Hey guys,
i am new here, but i've been watching this forum a long time for now on.
At this moment I have a problem with setting up an Exchange for my mail acc (university).
Setup going fine and it can be completed, but after some time (30-40min), windows asked me for password because of my
password that i typed in is wrong.
The curious things are, I can read my mails after retyping the password or when I hit the return key.
Does anyone have the same problem?
Thanks in advance
For me there is no problem, I setup my private Exchange (2010) Account and everything work well.
On WP8 with my Lumia 820, I received only a warning regarding the certificate like on other OS's and that was it.
Oh really?
I have installed the certificate from my university but i didnt change anything .
Is there a option that an administrator should do to allow WP8?
I tried to search on my Exchange (2010) for an option for WP8, but cant find one.
Microsoft said that WP8 will be supported by every Exchange Server, I found this by Google.
Which Version of Exchange Server do you have on your University?
We have Exchange 2003.
Okay, I tried Google and found that it must work.
From Windows Phone 8 Security Overview:
Windows Phone 8 is compatible with version 14.1 of the Exchange ActiveSync protocol and supports synchronizing email, calendar, task, and contact information with Exchange Server 2003 SP2 and subsequent releases or with Microsoft Office 365.
One post on XDA, but another problem:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1912071
The only thing maybe, if you have self signed certificates at your university, you have also to install the Root-CA certificate!
And maybe is the Exchange 2003 not up to date, SP2 installed?
Thanks for your help and replies.
I don't know which SP is installed :-/
I checked the homepage of my university and i found a root CA, that i've installed on my phone.
At the Homepage I also found that Windows Phone is supported.
After round about 40min, the ask for retyping the password appears .
It's really strange.
EDIT:
I found this page: http:**social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/Forefrontedgegeneral/thread/6999b88e-ada4-45c5-ad33-55905db0f0df/#a1bacca1-40ac-4e09-af79-1178fad860b5
And finally i wrote an email to our support with this link.
EDIT 2:
I've got an email from our support, they have changed the settings (settings can be found in that link above).
Until yet it worked perfect.
Thanks for Help!

Hi all,
I am not sure whether I am completely right now, but I am quite sure I have never seen an entry called "PUSH" in my Outlook mail accounts list on my Vox before.
But now it is there, along with my ActiveSync account, a Windows Live account and 3 imap accounts.
I cannot access any settings nor can I delete it.
Does anybody know what it is for? And where it comes from?
Many thanks and have a lovely day

Push mail is instant mail. You get it when you connect to a exchange server.
Just another question...
Hi,
many thanks for the answer. I am aware what pushmail is.
Just I was concerned as I have for sure not set up this "PUSH" account. But now it is there.
Is it automatically created whenever I configure my exchange account for push mail? Is this the secret behind?
I was just surprised as of why this is not hidden or so, as there is no obvious use for it.
Thanks
Andi
hey guys even i have the same thing..it occured suddenly in my s710...can anyone explain me what is that clearly..
i got the same, and the strange thing is that when i configured an exchange server, that one was added as outlookmail and still there is an empty push item!
???
Did you install the jb5 browser recently? This installs a WAP Push account which appears in the mail application, in the settings of this browser you can disable it and after a soft reboot the account disappears.
you are totally right my friend!
I tried to install jb5. that didnt work because I got an 'installation unsuccesful', but since then the pushmail is there.
do you know how to install/deinstall jb5 on wm6.1?
so, I cannot use the jb5 browser to delete the push mail. You know how to do it manually?
I've not been able to install it since upgrading to WM6.1, however, for me, the unsuccessful install didn't add the account to the Mail app. I have no idea how to get rid of accounts that can't be accessed apart from the obvious of a hard reset...
Solved !!!
Hi,
thank you very much. Yes, I have installed JB5 browser and this was exactly the root cause.
Now I removed it successfully and I am happy again.
Great community here, many thanks!!!

