Themeing note 10.1 - Galaxy Note 10.1 Themes and Apps

So I started working on a theme for my note 10.1, is going good so far but ran in to a little snag. The problem is when iedit the notifications background it seems to shrink for no reason. The resolution of the image hasn't changed just modified the colour. As you can see in the image below 1 being where 2 should be. And number 3 has developed a gap for some reason even though it hasn't been modified,. Any help would be much appreciated.

Looks like you edited a .9.png file. You need to maintain the 9 patch when editing the file. You have to decompile the apk then edit images. If you look on the border of 9 patch images you'll see black dots or lines you need to make sure they remain solid black and do not edit or move them.

Can you point me in the right direction on how to do that, this is my first attempt at something like this, I don't know what a 9.png file is how do I maintain the "9" what ever that is. I have been using 7zip to extract the res file editing the files then injecting them back in to the systemui.apk

Go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1454802 and you will see it is pretty simple. You just swap your pics(pngs) inside defaultthemes.apk. Look inside res/drawable-hdpi to see pics. Best bet is to rename the defaultthemes.apk to zip file extension(defaultthemes.zip) when editing on computer and unzip it to see pics easier. Then swap out whatever you want but keep the names of pngs the same & then rezip it and change the end back to apk. The rest is explained in the link I posted. lol.

Sorry man, I didn't think it could brick or bootloop phone if you were editing your own defaultthemes.apk and you changed the permissions before you drop it into the system/app folder. And usually only replacing the framework-res.apk will ever bootloop phone when I'm messing with files in system/app folder. Do you remember when your phone started bricking. What did you do(if u remember) & what model of Xperia play are you on? R800i or R800x? GSM or CDMA?

I can make one that you just flash over? What color/colors?
Just the basic android blue to match the rest of the notification bar with the percentage in the center. And will this be compatible cm10 with a Sgt7 build.

I had it working, but now it doesn't show up, I'll look more into it. When I find out what happened I'll get back to you.
No, I just USD root explorer and extracted it, then edited what I wanted and zipped it, then used ipthemer o make the systemui. And for the framework I just extracted it, then write what I wanted then ziped it, renamed to .apk instead or .zip, and in terminal emulator I used
such
CD sdcard
Sh reframe.sh
I used propc's reframe scripts to change it, I spent 5 hours last night. And still nothing, I'll continue work on this, and I won't give up.
Ive tried to make one for jb, but every time i do the battery icon disappears.
Here is what i did. You need a SystemUI from ics and jb .I do this meathod so I don't get decompile/recompile errors in apktool.
1. Open both the JB and ICS apks in separate archive mannager windows.
2. Drag the resources.arsc, AndroidManifest.Xml, and Res folder from the JB apk, into the ICS apk
3. decompile your modified ICS APK
4. make your changes
5. Recompile modified ICS apk
6 move whatever you changed back into the JB apk using an archive manager.
7.test and watch it fail
Maybe my way is right but my battery icons are too big. What do y'all think(Texan accent)
Im testing something i will report back if i get anything
Tests I've done:
Does zipalighning cause any issues >RESULT=no
Does decompiling then recompiling cause issues >RESULT=yes
More to come

But before you put the xml into the apk it needs to be compiled. If you look into a systemui that u havnt modded and look at the battery xml, you wont be able to read it because it is compiled for android to read it

[Q&A] [MOD] On-screen navigation bar 23.3.23

Q&A for [MOD] On-screen navigation bar 23.3.23
Some developers prefer that questions remain separate from their main development thread to help keep things organized. Placing your question within this thread will increase its chances of being answered by a member of the community or by the developer.
Before posting, please use the forum search and read through the discussion thread for [MOD] On-screen navigation bar 23.3.23. If you can't find an answer, post it here, being sure to give as much information as possible (firmware version, steps to reproduce, logcat if available) so that you can get help.
Thanks for understanding and for helping to keep XDA neat and tidy!
Dr. Carpenter said:
Nobody, anywhere, ever, is liable for anything you do to your device
Here is a flashable zip for the on-screen navigation bar on the latest OTA (23.3.23). It will also disable the capacitative buttons, but does not disable the lighting, although that can be done easily with GravityBox[KK].
Flash in TWRP recovery. Flash the revert file to return to stock to accept future OTA's.
Neither file should flash on any other system than 23.3.23 on the Droid Ultra or Maxx, so there is little to no risk of damage, but you are solely responsible for your device.

