Google requests - Samsung Infuse 4G

Besides not loading Google Apps like Google Reader, is there anyway to stop the annoying "Google needs permission" request that are constantly popping up. I keep saying no but "apparently, no doesn't mean no" with Google.

If you go under the System Settings, then under security, uncheck "Verify Apps"

Thanks. I am sure they will still datamine but what I don't know won't hurt me,..LOL.
Hour later...still getting Permission Requested.

You did uncheck the option that "wingcook" posted? Is this happening when you restore apps via tibu or when installing via GPlay?

I know this works for TB. With it unchecked, I don't get any warning from TB or from play store.

Yeppers, I unchecked it. I do tibu. Since it was Google + and Google Reader making the requests and I don't use them, I uninstalled them. Hopefully, problem solved.

[Q] Titanium backup - attach to market

In Titanium Backup, if long-pressing on an app there's an option to Attach to Market. My thinking is that with this option, if I have an app on my phone that was not downloaded from the Market, I could 'attach to market' in order to receive update notifications for the app.
Is this wrong? Because I've attached an app to the market via titanium backup, but it doesn't show under My Apps in the Market.
Thanks for the help/clarification!
Yes, when you buy an app from the market, it comes almost like it's signed or something. There is a verification of it somewhere on the google servers. That's why it tells you download denied. Hope that helps a bit... So all amazon free apps must wait for amazon to update

so to clarify, if i download an app (.apk) and copied it to my sd card, then installed it on my phone and 'attached' it to the market via titanium backup, it won't really do anything? like, this doesn't make the market think i downloaded it from the market?
For paid apps, no... If you attach to market then clear market data and reboot phone, it could show up under your app lost... But if you try and update it... It will tell you update declined... So basically yeah, force attach doesn't really do much in that situation

[Q] friendcaster problem

I dont know how many of u use friendcaster, but if u do maybe u can help. For some reason every few days i will try to open the app and it will say something about invalid login and that i need to sign in again, only the error message stays on the bottom of the screen basically blocking 75% of the keyboard (makes it kinda hard to sign back in) but even when i do sign back in, the error message doesnt go away and i have to restart the phone. Any ideas?
Never used the app. But have you tried clearing the data for it? Or reinstalling it?

both actually :-/
I have it on my tablet and have never encountered that. When clearing data/un installing reboot into recovery before reinstalling and wipe cache and dalvik then boot and reinstall
You may need to remove the app from Facebook, also go to your settings and then applications and then click on the "X" next to FriendCaster.
When it says "login via the application" in the error dialogue, it actually means the Facebook API as "the application" vs. FriendCaster. This means that the app has lost its API credentials and can't connect to your Facebook account.

Weird market error

Ok. So I keep getting this error message when I try to download apps. It doesn't happen to all of them. Weird thing is I can download this app to my transformer with no problems and once it's downloaded to that I can download it on my phone using the my apps section. I'm stock rooted cwm touch recovery. I've cleared market data and wiped cache several times. Any help would be great.

Just clear the data for Google Services Framework.
Seems to work since I've done that and wipe Google play data again and rebooted. Thank you so much

I used to get a similar error back in the android market days. Some gentle google searches led me to believe it has to do with downloading too many apps in a short time period.

Np, had the same problem but it would happen with every download.
Interesting pwhoeler, I wonder if its too many in a short period of time, or too many at the same time (Or both) - may have to play with it.

Had this same issue.
For folks new to this Google Services Framework can be found: Settings>Application Manager>"ALL" Tab">Google Services Framework>Clear Data
Yea. It had nothing to do with downloading to many apps. Once I cleared the Google services data and market data again it was fine after aafter a reboot

There is a modified play store app on xda somewhere that disables apps from even checking for updates so there is no automatic d/l's but for the life of me I can find it. I had it on my old d3 that just died but didn't have a backup of it. If u find it b4 I do PLEASE post a link or something

Titanium Backup will do it, but you need the Pro version. ROM Toolbox will also do it.

i have pro, and no it doesnt. its supposed to but it still has the option to update whenever i go into the play store.
you can detach it from the market but it doesnt actually do anything
when you download an app, make sure you do not click the automatic download, and it shouldn't automatically update. IT will ask if you want to, but not do it automatically.
you can also on your phone, slide screen to the "all" page, and right column there is a circle with a dash through (the universal "NO" sign). Click on that and it will remove it from your download history. This may help as well.
:cyclops:
Rom toolbox will also let you break links. I have used it to break apps from Amazon to use after I deleted their app. Maybe that app will work. Never tried it to not update an app.

just to clarify, its not setup to automatically download. in the list or available updates, when you select "update all", this is where the problem is. i want to get it out of that list so i can just use that button. rom toolbox requires pro to break market links and i dont want to buy it just for that.
goldsmitht- what is that second thing you mentioned? ive never seen something like that

He is talking about the "remove from my apps" option on the play store, when your viewing your installed apps you can swipe the screen from right to left and you will see all the apps associated with your Google account. There is a little circle with a dash through it like goldsmitht mentioned, you can touch the circle and remove apps from your Google account. But it won't allow you to do it if the app is installed so you would have to save the apk then uninstall the app, remove it from your account from the play store like goldsmitht mentioned, then side load the apk and you will have the app installed and it won't show up in the play store.

Make sure "unknown sources" is checked in settings>security before installing the apk.

Detaching apps from Market

As with some of you, I do not like the 7.x version of Google Maps. So, I am using a 6.x version of Maps. Using Titanium Backup, I "detached" the Maps app from Market, so when I do a bulk or auto update, the Maps app is not updated. About 1-2 days after I detach Maps from market, using Titanium Backup, I notice that the Maps app shows up again in Market and shows needing to be updated. This has happened several times in the past few weeks.
Not sure what or if I am doing anything wrong.
How can I permanently detach an app from showing up in Market?
What could be causing the app to show up in Market after being detached using Titanium Backup?

I've been experiencing the same thing with the most recent titanium and play store - apps will detach for a day or two but they will still have updates in the "my apps" section.
Interestingly enough, when I get notifications for updates it doesn't mention the detached apps. Haven't figured out a fix yet...

Why not just turn off notifications and auto-updating in the Play Store, rather than trying to detach all your apps? I haven't quite found a time when detaching from the store is a benefit, other than if you share apps with people.

I never auto update for example, for a while I didn't want to update Google Wallet because you had to change your build.prop back and you could screw it up if you had it working. I like getting notified when updates are available for all my other apps, and just hitting "update all" in the Play Store when I have some time to let it update. Unfortunately, since I couldn't detach Wallet, it would always try to update with the rest of my apps whenever I hit "update all". Detaching it from the market would be perfect in this situation
