Note: you are in the wrong section to be posting questions. Please read the forum rules and create a relavat thread accordingly. You can send a message to one of the modulators to inquire that this thread be placed in the right section.
Now to answer your question:
To be honest, I have really lost track on what is "the best" for the HTC Desire Hd/Inspire 4G.
Sabsa prime - great and madly fast but you loose some features for the moment homescreen is fixed to a specfic amount for the moment
Viper-full sense 4 rom with many ridiculous customization features and I really love it. However, because its a full sense 4 it responses slow at times which is a real bummer for me
Muwii(whatever it is called)- tried ot for a few mins but I cant say much on it because I missed my sense
Jellytime-I love it allot also, and it is quite fast. But like before I was missing a few features from sense that I like such as the sense 4 keyboard, better homescreen launcher(not too digging the default so much)
Sabsa Bliss- great like other sense 3.6 roms and it should have reduced battery drain. However, if you are a fan of the sliding homescreen wallpaper, htc one x camera(taking vids and a photo at the same time),or just the look and fell of a sense rom it might not be for you
As well we got gingerbread roms which has a ton of mods as well as other roms that I have not tested
What I am saying is its not really up to us to say "get sabsa, viper etc" but it all comes down to you
Sent from my HTC Inspire 4G using xda app-developers app

Core droid sense 2.6 is a great Rom but no longer on xda so do a google search extremely fast rom
Black out another great sense 3.5 ics Rom very fast Rom
Sabsa prime ver 12 very good ics rom 4.1 sense it's a little buggy but very nice looking and very smooth

The Moderating team is not really a fan of best rom threads because what may be a great rom for one person may not be the same for others. They're to many variables to say one rom is hands down the BEST rom. Last a lot of times these threads turn into flame wars between fan boys of different devs.
So I'm going to close this

ROM wishlist

the Mytouch 4g development crew is growing at a huge rate, and while I'm obviously happy about that, I've found that all of the new ones create ROMS based off of Cyanogenmod or AOSP ROMS. That's great! It's a wonderful starting point, but we have now gathered an extent of probably more than 5-6 AOSP ROMS that are mostly identical. So I made this thread so people can list the things they want in ROMs so developers can look at this and see what people want and will use. I'll make a list that is divided in to sections such as add-ons, ports, and anything else you'd like for me to add.
In addition, I will add links to all items on the list that are released.
Suggestions:
Device Ports:
- Droid Charge
- Dell Streak
- Sony Ericsson Device
System Ports:
- WORKING Motoblur
- Touchwiz
Add-ons:
-Easily implemented CRT screen-off animation for any ROM
-Sense items (Like contacts, dialer, and camera) working in AOSP ROMS like CM7
Developers! Here's your chance to make something unique that people want! We're counting on you!
Reserved in case this thread is actually successful.
A Motoblur Port is out already, but half of its ass is missing... TouchWiz, in your dreams maybe... Droid Charge Port would be nice. How about a Dell Streak port?
Also a Sony xperia port would be nice
I've also been looking for a fast stock aosp themed froyo Rom....haven't been successful so far ....

A mysence rom with a themed black clock that actually flips would be hard!

Alright, I've added some of the more supported ideas. I don't think I'll add them to the OP unless more than one person wants it. But once again, does anyone know of a way to have a poll in the OP?
Dell streak FTW!
I would like to see a Honeycomb themed sense 3.0/2.1 hybrid rom.....and working yahoo video..
Speaking of ROMS....if I understand AOSP correctly it is supposed to be 100% stock Android so how is there so many copies?...seems to me there should just be themes not ROM after ROM?
I would love to see Devs complete a ROM (finish all the bugs before moving on....reminds me a lot of Samsung...they spit out phones so fast they suck at support or updating)...no offense to all the work here but there is how many ROMS that are "oh so close" left for dead out there...
The liquid ROM looks pretty hot too....

Hint: honeysense... HoneySense One is already out but if you're eager, flash it. Otherwise, wait for HoneySense Two.
I'd like to see...................................this be moved to the General forum
Why is that? It does specifically deal with development. This thread could be helpful to developers in deciding what type of Rom to make.

Aye Gingersense rom stripped of sense....Just dialer, contacts and camera...or CM7 with htc camera, its been done before(Enomther) if one would please

ROM Manager premium - any difference from free?

Hey guys,
First time poster, great site btw ;-)
Just upgraded ROM manager to premium after my first couple of times flashing ROM's has pretty much got me hooked now.
Strange thing is there are no premium ROM's. Is this norm for Desire S?
Sent from my HTC Desire S using XDA App
Unlike many other phones which have hundreds (nay on thousands) of ROMs (some good, most not so good), the Desire S community seems to adopt the "I'd rather have a choice of about a dozen properly refined ROMs, some with Sense, some without" philosophy!
The crux is that we end up with a nice small selection of really well-built ROMs (compared to most other phones)... elliminating the hell of constantly tripping up on bugs found in many other ROMs.
Thanks for the speedy reply.
That makes sense in away, thanks for clearing it up some. More might make there way on it as time goes by.
I want to try out the cyan 7.1 but looks like ill have to try another way ;-)
Sent from my HTC Desire S using XDA App
IN which case you find this [INDEX][12 SEP 11] ROMS/RECOVERY/ROOT/HBOOT/RADIOS/etc of use.
Only LBC , Virtuous Unity and MIUI ROMS are in ROM manager.