i have checked in all opereating systems of windows CE in almost all devices
but there is no support for lotus based emails servers wheather i am contecting via gprs or wi fi
the email box opens perfectly but the buttons of forward reply bcc cc are not visible,
i have done jave aplets and this and that but the problem is still there
now thinking to switch on blackberry for the push email facility
or anyone can tell me that any application can help me
now a days um using treo 750v with wm 6
we have it at work, i'll see if I can find the details for you. Notes/Domino are the biggest pieces of **** i've used in my life (that and the several thousand lotus notes "applications" we have)
cud'nt get u
what application i need for this problem?????
would your goodself be that much kind to tell me in brief?????
Ignoring the anti-Domino stance of the first respondent i would suggest you investigate CommonTime. They do a server side push email system designed for WM devices as well as Symbian.
If what you are looking for is a mobile version of DWA then i think you are going to have to wait until your Domino servers are upgraded to version 8.
oh my God
i cant bel that i gonna have solve my problem of email
that was a kind info thx
let me try that soft first
You may also want to try out Seven Beta, they also do a push email soultion for Domino/Exchange and all manner of third party POP/SMTP servers.
Forgot to add this is also a FREE option.

If your domino server is on version 8 or above you can use IBM Notes Traveler http://www-01.ibm.com/software/lotus/products/notes/traveler.html
it's far better than MSFT solution because it allows you to replicate signed and encrypted email. that's only my opinion

I helped a client set up a new Moto Q 9c last week using OWA synchronization. When she got to her office today and opened Outlook, none of the email came in to her Inbox. Is there a Leave mail on server option in Windows Mobile for mail coming from an Exchange Server, and if so, where would I find it?
Thanks,
Cathy
to my knowledge, it should be kept on the server anyway.. just like regular poutlook
she's getting all mail to her ppc and then it gets deleted from the server?
That's what I assumed would happen. If she leaves her desktop Outlook open, they come in there. Haven't heard back whether they're also coming into the PDA, but assuming so.

Hi Cathy, thats wierd, i use exchange email regularly and never had that problem. Did she accidentally delete the messages on her device and synced(which would explain the empty inbox)?
I use original 6.1 wwe rom and there is no option like that, im not that familiar with the Q9c, is that 6.1 too? WHen she is getting used to it, it might be safer to manually sync on her device instead of when items arrive, that way they are safe on the server, but does kind of defeat the point i guess lol.
I installed ActiveSync on her computer yesterday, synchronized with the Q, and after a couple of hours she said everything appeared to be working properly. Fingers crossed! Thanks for your response.
Hey all,
I have a HTC Touch phone through Bell and have my hotmail account setup on it to receive emails from my account. The problem I am having is that it will only allow me to see the latest 50 emails.
Does anyone know how to change this value? Is there a registry hack/setting/etc that can be changed?
I saw one "solution", which was setting up your account through outlook instead, but then there isn't push, and that's why I use it.
Any help is GREATLY appreciated!
There is no solution to this as far as i am aware. I am using a different client to push hotmail to my trinity and had the same issue. All i could see was the top 50 messages in my inbox, as newer ones were deleted then older ones would synch across. Checking with them it was confirmed that the 50 message limit was imposed by Microsoft.
help
i am Sooooooo frustrated.
i thought i finally found the answer to my problems in windows live.
My wm6.1 phone is SOOOOOO unreliable when i need it to download/send emails.
I set up a hotmail account and configured windows live on my phone only to find out that i can only SEE MY LATEST 50 EMAILS!!!
WHY WOULD THEY DO THIS?!?!?!?!?
They create a solution to smtp/imap/pop3 problems in windows live and then they make it unusable for ANYONE!
What other solutions are available?
I will never purchase another windows mobile phone again. Apparently this has been a problem for a long time and they have yet to address it...
ugh

