HP Ipaq hx2790 wpa2-psk issue!! - General Questions and Answers

Hey Fellas,
I got a IPAQ HX2790 PPC with wm6.5 installed in it. the issue is i couldn't get to my ppc to connect to any wpa2-psk secured networks. And i too got the solution of getting a update from hp. But here comes the real problem, wm6.5 is not officially released for hx2000 series so the update is only supports wm5. I searched everywhere for the update for wm6.5 . But of no use. Do anyone have alternative solutions for it. Maybe, like editing the file to get it supported for wm6.5. Thank you.

Blackberry Connect on Samsung i320

Hi Guys,
I know that the i320 isn't an HTC device, but I have sucessfully managed to get blackberry connect up and running on my Wizard and my work is hopefully about to supply me with an i320.
I realise that it's a smartphone and not a PPC, but I believe that there is some interoperablity between the two in WM5.
So my question is, will I be able to use the BB Connect that I use on my Wizard (downloaded from the ftp site) on the i320 or does anyone know of any varients for the smartphone platform?
Cheers!
anyone?
Even a little guidancee would be good! Thanks!
If you find a solution, let us all know
We are talking about this on the S620 aka Dash SP forum as well. We know that a SP client came out for WM 2003 in South Africa on the Vodacom network, but we haven't see one since. Where oh where, if at all, is the WM5 for Smartphone BB Connect client?
Here is the original BB Connect cab file for WM 2003
It would only install on a Moto MPx220 device running WM 2003 and gave a uncertified device error when I tried it on any other device. Any programmers out there want to give it a shot and change the cab file so it does not require a particular device to install on?
This one installs. I couldn't get it to work on my MPx200 w/ 2003.

Pocket Loox 600 upgrade to WM 2003

I know it is quite old ppc, but I have it and I woudl like to upgrade it to WM 2003 because i need some applications that do not work on 2002.
So, after "digging" into Google, I found out that the upgrade is posible, also places where rom (upgrade rom) was storerd has expired. So I do not now where to look.
If anyone have any idea where to found it or look for it, it would be nice to hear.
Thanks in advance

wm6 standard questions

hey guys (and girls where aplicable),
i got a question (a sorta dumb one). If a smartphone lik the iPAQ 514 Voice Messenger or the HTC Vox have windows mobile 6 standard does that mean they run regular windows mobile programs or smartphone versions? See the Cheeta/treo 750 has windows mobile standard ed. and is called a smartphone but it uses regular PPC programs, the other two mentioned before have the same wm6 but no touch screen. so i was wondering if that made a diference in the phones capabilities to use PPC Progs? I appreciate any answers as i am greatly puzzled and intregued buy this.
With WM6 they dispensed with the term "smartphone" in favour of WM 6 Standard. Too many non Windows Mobile phones were being called "smart phones" as well as PPC phones.
WM Standard has no support for touch screens and many PPC apps will not run on it.
WM Pro has touchscreens.
understanding versions...
so lemmie go over this... a ppc with a touch screen is said to run WM6 pro, a ppc without a touch screen is said to run wm6 standard the "smartphone" version. so what of the vox? it has all the capabilities of a full sized PPC without the touch screen so where would it and the ipaq 514 fit in? Because correct me if i'm wrong but dont they offer features like MS Office editing and production verus the others whose ability is limited to viewing or is it the WM6 platform that actually enables this?
You're right, its just a functionality of WM6. Any smartphone (i.e. non-Touch screen device) running WM6 has those same office capabilities and will be running WM6 Standard, not Professional.
As far as I know the two WM6 are one same core of the same OS but..
In the PPC version there is more advanced setup in the menus wich setup is locked in the Srtandard by default.
For example in the Standard there is no way to change the IP of the wi-fi manually.
And in the pocket pc there is some dll's, responsible for touchscreen operation .
yes but....
i do believe you might be correct on everything but the I.P setup for standard. i have an sda running wm6 and i can manually setup my wifi and change certain settings in the network config. Also the HP ipaq 514 that i've been researching also has the same features. see my big thing is i love he compact size of the smart phone but need the capabilities of the PPC. It wold be great if i could get the best of both. i know the O2 XDA stealth has that exact combo but they are hard to find and kinda pricey for thier age.
There are separate SDKs for Standard and Pro, so I think the differences run a little deeper.
well what to do?
well i guess my final questions then wuld be what kind of phone are:-
1/ O2's xda stealth
2/ HP's Ipaq 514

Compaq Ipaq H3900

Hi guys. I have a Ipaq H3900, would i be able to test some of the roms on this device. I have a X1 wich is my work phone and woul like to flash the ipaq to test all sorts of roms. I know it would not be a exact test but i would be able to see how the rom looks and the programs loaded?
hey there,
I just undusted a iPAQ H3900 myself and wonder if there is any upgrade possible.
PocketPC 2002 premium is installed and I like to have some newer WM systems tried.
Had you found anything ??