Miui vs Sense 3.0/3.5

Go! Personally I am using Miui right now. I started on VU and then gave Miui a try. It feels a but quicker on Miui and their seems to be a lot more customization
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
Oh boy. I see this going south. I LOVE miui because it has sms popups, themes galore, a nice dialer, and awesome support.
Sense is beautiful, has many variations, the system apps and widgets go on forever, and it really shows off what android is capable of visually. That said, it seems to take a tremendous amount of work by devs to make sense ROMs easy on the ol' battery. That, from my point of view makes them bloated. But, they can be made into fantastic daily drivers as has been shown repeatedly.
Lately I've used MIUI.

You probably think that TJ is being harsh and ruining a fun thing. But you have to take into account that redundant threads like this pollutes the site and when a noob tries to do the right thing and search for a thread he/she needs it'll be harder to find. And all he/she will do is ask the question in a thread that's been answered many times. Thus, it all just creates the circle of problems.
Powered by a G2x
I ran both.
MIUI on Nexus One, which is incapable of properly running even Sense 2.1, having no devs to completely solve everything (trackball wake) and no graphical power to move it smoothly.
Sense 3.0 on MT4G, which is capable of running it fast and smooth.
Personally, I prefer Sense - it is visually and functionally better. While MIUI fixes a lot of things that stock Android did wrong (T9 dialer, notification bar toggles, launcher - in the aspect of adding widgets, smoothness and effects), it still falls short when it comes to Email, text selection (standard Android has selection position bugs and isn't nearly as comfortable as Sense), and just overall visual experience. But MIUI is small and fast, and on older phones it counts - and it supports A LOT of phones that have no better options. So, for me, if the phone can't run Sense or TouchWiz properly - MIUI would be the next best thing to choose.
I go to miui once in a while but find myself coming back to sense 3.0/3.5 only because its just so awesome... Sense is hands down the best thing that happened to android it adds so much to android... Basic stuff like browser ,mail, contacts integration made perfect.... Sense makes android beautiful with brains but miui on the other side is definitely for lower power phones like say moto defy or something like that... Btw love both of them

Guy this question has been asked a thousand times with a thousand different answers. There is no top or stable ROM, they are ALL GREAT. Only what you feel best using and your needs of it. Try a few on for size and see what works for you and feels best for you. Coredroid for a stock look or absolution 3.7 for a no sense. But then these are my favorites but watch how many more responses you get till you get closed.

Look, I use my phone as a work phone (so I need an amount of stability), and I find aospx AR28 stable enough for a daily (that said, AR26 saw fewer freezes and reboots, food for though).
However, if you need camcorder, aospx (any ICS?) isn't for you.

Well lets start with congrats man on getting an Inspire. The Inspire community is awesome and there is a constant flow of great work being done by the amazing devs here. First, please search. I don't mean to come off as a jerk but it is part of the rules you agreed to when you signed up and literally if you searched "best rom" or "stable rom" you would most likely see what we have all been telling you and that is: There is no best stable ROM. Every ROM has its issues. What one person swears by another person won't. Only you know what you're willing to live with and live without. Try some ROMs out and see what works best. Here are my recommendations but they are by no means an all inclusive list of "best ROMs", just my personal preference.
Sense 3.5 = Bindroid
Basically stock = Cleardroid
AOSP/CM = Absolution
ICS = Redemption or Melchizedek
if i could stay on one rom long enough to find out if it's stable or not would be a great thing. stupid ROM A.D.D.

Don't forget cyanogen7.2 (newest release) for a wide variaty of customization.
Like others said before there are tons of roms in the developer section of the xda/inspire4g.
Welcome to the freedom of android. The best thing about rooting is the personalization. You can find just about any theme, os, app, or widget you can imagine.
Start with the ace hack kit, read the effin manual (that's what its called) do some reading on the available roms, download from the site or open up rom manager (if available) flash from rom manager.
Which ever rom you choose remember read the first post on the dev thread back and forth up and down. Once you do that...... read it again. All the important info you need for that rom is in the first post.
If you have questions on terms or what something is. Just Google said something followed by xda htc inspire 4g and you should find exactly what your looking for.
Good luck and welcome to the forum.

Sorry guys been under the weather for a few days. Still trying to kick it.
As stated none can tell you what rom will work best or be the most stable on your device and your set up. Even stock roms have bugs. It is just something you live with or dig in and try to fix when you own a smart phone.
Just pay attention to the OP of each thread and so the proper research and you will be fine.

That is a close one, love the smoothness of Elegancia however i feel the same bout Viper and the full make it your own concept. Very close.
I would say Viper is better. it has lots of tweaks and is much smoother than elegencia. Also, Viper have regular updates which is something i like
But for some reason I found elegencia much faster than Viper.
I was originally using Viper but had battery problems with it so had to switch to elegencia.
elegencia all the way. Fast and smooth anf just feel good plus I hear that viper devs dont share all of their stuff with other devs but hat may or may not be true.
Hard. Those are my two favorite roms by far. Great developers. Viper is very innovative and tweakable. Elegancia has three great roms and probably the most friendly and helpful community
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using xda app-developers app
Both are great sense roms! But I've moved on to Bruce's CM10 JB.
Is there any reason you cannot test it for yourself?
It is the only way YOU will find out what suits YOU
^Nicked that off malybru because I cant be bothered typing my own response every time someone asks a "which ROM is better" question
I allready tested and pick elegancia but is better to hear opinion of more ppl.
Sent from my Sensation using xda premium
I actually get the ViperS rom 1.3.5, coming from ARHD 6.7.2, and i'm happy with it. Smooth, sense 4.1 works great, and no issues until now. The best thing you can do is prove it. Elegancia not yet proved so i can't make a dictum
Which ROM you use is always down to your personal opinion, nobody can tell you what you'll like better
