiz

No its a low price. The tablet is awesome. The 'best' ROM can only be determined by you.

I'll bump this a little bit. I just ordered Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 for 200 euros (they are normally like 350-400 euros here in Finland), and now I'm facing a dilemma.
I already own Xperia Tablet S, and ordered the Tab for my parents. But what do you think, should I keep the Tab for myself and give the Xperia Tablet S to my parents? Both are excellent devices, but Tab 2 is only a dual core. But there are 100x more custom roms for Tab 2 than Tablet S. There's pretty much zero roms for Sony.
CyanogenMod and other thingys gets me interested on Tab 2, but the "low specs" on Tab 2 gets me leaning towards Sony.
What would you do?

Apple's and oranges...but
I have a kindle fire hd 7" with no roms but fair specs....
And a tab 2 7" with cm10.1 with mediocre specs...
I use the tab 2 almost exclusively...

why not buy NEXUS 7? it's awesome.

Maybe because it costs more, and is smaller. 3 inches is quite a lot.
EDIT: In MY case (where I got the Tab 2 for 200€) it's cheaper.

Sorry to hijack this thread.. I am looking to buy this tablet(wifi 10.1). Actually i was confused between this and nexus 7. But the display size won over nexus 7. And am new to tablets as well. Will this tab survive another 5 years of time ? Does this tab support usb host and hdmi or mhl? How's the battery backup time(wifi on 24x7)?

just bought mine today for $180 at walmart but it's going back tomorrow. the thing lags way too much for me. guess ill either buy a nexus 7 or wait.

Got the nexus 7 today and its like night and day. The only minuses are no expandable storage or rear camera. I liked the design of the tab 2 but the lag killed it for me. Maybe ill try out the galaxy tab 8 when it hits.

I've also been holding off from buying a tablet for a while. Was trying to grab a bargain touchpad but somehow i missed them all. Sold out and I'm not paying ridiculous over priced charges some people charging now on the bulk loads they bought.
Anyway, I'm thinking of the Galaxy Tab 7.7 from all that I've seen. Perfect size and specs are mind blowing. 7.7 inches of Super AMOLED! Can't go wrong there.

7.7 maybe too small... someone suggested transformer 2, good spec. But I prefer tab 3. Tab has better screen and camera than asus.

Uh, you have to be more specific. What do you want to do with the tablet? Are you an Apple person, or an Android person? 7'? 8.9"? 10"?
you can try the galaxy note tablet
I'm looking for an android tablet. Either a 7" or 10". I was looking between the galaxy tabs 2 both in 7" and 10". Kinda read mixed reviews.

I would YouTube galaxy2 tab vs galaxy note and use spec difference. My personal opinion the note would be my choice because galaxy tab can be hassle with fc even in basic stock. But you gotta find the difference there
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
I have a tab 2 10.1. It hasn't had any fc or problems. It also doesn't have very much dev support. It runs well for me, it's rooted, and I use it for watching movies and surfing the web.
Look into the note tablet and the nexus 7. Those are better tablets as far as specs go. They probably also have more dev support. Up to you though, the tab 2 works just fine for me.

Just got myself a nexus 7. Can't give a review or anything as I haven't even unboxed it yet. Personally, I wanted the nexus 10 but its just not in my budget right now. Little brother has an account through newegg so settled for that. Same price as it is through the play store too.

I've had a nexus 7 for a few months now. I love it. The constant android os updates are a huge plus for me. There's pretty good dev support, too. For the price, I'm shocked at how much I like it.
There are a few bugs with the screen. Some users report a horizontal line of burnt pixels developing, and other users report blurry edges. My nexus 7 developed the horizontal line last week. I made a three minute phone call and a new nexus 7 arrived two days later. Not bad at all. I've read the screen issues have been fixed as of now.
Oh, it's also easy as heck to root and maintain. Rooting took me less than 10 minutes from start to finish.
Edit:
It depends if u really want a similar experience as the skyrocket. I imagine the Samsung tablets may be a good pick. I found the uber clean stock Android 4.2 system on the N7 was simple enough for me to bounce and forth between the skyrocket and not go bald or blind from stress.