Gotta love the QA bot... Had no notification for your post. Anyway, I don't have an update yet for 24, but probably will tomorrow. It does appear that the update does have a patch for the framework file that this mod changes, so do not flash this version on 24. It should fail the compatibility check and abort anyway, but just don't do it lol.

Yeah, sorry, I've been meaning to get this done, just been crazy busy.
You'll need to have some form of apktool installed (I use android multitool, on mobile right now so no link, sorry). Pull framework-res.apk from system/framework. Decompile it using apktool.
In the decompiled folder, navigate to /res/values and open bools.XML. Notepad++ works great.
Go to around line 71 and change the "shownavigationbar" value from false to true. Then around line 178 change "config_showmenubar" from true to false.
Save the XML, and compile using apktool. Be sure to follow the directions to replace the manifest and meta-inf folder. I use 7zip for that.
Then, use 7zip again to replace the apk in the installer zip with the one you just edited. I would first make a copy of the installer and rename to reflect the new system version.
Finally, in 7zip, pull out the file META-INF/com/google/android/updater-script. Open in notepad++, and edit the ro.build.version.full line to match the new system. You can find this in the build.prop using root explorer on your phone. If this doesn't match, it won't install.
Save the file, and copy it back into the installer in 7zip, replacing the old one.
Flash and enjoy
Edit: this is off the top of my head, so if anything is wrong/doesn't work, let me know

First of all, google qmg to png converter. Find the one that is an an apk. It will convert and put files right on your phone. Only replace the pngs you want to modify so you don't make the apk too big. As far as the dialer background, you need to write the background in in your styles.xml. it has gotten a little harder on 4.4.4. Look for DeviceDefault and stay there.

Put the icons in whatever folder they came out of.. Probable drawable-sw360dp-xxhdpi and delete the qmg or astc file with the same name. You have to search for the colors. They are not all in one place.

How to make your Smart Notice Transparent

1. Your G3 must be rooted
2. You need a root explorer
3. Go-to /system/etc/mrg_default_forms/ConciergeBoard/default_view/container/res
4. Use your root explorer and rename drawable-xxxhdpi to drawable-xxxhdpi-temp
5. Rename drawable-xxxhdpi-tahitiblue to drawable-xxxhdpi
6. Rename back drawable-xxxhdpi-temp to drawable-xxxhdpi-tahitiblue
7. Now you have to tweak the setup file
8. Go-to /system/etc/mrg_default_forms/ConciergeBoard/default_view/container
10. Edit concierge.css
11. I was changed the bottom notification box stripe because font was white:
#dailyBriefingText {
display: inline-block;
margin-left: 10px;
vertical-align: middle;
overflow: hidden;
width: 277px;
font-size: 14px;
font-weight: bold;
font-family: 'sans-serif';
color: #FFFFFF;
12. Save and go-to settings and re-select LG Theme and you now got a transparent widget.
13. Depend on you wallpaper you should have to play with font colors using HTML values.
I tried to rename the xxxdpi-tahitiblue but it says task failed it's also one that already says It

Can someone copy the files from their phone and put them up to download? I stupidly didn't make a backup before I did this because it seemed easy enough and apparently I didn't do it right and now I cant fix it.. Please.
Can this be done on the accuweather widget?
Edit: found the G3 zooper widget has the same but it does not work on lollipop.
Thanks for the trick. But after doing it the weather animation on the lock screen works no more for me.
I don't know if it's trick related problem... Someone else encountered the same issue?
Edit. Just reboot and it solved. I'm sorry for the alarm.

Thanks for the trick mate!
But which parameter is the transparency one? This makes it like 80% transparent.
Edit
Was able to modify the background image files to full transparency. But another question is, can we modify the buttons and accuweather labels as well?.

Hey people. I have been trying to change this font color for the cards, but for the life of me cannot find it. Any ideas?
I know I can do the switch to Tahiti blue like the main widget, but that huge "x" annoys the scrap outta me. tia
THanks for developers whos made it....Its so helpfully for me...Cause i like transparent weather rather than stock weather cloudy g3...Thx again..
I'm just guessing as I don't have the cards up but it might be the "#cardNumberBadge"
Try to change the "color: white;" part there.
thanks for sharing, is it possibly for a flashable zip?
