Root it with chinese program zhuodashi, You can find instructions from internet.
If interested in custom rom, You can dump it with romdump, get system.tar and do with it what You want, then convert system.tar to system.img and flash using RKandroid tool (to make tablet flash-mode, press and hold volume+ and connect to PC, then release volume button). You need Linux to convert tar to img, and don't unpack tar in windows because MS doesn't support ext3 FS, You loose important links inside archive.

Custom Rom for DGM T-1006
I realize this is a very old thread but I was wondering if any efforts were made to create a custom rom for this device

[Q] How do you tell the difference between TF101 types

So here I am wanting to break the installed version of ICS on my tablet... I followed the general guidelines on how to root and install the new OS (Revolution). I get myself to this point where I have the zip file on my MSD card and I go to the Power up and - volume to enter into the set up and I have 2 options, one is to boot from the current version I believe that it is a linux version) and the second is the ASUS Recovery image.
I think that I have the one that I can not be changed, is this true? Am I doing something wrong (should I have the TF101 attached by USB to the computer while I am doing this)? Is it possible to change the OS by expanding the zip file into the respective folders and attempt a reboot or will this process create a brick? I am interested in playing with the Ubuntu OS on my tablet too, just to get some experience, I am the computer guy in my area and I have a lot of people that I have talked into the TF101 since it came out and they have been asking if I can figure out this.
Thank you very much for any assistance.

You need to root and flash a custom recovery before you can flash a custom ROM
Once you have done that, you can then do what you just did, only this time you will enter a recovery capable of flashing custom ROMs, the stock ASUS Recovery can not
Use this to root and flash recovery - this can flash both SBK1 & 2 version of the TF101 so no need to worry about that
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1688012
Then follow the ROMs instructions to flash inside of recovery
Also look at the serial number of your TF101, Does it start with B60 or lower (sbkv1) or b70 or higher or a c? (Sbkv2).
Is it 3G? (NvFlash won't work Sbkv3/???)
Is it a slider? (Also won't work)
Afaik it's only those 3 variants for the TF101
You can also use my PERI tool for an easy recovery install, then place the Rom zipfile you want to install on the sdcard and use the new recovery to flash it.
Dl peri (Link in my signature) then run and plug in tablet, will install recovery, then place rom zip and flash in recovery... Easy peasy.
Okay, i already rooted my tablet so i am that far, I am going to create a custom recovery now (I didn't know that, so thank you). My tablet starts with b70 so it is one of those crossover ones. I am not famillar enough with Perl to be effective with it but if all else fails I will follow your instructions and thank you, too (if i need help with that can I PM you?
I had to work the past couple of days and i have off tomorrow so I will be attempting it Wednesday and I will keep you all posted.
Now any suggestions on which OS I should start with? I was thinking about Revolution, however I am a little partial to Ubuntu since I have it a my second OS on my laptop.
thanks again for your help, again.
Hey Everyone, it took a couple of days but I finally got it to work... I used the One-Touch program for windows and it was a piece of cake. I actually had it up and running a few weeks ago and I have been running Revolution. I need to back up this edition and I am going to try out Tubuntu next week just to get some experience with the different OS's.
thanks again for your help.

[Completed] Copying android image to multiple devices

Hi XDA Community!
I am looking for a solution to configure stock Android rom, customize it the way I want then create a package from it, something like Ghost Image for PC. Idea is that I can replicate exact copy of all my settings, customizations and installed apps to many devices.
Please direct me where I can start reading and what is the way?
Thanks
Hi,
You just need to root all your devices, flash a custom recovery and finally flash your own rom for all your tablets
I know it's a long and fastidious work for 100 tablets but I think that is the only way.
Good luck

Root is already done. I will work on CWM or other recovery. Do you have some tutorial on how to extrac image of current android with all configuration and apps into ROM, so I can flash it to other devices.
You can read and use these guides:
XDA University: Porting ClockworkMod Recovery to New Devices
Android Development and Hacking > Android Software Development > [GUIDE] Compile CWM Recovery

[Completed] Compile rom from non-rooted device that has access to root filesystem

So, I have an RCA RCT6773W22 7" tablet that, due to a repair center mix-up, is running a newer rom meant for the RCT6773W22B. Weird right? My friend has an RCT6773W22 like me, but with the correct rom. It is stuck at the boot logo. He has tried all recovery options. My question is, can I compile an update.zip for my friend from preexisting files in my devices root? Due to a rare rom setup on RCA firmware, I can copy any system file out of my tablet's root via ES File Manager. Is it possible to get a rom this way? I really want to help him, and I wouldn't mind having a rom on hand myself.

If you can make a partition dump then you certainly can make a flashable rom out of it. There's no dedicated forum for your device here in XDA but try asking in General discussion Questions and Answers Experts there may be able to help you.
Good luck
Thanks! It's good to know that it's possible.

Need help rooting Sky Devices Elite Octa 5.5 (MT6753)

So I got this cheap cell phone on Ebay for $50 (Sky Devices Elite Octa 5.5 with MT6753). It has great specs for that price. However, I'm now paying for it as I can't root the device.
I've tried one click tools but none of them worked. So now I'm asking the XDA community hoping that I can get some pointers.
I've found various tutorials online but they've all come to a dead end. If you find one that you think I should try, please let me know and I'll check it out.
I tried contacting the OEM but they were d-bags and refused to provide stock ROM or scatter file. Which makes me want to root it even more!
The furthest I got was I can dump about 2 GB from the device's memory to a raw file on my PC using SPF (Smart Phone Flash) Tool. One of the tutorials I found is here:
https://cmflare4guides.wordpress.com/2016/08/25/how-to-create-spft-rom-dump/
The Instructions section works but the Continuation section does not. In MTK Droid Root, the button "To process file ROM_ from FlashTool" is disabled and I can't click it.
Any ideas?
I can unlock the boot loader.
I think what I need to do is:
- "extract" the ROM that I downloaded via SPF Tools into various partitions (no idea how though)
- mount the partitions as a loop back device in Linux
- modify some file that will disable permissions on the device (allowing me to install SuperSU)
- "package" the modifications back to some ROM image
- upload the image to the device
However, I currently can't figure out what to do with the ROM_FULL that I downloaded from the device using SPF Tools.

If u still have that Sky Elite 5.5 Octa thing.. or the ROM,please do help a brother man, I am so in need of it...

N8010 upgrade help

Hi guys, I've never done anything like this but my dad uses a galaxy tab n8010 which needs updating, ive seen there's ways to get it onto android 6/7 but none of the guides explain it from the start. Im using a MacBook if that helps but would rather just do it all from the device. Can anyone please help me?!
No update for N8010 since 4.4.2 .
Some custom roms in Development section have Android 6 etc .
All information already posted .
Cannot flash custom rom direct from device .
Flash TWRP custom recovery through Odin and PC ,
Install custom rom on external sd card boot to TWRP recovery and install .