Tab 2 or...

Need some advice from users please,
Is the tab 2 still a decent huy? I cant justify that much money on the note 10.1, tab 2 or should i wait for the new asus memo pad thats out in a week or so?
How do good games play on the tab 2? Direcory bind works i guess? It will just be stock rooted.
Any answers would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I can say the Tab 2 7.0 isn't bad at all for the price. Stock does have IR but overall I love it. Although you will want some other opinions first

that's way too subjective.
if i could go back in time i'd take the nexus 7 32GB and avoid the "external SD" crap from this samsung. but overall sound, screen, speed, everything's good.
just compare prices and characteristics.
i bought to read books and watch videos mainly, playing games is just a plus.
i can tell you watching videos is great in this thing, very nice sound and screen resolution yet is my first tablet.
i guess if you're onto gaming go for the nexus which has 4 cores and excellent resolution. i ignore the characteristics from the other tablet you mention.
also i do not know the prices as i'm in latin america and everything's like 30% more expensive than in US or Europe (can you believe that? less income per capita and more expensive technology...pff!)
The thing is i had the N7 byt it became redundant when i got my note 2 size wise maybe i should of said i will be getting a ten inch version.. If it can handle real racing 3 im sold

Waiting for the Note 8. Had the Tab 2 7.0 for a long time but it seemed slow and the screen wasn't that great.
Note seems like an overall better package. I wonder what the next Nexus 7 will look like.

Question before i buy

Hello everybody!!
I just have a quick question before i purchase the 10.1... it has now been a full year since the original release of the 10.1 and im wondering if i should wait to purchase it or wait for an announcement for a new one? From my understanding is the Note 8.0 that came out this year was the "release" for this years note tablet? i would also like to hear your reviews on the tablet... yes i have read about the ups and downs of the tablet already but i would love to hear what you guys have to say!! I originally had the Samsung Galaxy Note (cell phone) and loved it but after having it for some time i felt like it was too big for my pocket, so i got the SIII when it came out... now i have the SIV... and let me tell you... i love this phone... but i hella miss the S Pen... so if you could fill me in on some stuff id greatly appreciate it!!!
Thanks in Advanced!!!
Apparently there is some new thing called the Ativ or something like that on the horizon. I don't know much more other than maybe around 700 bucks? There's always some new gizmo in the works.
I have an S4 also and its great. Get a cpen for it! There is a small tipped nonactive stylus made special for the s3 and s4. Not as good as an spen but works pretty good with smemo. Samsung or ikross makes them.

I love my Note 10.1. and I'm glad I did not wait last Dec. when I saw the deal I got ($385.00 delivered).
Don't wait, go get one. Why would you wait 4 to 6 more months and pay almost what I bet would be nearly triple the price of the Walmart deal now. Hey you could sell it on ebay in 6 months if you see one that you like more and if you get the 2 Year warranty with accident coverage for $36.00. (THAT IS A DEAL!!) you have not a worry that someone wouldn't buy it on ebay.
You could even save another $20 with this offer (Open a Walmart Credit Card, Spend $100 Today and Get $20 Back), and you get 6 months to pay with zero interest.
I may just go buy a 2nd one and give it to the Wife........ SHHHHHHH don't tell Her.
I still say wait , it will beb released by September's worth the wait imo, you will be ahead of the curve and the envy of your classmates, if the leaked benchmarks are true the thing is gonna be a beast, its only two months Wait! Lol

I'm in a similar situation, I'm looking at the Wal-Mart deal for 16g at $280 and also on what they gave them regularly for ~$380 32g (refurbished). Is the 32gig with $100 more?

Upgrade from GT-P7510?

Just wondering if it's worth the upgrade from my Samsung Galaxy Tab GT-P7150 to the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3?
It's going to be a gift so no cost to me, but my 7150 is still running everything I want and need just. So I can't decide if I should ask for something different in the same price range.
Thanks for any opinions :good:
Well I didn't wait for opinions and went ahead and got the GT-P5210.
