Hi,
I sometimes use my mobile for business calls and would like to hide my caller ID when doing so, I know you can find the option under: Settings > Other Call Settings Section > Additional settings > Caller ID
I also know you can add codes to front of numbers to hid it, but I was just wondering if there was a application that can simple toggle it on and off without going into the menus.
Thanks

I'm not sure if you're still looking but I found this today and it's works pretty well.

After I've reset my Nexus S a few days ago... It makes all my calls shown as private number to others. Does anyone of you fellas know, how to change it back so my phone number is shown?
I'm using A.V. 4.0.3.
In advance thank you.
Open up contacts and go into settings. You'll find it in "Additional Settings".
It's no longer in the contacts settings with ICS, it's now in the Phone app settings.
Open the Phone app, go to Menu > Settings > Additional settings > Caller ID.
hi i have question how do i change the name that appears to people when i call them. it always appears like private and i cant find the option on settings i used to know how on Gingerbread but now that i am on ICS i have no clue, i have a Nexus s btw
Open up the "Phone" app, press menu and have a look around. They've moved it from system settings.
From phone app, press menu then setting. Its the first choice after you choose additional settings.
Is there a native setting for this or a way to get to call settings ? because all i can find are instructions for android 4.x.x which reference tapping the settings in the phone app but on android 5 you can't get to call settings that way
Can on mine. Three dots menu button > settings
found a far simpler way to do it from my network
Being Quick settings accessible from the bottom only, a lot of applications are not able to access notification area , like "popup notification app" is unable to give "pop up notification" at all. Any suggestions or help..

I just watched review on Phone Dog and his phone has regular android quick setting bar on top. Was it different in review models and they changed it afterwards ?
Actually other reviews have it that way as well. Is there a way to enable that ?
My contact settings include photos in the phone app.
When those people call me their caller ID and number are shown on the incoming calling screen but not their photo.
I note that if I disable the default phone app and use a 3rd party app (True Phone), there is no caller screen at all, just ringing. Therefore, there is no way to answer the phone. So, the default phone app has to run and the incoming calling screen must be generated by that app. However, I cannot find the setting and of course I can't find any setting for including the photos.
Could someone please help me include the photos of contacts in the incoming calling screen?
Thanks
On my phone with Android 7.0, I can set a photo for a contact only if the contact info is saved in phone other than in SIM card.
After a contact photo has been set, the photo will be shown on the incoming calling screen.
I don't believe that I am using contacts from SIM but the phone.
But, how do I tell?
I can't find that setting either.
I am using Android V6.0.1 (Marshmallow).
Edit: Just noticed that a picture is indeed showing but it is so dark that I didn't notice it before. However, I also notice on the picture there is a word written saying "Unknown" in the middle of the picture. What does that mean?
Just updated the stock Phone app and the picture now shows correctly.
However, the sticking problem of the "Unknown" is still shown.
I have attached a screenshot of the phone's call screen showing the picture and the word "Unknown" in the middle". I have blurred the phone number and street name.
Hope this helps someone point me to find the cause of this.

If all your incoming calls are showing as unknown, contact your service provider and ask if there is a problem with your account (service?) as it may not be a problem in your phone.
But if only incoming calls from some particular contact are showing as unknown, contact this guy and ask if he/she has hidden his/her caller id in his/her phone settings.
For example, setting to turn off Caller ID on a Huawei P9 as below.
Open Phone app,
then tap Menu icon > Settings > Additional Settings > Caller ID > Hide Number
Be aware that the number is only hidden on Voice calls not on SMS/MMS.
I think I may have tracked down the problem.
It's not the account or service provider.
I use a 3rd party lock screen (Start). I didn't think about looking at this because the incoming caller screen is generated by the default google phone app. But, if I disable the Start lock screen and go to the default screen the incoming caller screen does not have the "Unknown" banner. Therefore, I believe that the Start lock screen intercepts the incoming caller screen and inserts the "Unknown" banner for some reason. I am unable to find any setting in Start to remove this so I have emailed the authors and now have to wait for their response.
While I am on the incoming caller screen, where can I find the settings for the incoming caller screen?
