[Q] Headphone Audio quieter after 2.2?

After the update to stock 2.2 I noticed the headphone audio out is quieter than it was on stock 2.1. (Yes you can suggest a custom ROM but for my purposes I need to remain on stock). Has anyone else noticed this?
I've found several posts referring to the audio quality in 2.1 being low quality. Is there an audio specific kernel that controls the audio quality and output gain? If so, is it possible to change out only the audio kernel without flashing a custom ROM? As a heads up I'm already rooted.
Thanks in advance.

YES you can change the kernel to a different one but what ever kernel you decide you need a matching modem & Kernel so Cappy to Cappy...i9000 to i9000. Just keep in mind you need to change out your recovery.
I9000 kernels

Thanks SFernandez. I'll try this out when I get some free time. Gotta make sure the phone operates during business hours.
You can also search for the app "AudioBoost" on the market but it requires root permissions

Voodoo Control Plus on Infuse?

Has anyone tried Voodoo Control Plus on Infuse? It is not listed as a compatible device but I understand the Infuse has the same sound hardware as the Captivate. I miss Voodoo Sound from my Captivate:

That app is only a controller to the kernel patch that is required...which is why Infuse is not supported yet.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using XDA App
not supported yet, the patch h8trift is reffering to is in the app (plus version only) as a kernel module now but it doesnt recognise the infuse as a compatable device, im not sure how hard it is to modify the module or any scritps that verify the device but it may be posible to port it. supercurio has indicated that it is in his plans. though he has alot of things in his plans and has an sgs2 as well as a lg transformer now so it is probably not in his immediate plans. what i will say is that the headphones sound on the infuse is probably better than the sgs. same hardware but maybe they have a better driver or hardware layout because i cant detect a bit of noise and my headphones are quite sensitive.
this is just fyi but for those rooted but not using custom kernels or roms the infuse has been added to the supported list for voodoo control plus app. if you would like to donate to supercurio this app is a great way to do it. plus you will get any new versions of the voodoo sound driver before it gets integrated into a custom kernels, though im not sure if he will be developing new driver versions, it may just need support in the app for driver features that are already there. still a good idea for anyone notusinga custom kernel or who would like to support one of the most significant developers for the sgs line of phones

[Q] Audio quality of audiophile roms?

Im currently using Froyo/GB stock with Voodoo plus app. The headphone audio quality is very important for me and Voodoo does a very good job. I would like to know the audio quality of audiophile roms?. Are they better then stock+voodoo plus?. Why they are called audiophile?, whats in it?.

the audiophile roms have most of voodoo pre injected into them so negateing much the need for the actuall voodoo app. There is of course a few things that couldnt be inputed atm do to the fact a i might not know how to or just caused a issue with the device thats the diffrence.

[Q] Voodoo Sound

hey guys. I iust downloaded voodoo sound plus from the market, but it doesn't seem to.be making any difference. I've been messing with the toggles, and nothing I do has any effect on the sound, except for volume control. I have a pair of very nice Grados, so I don't think the problem lies there. I'm running Zeus Build 6 with Infusion A2 kernel. I made sure to turn on the kernel option thingie. Help is appreciated, as I'm really eager to get this up and running. Thanks!

[Q] Superlite ROM question about music.

I am currently using SUPERLITE CM10 JELLY BEAN RoM and I "LOVE" the music quality mostly using winamp and Pandora.
I tried out [UCLL3] SUPERLITE UNOFFICIAL SAMSUNG JB 4.1.2 >> 202mb << ROOTED - INSECURE KERNEL - INIT.D and it is just not the same. I really like this one and was hoping to switch to it, bu the music quality is not even close to the CM10 version.
All I use is volume+ on both of them and no matter how high I turn up the volume or bass or adjust the eq in volume+, I can't get the great sound as I get in the CM10 version. The only difference I noticed was that dspmanager was on the CM10 but not the leaked JB version. Not sure if that even affects the sound, but thought I would mention it.
I am staying on the CM10 version for now solely because of the music, but I really want to switch.
Lastly vincom is my hero on the superlite cm10 jb rom. I had tried so many jb roms a while back to get flash to work and I discovered this rom and the AWESOME sound it gets playing music, the bass especially. It just sounds so much more full and deep. Like I mentioned before, I can adjust the bass, etc on the the leaked jb version and it is so not there.
Sorry I can't ask this in the development thread.

Get rid of that volume+ junk and flash kingbeatz. Make sure you add the lines in the build.prop

it doesn't work with Pandora. Pandora bricks phones anyway so I don't use it.

It looked just like dspmanager which I could not get to work with Pandora either. I tried kingbeatz twice and let it go. It did sound good with win amp. Anyways, I am good to go now. Thanks for the info about Pandora.
