[Q] Touch Screen.... - Optimus One, P500, V Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey,XDA Developers...
I bought about month ago new LG P500 Optimus One. In it was gingerbread 2.3 - so today... Was going in beth room - Phone was with me. There was hot... Ok after I was going to check time... Wanted to unlock Phone but I see that it's not moving! So I understood that my Touch Screen is broken maybe or what... But keys are working like - power, back, home, search etc.
I tried to take out battery and put it again but it doesn't worked.
After I flashed my phone with KDZ to 2.2 <> Didn't worked.
Flashed back to 2.3 <> Still didn't work!
Now I will try to take out battery for some hours and then try again!
Help me guys... I'm worried about my phone...
Thanks.

Just brought a month ago? I am sure it is still under warranty. Ask LG service centre fix for you then. Trying to flash the KDZ yourself will void the warranty.

Actually happen to me before. But i factory reset my phone and poof the touchscreen worked again.

Hello, I do not know how to help you .. My LG phone is at the center-service .. from about 10 days.
umm.. I had a similar problem. My phone was rooted and I had tried ROM Manager & clockwork mod. After running RM, the phone restarted and after the LG screen, a black screen comes up with two code lines and then nothing happens. Man, that was an *oh sh*t* moment for me! Sat in front of this site for about 10 hours, no help! Finally, went to the LG Service Center today. They promised me a new phone within a week so I'm happy!
Basically, I advice you to go to the service center.
Good luck!
Man, this happened exactly to me.

Hi .. all under warranty?
But I have been more unlucky than you .. because I brought the phone to the service-center for about 10 days .. but the service center re-opens after the Epiphany (January 6, 2011) ..
and I'm not sure if I have adjusted, or not ...
Happy New Year to all

Hey.. Happy New Year to you too!
By the way, I'll be getting a new phone on the 6th of January only, at least I am hoping to get it by then. They said it would take about a week. Fingers Crossed! Take your phone to the service center as soon as it re-opens and just don't let them know that it was rooted. If they ask what happened then just say that you tried to upgrade to a newer firmware or something like that. And also, keep all the accessories (box and other stuff) ready with you!
I think I'll be doing the same too if I cant get it fixed by Monday. This sucks btw.
i had the same problem at start
yo phone is bricked!!
##solution
remove the battery
put it back
boot in emergency mode, i guess [(back or home)+(volume up)+(power)] hold all 3 buttons for some time bout 5-10 secs
connect yo data cable
open LG software updater[KDZ] -> used to update phones firmware
then select the kdz update file ->eg. v10b_00
thats it!!
didnt workout for me...it says phone not found

A response about the update from SmartPhoneGeek @LG Forum

Finally got a response from LG mod SmartPhoneGeek at the LG Forum...such as it is.
One of the questions I asked.......How about a log of fixes? A statement of some sort?
"The upgrade will deliver Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and is expected to provide some performance enhancements, addressing:
•Unexpected restarting
•Battery life
•Front-facing camera operation with Qik Record and Share
•Responsiveness of Car Home"
wifi is still not fixed.
You might have an issue with your phone. My Wi-Fi has never been broke.
Still getting the reboots and SOD- but I didnt do a clean install. I just updated.
This hasn't cured the phone getting hot while charging. It's burning up right now..

Way too easy!!
After reading *literally* every post about this update since I saw the announcement on TMONEWS I was expecting the worst..
The joke was on me!
The download, and install took all of 15 minutes and I didn't have a single adrenaline moment. My phone rebooted, it took a few minutes to get past the G2X screen and BANG! there it was! All my data, all my apps, I haven't finished playing yet but I can say, honestly, this was WAY TOO EASY..
Exact same for me!
One of the rare moments I wish I was unrooted. Not because I want stock or anything, just envious of the joy everyone is feeling who gets to update from stock.

Really?... I just said I don't want stock. My custom GB ROM is better than anything LG will put out. I was saying I'm envious of the joy the stock folks are feeling at being able to upgrade their stock build. Not what they are actually accomplishing, just the happiness they are feeling.

Considering this update is not meant for consumer consumption really, I'm sure they know it's a pos.
I was reading TMO news 15 minutes before this was dropped, left work and got home, fell asleep and when I woke I just checked at random and sure enough, there it was. Gonna stick with Ultimate rom till someone makes a custom rom based off the new stuff, hopefully we can port the camera app over from 2.2 maybe?
Do a quick reboot or try to go to recovery by vol dwn and power...mine went and factory reset when I was gonna flash back. No root no nandroid no nothing. Guess I'm gonna wait for a rooting method now. Cause this sucks. Would rather not have updated at all.

