Missing phonetic as well. Let us know if you find a solution, without installing 3rd party keyboard.
Thanks

Yes. I did it (for samsung Note N7000). It's here.
Just replace this over the original one in \\system\app\ and set permissions to rw- r-- r-- and restart.

hi
I have the jelly bean update already for a while and using snote again.
I wanted to use handwriting, but the samsung keyboard crashes instantly.
even after reboot or restartn of the app.
in the input settings it gives me a option of google and samsung keyboard whereas samsung is ticked and I cant untick it.
anybody has a idea on this???
thx
You cannot untick it as that is more of an option to give you options of what keyboard to select there is no google keyboard its voice.
Are you rooted because yours is a very stage problem
Try this go to application Manager - All Apps - Samsung Keyboard and select clear data see if that works
After doing the above, if you can get into settings, there should also be updates for the languages. Try updating your language choice.
There are two seperate language settings - one for the typing keyboard and one for handwriting. Go in to Settings>Language and input>Samsung keyboard settings>Handwriting>Input languages and make sure the language you're using is set properly and accept an update if it's offered.
Hi @ all
my language Was set for German And English
the reset helped
thanks to you all
May be it is because of that not sure Barry may be able to tell for certain but did you try keep both the languages same because theoraticaly it should not work with two different languages
Um... can I use handwriting to type on it? I have the N8013 and I can't tick or select "handwriting" in the Language and Inputs. There is no text box. I tried to see if I could write in the "split keyboard" layout. If this is not where you do it, can you please assist me? Can it only be done in the S Note app?

That's how I found out there were two seperate handwriting language settings. When I updated to the BTU JB ROM I lost all ability to use handwriting; the option (shown below) wasn't offered. For some reason no language was set in the handwriting settings. When I selected U.S. English it actually had to be downloaded. It was fine after that and the option reappeared.
Mine looks different. Samsung Keyboard. N8013

Iam using swiftkey keyboard on my Note 1 N7000 and love the arrows feautre to move between words to correct or change words, this feature is not available for swiftkey keyboard tablet version,or the stock keybord, any other recommendations?
I admit this is a major failing for Swiftkey keyboard, which is otherwise a cracking keyboard.
Thumb keyboard has multiple layouts for tablets and also includes arrow keys.
will look at it, do you use it? how is it compared with swiftkey?
Edit
ooops, does not support my native language (Arabic):crying:
Have you tried Hacker's Keyboard in the Play Store. I think it is one of the best layouts available.

Just another tip (especially for those needing some greek letters for math symbols, i.e. α, β, γ, δ, ε, θ, λ, μ, π, ρ, φ, ψ, ω, Γ, Π, Σ, Φ, Ψ, Ω....)
You may ask yourself (as I did): "How can I insert all those symbols if there's no "sym" button?"
Simple answer: in the "Settings" - "Input languages" select "Eλληνικά [el]" (Greek) as an additional input language. After that, with a quick slide on the spacebar, you'll have all those Greek letters in the Greek keyboard layout.
Other examples of symbols that can be typed with the "Hacker's keyboard" are:
≤, ≥, ≈, √, ā, ∞ (x±y)²=x²+y²±2x•y
And, if you use the the Circle key another plenty of exotic symbols can be added, such as
♥ ⓚ a₁ ⅘2ⁿ...
(see this and this links)
It would be much simpler by using the traditional ALT+CharCode combination for the Ascii characters, but I didn't find a way to use that method (the Alt key seems not to combine with the character numeric code).

Have you tried enabling the "Sliding key events" in the options? I've tried and it seems it doesn't actually work to be used as a swipe feature. But I'm no "swipe" expert so I can't be sure....

Take a look at Kii. Got it today after seeing this thread and doing a bit of looking. Liking it so far. Arrows, numerics, special characters with long press and several templates.

Another great keyboard is Ultra keyboard. One time it was very famous. I have been using it for a few years now.
Hey Guys,
Is there any way to modify the keyboard as LG G3's keyboard ? I want features like one handed use and flexible height for the keyboard.

You can download the LG keyboard, I was using it on my s5. The link is somewhere here on xda
I'm in this same boat. So use to using a Note device with the keyboard shifted to the right that having it take up the entire screen looks crazy to me. I installed Swype but don't see it anywhere in the settings. Any suggestions how how to enable that? Thanks.
Update: Finally figured it out in Swype. Not intuitive at all, but to do it, it's Go to Settings, Themes, and then tap the gear at the top-right.
this way you can make your google keyboard as tall as you want https://goo.gl/g9mcEM
Hello everybody,
since the upgrade to Android 6 I had problem with the Google keyboard, basically I can't choose any language but English (US) and Tibetan!
I tried to download old versions of Google keyboard through APKmirror but the only result is that I don't get anymore Tibetan as option.
Logcat doesn't give any useful information.
Upgrading another H60-L12 of a friend we encountered the very same issue.

I need at least Italian, but I was used to have few other languages that I use less often
and I'm studying. It's very strange that I can't see the other dictionaries...
Of course now I'm using SwiftKey but I prefer gboard, I find it much more faster and comfortable.
I got the same problem. It's crashing when I try to access the settings.
I use German and English. But when I'm typing only English dictionary is available although I see "DE EN" in the space bar.
But I cannot switch between these languages.
I've also installed APK manually but this didn't help either.
Any ideas how to resolve this issue?
From Gboard
Hold the comma key.
Select languages.
Turn off Use System Language.
Select the language you need
Hold space bar to select languages
Quite surprising you're getting only two language options. Not so for me. I'm using H60 L04

I've done as described. I can switch now language but the dictionary is still English only.
When I hold comma key and select Gboard settings and try to get into menu item "settings" then it crashes again. The same when I try to access "advanced settings".
So Gboard is still failing.

I use standard ROM, no custom ROM.
Updated via OTA
Android 6
Build H60-L04C432B860
So why should the standard ROM not have built in the languages?
That u cant say. Couldn't find a way to add languages too. You should stick to other keyboards then. Try Xperia keyboard. It's nice

The latest version that I see on the play store has been published on 10 Jan and it has the problem described at the beginning.
I found a newer version (not sure about the origin, it has a different icon) on apkmirror but it has problems with the resolution and in any case the dictionary problem is still there.
Did you find a working version?
I have been trying to find a custom keyboard that I can add in integration like emojis or clipboard stuff like that but I can't find any dose anyone know any apps that I can do that
Have you tried Microsoft SwiftKey?
