[Q] Help with ROM - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

Guys, wondering if someone could help me. Have a new HTC One XL (Telstra edition).
I have unlocked using HTC dev and have TWRP installed.
I did a complete wipe, loaded the UNOFFICIAL CyanogenMod 10.1 for HTC One XL (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2064621) via TWRP, flashed the boot image.
Now, the system is booting up, but the screen isn't registering (i.e. any touch of the pad doesn't yeild any result). The power button works, the sound buttons work, but no touch. I know the touchscreen isn't the issue, because it is fine when using TWRP. Any suggestions?

You have to run a sense jb rom now if you have the new firmware and hboot

Cheers mate, I will do that then.
Darn though, I'm annoyed because I had the old firmware originally and updated it prior to unlocking I prefer the stock Android experience.

Sorry that's what happens when you OTA. in time the problem will be solved but for now you can load venom it's really solid

Why are you so sure of that? Because more people will be affected, and therefore devs will be more motivated to solve this issue?
Other than that, I don't see how the AT&T OTA will help in any way. But maybe I'm missing the point here.

I know its too late for you. But for the benefit of others, I've said time and time again: If you are rooted/BL unlocked or want to be, don't take any OTAs. Period. Its really that simple.

[Q] Bricked HOX after flashing JellyBean.

Hi, I'm new to this forum, and unfortunately after a week of having my HOX, and it broke, after unlock and try many roms without any I liked, I found a call icecold jellybean in this forum, and after installation my phone is not on again, nothing, no HBOOT, no charge, no LED lights, nothing, totally dead, I'm pretty sure that it is junk, I'll have to buy a new one, but if anyone knows any solution hear suggestions, I am of Costa Rica, so the warranty does not work here HTC ... These are classic symptoms of flashing a ROM for the International One X on the One XL. When you do that, you overwrite part of the boot partition for the phone so it cannot boot up.
This is potentially fixable if you have access to Linux computer and know what you're doing.
I have CWM, although in this particular installation I suggested installing via teamviewer will say yes, and restart the recovery, install normal success, and to give restart did not turn over, my phone is an HTC one X from at&t , my CID is 111111, reading forums I saw it was the supercid and accepted any rom ..
if I have a computer with linux, I can fix it?
... HTC One X and xl are completely different devices. It's like flashing a Vivid rom on your XL.
To be honest I have many roms on my computer, I download that the link the AOKP jellybean, the download forum HOX at&t rogers telstar, then it is assumed if I should serve, but not if it was by mistake upload another roms that I have saved, I have several of the international HOX because I thought I worked, but then I found out that no, then do not know what could have happened

no chance in hell that the aokp meant for the ONE XL hard bricked you no chance ... and your running CWM should be running teamwins recovery
So how I can fix it?
Yeaaa bro if your phone would even turn on you MAY have a chance. But if there is nothing what so ever except your reflection, then yea you've rendered it useless

Caution: I have not done this myself and do not vouch for it. But here's the explanation I've seen before:
beaups said:
when the device is bricked (qhusb mode), after pushing and holding power for ~10 seconds - in linux shortly thereafter all of the partitions will enumerate and expose themselves to linux for about 5 seconds (you'll see sdX1, sdX3, sdX8, about 30 partitions alltogether). During that quick 5 seconds you can DD whatever you feel like back to those partitions.
.
This is how I've recovered bricks. Corrupt hboot --> Brick device. DD back correct hboot while in this mode --> unbricked

You mentioned "icecoldjelly" in the first post. That's a ROM for the international version. If you flashed that at any point, that's your problem.

Needing the external and ear piece speaker to be louder

I have a HTC One X Evita, had it a few weeks, had service 1 week, started with the base 1.85 (4.0.3) rom. I put the ViperXL 3.0.0 on it and now have the ElementalXL kernel on it.
That is the sum of the phone but the problem I have having is the volume for in calls and the external speaker is really really low, I have to be in a quite room just to make sure I hear the other person.
* I have manually installed (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1711843) since it was meant for ICS
* I have tried (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1771622) v21 actually, didn't change a thing
* and one other I can't remember now. all where strikeouts
What are my options for boosting the sound volume in Sense based JB roms?
I am struggling here as this is the only thing rom with this phone but it's a big one.
I have done some reading and it seems this problem may be related to the 1.85 update which as far as the original ATT rom, that is what I was on. I am not on the ViperXL though, but I wonder if I went back (unrooted) and did the OTA 2.2 ATT update if that would fix this problem.
Do you think that is worth it?
Sounds like a bad idea, is it worth going from hboot 1.09 to 1.14 on a slim chance it makes the volume louder? It's up to you but it sounds like a bad option if you ask me.

yeah, all the roms out there make is sound like hboot 1.14 is bad but this volume thing is killing me, makes the phone crippled and I can't seem to fix it.

If you want to try the 2.20 firmware, just flash the stock unrooted version in the Development forum.