[Urgent Help] Installed Custom ROM for LG Optimus 2X by accident

Hi everyone!
I just got my WIND P999 (same as G2X)
rooted the phone successfully, did a backup for my apps, installed custom ROM and accidentally put the clockwork thing for LG Optimus 2X which is the P990 instead of the T-Mobile G2X P999.
My phone was rebooting repeatedly to no avail so I tried taking the battery out and it got it started rebooting again to no avail.
Now it does not reboot or do anything anymore, with a full battery or without a battery at all.
I am really worried that I killed the phone, I hope I will be able to somehow recover it.
Thanks so much for the help guys!
This should help.

Took the battery out once more, restarted the restarting process holding down volume - and power and it reset everything, I was still rooted, flashed to weapon g2x, and can now pretend to be a l33t hax0r like you guys that actually know what you're doing XD
Lucky bastard eh?
that being said my network 3g settings are different and it actually drops occasionally, didn't do that before, maybe it isnt connected to me though.
Please mark this thread as resolved might comfort some more WIND users.

Your lucky you did not use Smartflash and screw up your baseband. That is very difficult to fix, if it can be fixed at all.

[Q] Touchscreen issue & need help asap

So I recently purchased the NS. I have one problem though: the very right side of the screen (0.5 cm from the end of the screen) the touchscreen is very unresponsive. Sometimes it responds sometimes it doesn't. On my previous phone (LG Optimus 2x) when running CM7 there was the same glitch. The very left side on my NS it's very responsive. I'm running stock 2.3.6 . What is my problem?
Thanks
U just got the phone and having all Stock with that issue, if I was u, I would use the warranty to solve that imediatly (or u can try to upgrade to newer ROM to see if that's a software prob.)
cheers
wipe the screen down with some alcohol to be sure

Don't do this, you'll risk prematurely eating your oleophobic coat. I'd find some touchscreen testing app first, and if the problem persists go to samsung.
Ok, I updated to 2.3.6 and the touchscreen is a bit better. Maybe that's just my impression. Are you sure none of you have this problem? hmm. So should I send it to Samsung for repair?
I haven't had this problem at all, my phones touchscreen is flawless everywhere. I would first talk to samsung and hope you don't get someone incompetent, then send it in if need be.

OH man. I don't want to be phoneless for a month though However I do have a year warranty and I only purchased the phone 3 days ago so I can wait and see if it get's worse before returning it for repair. It really doesn't bother me for now since I never touch the last 3 mm of the screen anyways.

ROM Restore -> BRICKED :'(

Recently have been using the CM10 Jellybean ROM until the ROM manager update ruined my music and galleries. In any case I found it a a little laggy and buggy for the time being. I decided to restore from CMW back to my previous rascream and after reboot, got the Google screen bootloop. I had the battery pull to stop it but after one battery pull, the Nexus S no longer turns on. Plugging into the charger, nothing shows up. I have tried to pull battery again and enter recovery mode but nothing's happening.
Have I properly borked it?
- battery was fully charged at the time
- using clockwordmod 5.0.1.4 (old)
- i9023
Can you still boot into fastboot? You should still be okay if you can at least get there.
These phones are very hard to brick. I'd there any lights at all?

thanks for the replies.
I can't get into anything on the phone. Pressing any combination of buttons doesn't light soft keys nor screen up. Also charging the phone for periods doesn't heat up the battery like some others have had.
I've put linux onto one of my old computer and tried the software AdamOutler mod to no avail. Both the Mode detector and Unbrickresurrector don't recognise my phone....
If you have the Problem with the gallery, you simply have to clear the Cache and Dalvik cache.....
=> Next time ? ,-)
No response at all.....I believe your last chance is JTAG.
hmmmm....... my last resort was to take it to a repairer and see what they think. Hopefully they can get it to power on and then I can sort out the rest.

Just an update on this. I returned my phone to warranty to be fixed. According to the repair notes, there seemed to be a problem with the board (not software related) thus was replaced. It also says in the warranty notes that the i9023 has quite a few of these board related problems.
Anyway, got Jellybean running OTA from Vodafone and it's working fine.