This isn't a windows mobile problem but a MS Live problem.
I am trying to setup a WP7 Outlook, but it won`t connect to a company Exchange Server.
Always getting error- Error code: 80072EE7.
I have read on web that certificates needs to be installed on wp7. I did it, but no luck.
I used to synch this exchange account on my HTC Evo 4G.
Any ideas how to fix issue?
I wish WP7 had a better way to load self-signed certificates.
Best way to install a cert is to e-mail it to yourself using a Gmail account, set up the Gmail account on WP7, open the e-mail and the resulting certificate attachment, and then install the certificate.
Thanks for response,
But,
Everywhere on web people talking about certificates and no one says which particular cert needs to be installed.
I tried with verisign, Microsoft root authorication and other kind public certificates. But issue still persist.
Who knows where can I get the exact certificate from?
Also make sure you are putting in the local domain
(whateveryourdomain.local)
It is required for WP7 unless your username has the domain in it.
For cert... here is what one user said...
1. went to google chrome on my desktop, spanner, options, under the hood, manage certificates.
2. go trusted root certificate authorities.
3. found the certificate from our server.
4. exported it as a DER encoded binary X.509 (.cer) file to the desktop
5. emailed it to my godaddy account on my WP7 phone.
6. clicked on the link installed it AND THEN created the outlook account on my WP7 phone.
IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOT HAVE ANY OUTLOOK ACCOUNTS ACTIVE WHEN INSTALLING THE CERTIFICATE.
thanks for all your help guys!
yes, sure I have local domain:
\whatever - this is what i used on android outlook settings.
how to know which one is our server certificate?
in WP 7 though you don't need a slash. just the domain name when it asks for it.
For the cert... can you get to your mail server via web mail?
For ours in IE9, i just click the lock by the address bar and hit view certificate. Also if you know your Exchange admin, ask him to send it to you via the hotmail account. they you can just click on it and install it.
I believe we do not use any certificate. probably we use public certificates. i do not see lock next to address bar.
Does you host require on device encryption?
Does your company provide instructions for other phones? I may be able to tell you or translate them to how it works in windows phone.
No lock? go to advanced in account and uncheck ssl. I think its on by default.
If that doesn't work pm me the the web outlook address an i can tell u if there is one on there at least.
still cannot synch my outlook account. is there any new ideas?
The only thing left i can say is talk to your exchange admin / tech support. All the settings seem correct for a normal setup. Maybe they are using on device encryption... the only thing that windows phone really doesn't support for exchange, or maybe there is a setting we don't know that they will tell you.
The questions to ask are -
Does it require on device encryption?
Is the certificate required the same one outlook webmail uses as that is the one i walked you through installing?
Is the mail server address the same as outlook webmail minus the owa?
What is the local domain of the mail server? (that is different then the mail server address in most cases)
Does the username have to be whole email address? domain\username? or just username
Does the exchange admin have to add my phone?
Hope that helps get your questions answered.
I need some help also. I had my exchange account on my phone until my comp did server upgrades. This knocked me off as they say this will only support Blackberry and iPhone, don't ask me why. So I was able to setup my exchange account on my Android Epic 4g after trying for a week, as I figured if an iPhone can access it my Android should also. But I have tried the same settings from my Android phone on my WP7 and no luck.
After reading this it looks like I need to follow the above mentioned steps to manually add a sec cert to get it working just right?
I really want my exchange account on my WP7, sucks trying to be on the phone and not be able to download attachments cause you are talking on the phone that gets the email.
Any help would be great!
Did you mean to include a URL or two in there? Anyhow, setting up WP7 to work with Exchange should be pretty easy, although I'm not sure it will do EAP with anything older than 2007 (though IMAP on older servers will work fine). Both of my phone's synced Exchange accounts were set up easily and automatically by just telling it to add the email address; it found the servers and automatically configured the accounts.

Did they post instructions on what was needed to get an iphone on it? Should be similar with windows phone. For the cert, once you get it, email it to your hotmail and open it. THat will install it.

other co-workers have their iphone's working just fine. I will get a hold of one and see if any settings in there make it work.
but again i got it setup on my android phone without much issue and those same settings won't work on my WP7. it errors about the cert.
as stated I can click the lock and view the cert from web access but how do I email it to myself? i don't see a export option.
lastly, they block any IP but intranet IPs to access the mail.companydomain.com so the cert from there may not even help?!?!?
to access mail from home/laptop i have outlook setup so no need to access via the web.
any help you can give to get this working would be great!! and yes IT won't give my squat.
Have you tried manual setup. That's what mine requires. I put in my email address and password but it never gets it. I then click on manual and add
Login name: whatdoyaknow
Domain: ad.xxx.com (actually mine is more complex than that, but start with ad.)
Server: exchange.xxx.com (again more complex)
I need certificates for most things, but this seems to work ok.
Actually I still have problems getting WM6.5 to connect, but WP7 goes ok with the above.