There are stock rooted versions of most every firmware version, including 1.73, in the Development subforum, if you want to try an older firmware.
I don't think going back stock and/or messing with OTA is going to do anything that just flashing a different ROM will not. Does more harm than good.

Thank you, this is a used phone from craigslist so your guess is as good as mine but the few calls I made on it before rooting and installing a custom rom, I still had the low volume.
Just seems weird as I have seem so many mods and such to increase the volume but haven't got one to work yet.
I just recovered to a backup a few days back before I tried a whole bunch of stuff so I can start from essentially scratch again in case of piling try onto try hindered any attempts.
You should run a ruu to get rid of all the crap that's on the phone.

You can try this: http://androidaudiohacks.com/?page_id=16
I haven't used it on the One X, but used it on my old phone (Desire Z) and the volume boost was significant (although not huge). Although I'm not sure how well Volume+ works on JB. My guess is also that the mods you tried, did not work due to the fact they were intended for ICS.
Or you can try to flash a AOSP ROM with DSP Manager, which works similarly to Volume +.

I agree, I don't see any benefit of running the RUU versus doing a full wipe (factory reset, wipe Dalvik, wipe cache) and installing a new ROM). And much more of a pain to relock, RUU, unlock, re-install TWRP, etc.

OP, you are good to flash any ROM you want FROM THIS FORUM ONLY. Granted you have custom recovery. Hboot 1.09 will allow you to flash anything with no restrictions. It's not that my information that was useless. It was that the OP's Info was useless. He did not give me any information about his previous searches or attempts to find a sense rom for his phone. So I provided him with clearly obvious information to his question with the limited knowledge I know about this thread, assuming that there were no sense rom but not bothering to look yet again assuming that the OP had already looked and had no success. Now, if you're going to troll and carry on and not politely excuse me for being mistaken then you can leave this thread. Good day.

Yep. Hboot 1.14 and higher need fastboot or s-off to flash any image files. (Splash screens, kernels, recovery imgs)
So you having hboot 1.09 are home free. Find a ROM you're interested in, download onto phone. Wipe everything in twrp and flash the zip file and gapps in need be. Profit bro

If you don't know the device, you shouldn't be giving advice for it, leave it to the guys who know what they're talking about for this device.
By the way, the OP's information wasn't useless. He correctly identified his device, he gave his hboot version, and simply asked where to find ROMs for it.

Not sure why anyone is suprised. Those of us with the M7 knew this month's ago. For the first day after the M7 was released you could use HTC DEV unlock then VZ made HTC lock that down for the M7.
I too hoped maybe VZ had not gotten to HTC yet for the M8 so I tried but no luck. Will need to wait for rumrunner or firewater to be updated to support the M8. It may take a while....

I'm coming from a Note 3 so I'm not familiar with the M7, did rumrunner or Firewater allow for running custom asop roms?

Yes sir. Rumrunner gave you S-Off which is "Signature Off". Once that is set, you can flash custom recoveries and then custom rom's. It took months for the team to get this working and I know it did not work on 4.4.2. I think we are in for a long wait. If you bought this hoping you could get custom rom's you might want to reconsdier. If you like the phone and can live with it stock for a few months, it's a great device.
The M7 was the best phone I ever had and I swap phones a lot.

The stock One with 4.4.2 has not been able to achieve S-Off without a Java card. At lest not last time I looked.

oh boy not good LOL
This phone has an sd slot. The earlier one didn't. Easier to hack from what I remember
Well what about root? With xposed, root alone can provide a lot of nice added functionality before the bootloader is figured out
Just picked up the M8. Tried HTC Dev and failed

Couldn't agree more. I'm fine if we get custom recovery at some point but I'd really love to get titanium on and remove some of this Verizon crap... I mean stuff....

Connect your phone to your PC and run the RUU program in Windows. Make sure no other programs are running. Make sure screen saver is turned off. I'm feeling generous and have given you exact file, next time please search before posting.

There are plenty of stable ROMs, you probably just don't have your phone set up correctly. Research is key.
The link is for our phone, why would I give you a link for a different phone?

The solution to this has been discussed here dozens (maybe even hundreds) of times.
The problem is not the custom ROMs, its your lack of research and understanding.
got the same problem

Yeah well, i've been resarching a lot! and i haven't found any good stable rom for HTC one x PLUS from AT&T...
all i find is for HTC one X and HTC one XL, but not for the HTC one X+...
even though I consider myself to know not so a lot about computers and software, android ROMs are one of those things i know nothing about, so I have tried some roms and i haven't found one to work well on my phone, so i know it may be bothersome, but we need information on how to setup and how to do things and not brake the phone...

It's not the same problem, since it's not the same phone, or even the right device forum section.
I wasn't all that familiar with the X+, and for that matter I don't even remember all that much about the phone I actually owned (One X) since it's been 3+ years since I even powered it on. But I do recall the X+ was kind of an oddball "between flagships" device and not much of a community not development. So your ROM choices, and other resources are limited.
hi . i need this rom : HTC_One_X_RUU_5.18.502.1.exe please help me. tnx
