so ive been looking at mainly three phones
the samsung wave, samsung galaxy s, or the htc desire
ive lost intrest in winmo because of the lack of apps for the phone and the lack of customisable ui.
which of these phones would you recomend + any other good phones out there?

No Question asked I would most certainly go with the htc desire, good luck....
The question is simple, I have a broken HD2 with Typhoon CM7 and would like the same ROM setup on another phone. So which of these phone's has the best customisation possibility's?
- HTC Desire
- HTC Desire Z
- HTC Desire HD
- HTC Desire S
- HTC Incredible S
- Google Nexus S
- LG Optimus 2x
- Samsung Galaxy S
Don't care much about the screen size, just want the best setup(bugless, stable, smooth, 720p/1080p camera ect).
Go with the Nexus
Yeah. The whole point of a "Nexus" phone is that you can do whatever you want with it. Period.
I'm very happy with my Galaxy S, LOTS of custom roms and kernels available, and the specs are very comparable to the Nexus S (only where I live the Galaxy S is now considerably cheaper).
Cheers.
+1 Google Nexus S
Galaxy spica. Cheap and fun.
Sent from my GT-i9100 with MIUI 1.7.8 - xda premium app
Another +1 for the Nexus. For the thread of the title, it's default really.
Galaxy S as for me
The Nexus should be one of the easiest to root.
I think the nexus would be easier since it is designed for that but i have the desire z and found it easy to root
Galaxy S is the best for customization. Easy to do everything and best phone as well
I'll go with the nexus. I'm waiting for the next nexus.
I would go with the Nexus.
Hey guys!
I now this question isnt about the NS, but sence you guys apparently have the same taste in phones as me, I found it best to ask for you guys opinion.
I'm looking for a new phone, and was ofcourse concidering the Galaxy Nexus. But then the HTC One X was announced. The thing is that the Galaxy Nexus is still more expensive than the HTC One X here in Norway, and I do belive that the HTC One X packs more "horsepower" than the Galaxy Nexus anyway.
I was also thinking bout the Samsung Galaxy III, but sence Samsung support on updates are less than ****, i quickly discarded the idea.
Any thoughts ?
Cheers!
I would wait until you can walk into a store and play with both of them. Don't let the supposed faster updates of the Nexus line sway you. After about a year those promises are left empty anyway. There are multiple phones that will get ICS before the Nexus S does so thinking about Jelly Bean...you will just as likely get it on another manufacturers device before you will on the Galaxy Nexus.
The nice thing about an HTC phone is you will most likely have the option of running Sense ROMS or AOSP roms if there is enough development which there most likely will be now that bootloaders are easily unlocked. I had this choice when I had my Evo Shift and it was nice depending on my mood.
I am in the same boat between the Galaxy Nexus and the HTC One X. It really depends on Sprint's schedule for me at this point and whether they will carry the HTC One X.
Ive played around with the GN, as a friend of mine just bought it. Its a nice phone, with a much better build quality than the NS. Very fast and responsive, but nothing mindbogeling, when compared to the NS. I imagine that the HTC One X is a better phone i every aspect when it comes to specs, over the GN?
I think Verizon supports the HTC One Max, and also Galaxy Note series. Anything else? How about Galaxy Mega?
I think I want a Phablet, but I want to go bigger than the Note. I would like the HTC One Max, but I can't stand that it only has 2 buttons. Is there any other options out there for Verizon?
Thanks

Verizon has the note 2-3, i think the galaxy mega was for sprint/at&t and international only. the DROID ULTRA is pretty big... (5") the G2 and the Nokia Lumia Icon are Huge too!
Okay, so my story goes like this...
I had some android phones:
my first - HTC Desire Z
next one - HTC Evo 3D
and the next one - HTC Sensation
and finaly Sony Xperia Z
after that I my mind went sideways and I bought iPhone 5s, I said to my self - "How can I diss the iPhone if I had never realy used it (iPod touch does not count ^^)
So I tried it and actualy I dont like it, because there is no Android as dull as it sounds, but I just want to install new ROMS every damn week and tweek them and the apps that require root access just does magic to your phone, anyway the best Android I ever had was HTC Evo 3D, and no, not because of the 3D camera and 3D display, beacause, I liked the design, but battery life was crap, pardon my french. but I bought second battery and it was as little as matter of changing the battery in the middle of the day, other than that I loved the speed of Evo, the design, yes even thou it was plastic... so my question is what to buy next, I am going to sell my iPhone and buy an Android phone, but I have a problem with choosing the right one, beacause I literaly hate the on screen buttons that are on the newest Android phones, I hated them on my Xperia and I hate them now, and my only choice is Samsung Galaxy S5, I want the phone to be fast, modern and to support as much new Android versions as possible, but I dislike S5, I just dont like the design and all the cool over-priced features will go away as I like my Androids with stock experience like CyanogenMod or AKOP, so what should I do/buy?

there is already a thread for the next phone you want http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1620179 , also i recommend that you dont buy the Galaxy s5 unless your willing to deal with Samsung KNOX when you want to flash roms. if anything i would wait for the nexus 6 if we get one (nexus 5 is perfect if you want something now)

If we get one? I'm curious, is there speculation that there won't be a Nexus 6?
I love Nexus 5, the design, support from the xda devs for that phone, but it does not change that the nexus 5 has those on-screen buttons that I cant stand, and I believe Nexus 6 will have them too.
I really like the samsung galaxy tab 3 8.0 the battery is awsome. The one thing I haven't figured out is how to remove any traces of root (for warranty issues) does any one know how to remove any and all signs of a root so my warranty is not voided. That include any bootloader and flash counter. SM-310

You said it yourself. If you really hate onscreen buttons that much I don't see what other choice you have.
If you can get around that though I think the Z2 looks like the best phone out at the moment, or the new HTC One.

im Curious aswell, phones with big screens are great but, even with Samsung which decides it wants big screens on their phones, how big can we really go? the Galaxy s5 is supposed to have a 5.1" display and thats getting pretty close to 7" like the nexus 7.
I just got it and its 4.2.2 android jellybean
