Apps for what purpose? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

Now that I've got my phone configured to my preference it's time to start getting music and the like. What app do you use to download songs? I heard that Gtunes is suppose to perform well, but I would like to hear other options. Also, the idea of downloading songs individually sounds tedious. Does anyone here use pirate bay to download entire albums at a time and then place them on their phone that way? Also, how do you put movies on your phone? I would like to put TDKR I here if possible. How would I go about converting it? Handbrake? MP4 format?

As a warning talking about pirating music is not going to go over well here.

So... Is there a fix for the Youtube problem or not?

I love the fact that I have a smart phone to basically search anything that I dare to search.
One big thing I love to do is jam out to "Ride the lightning" by Metallica on YouTube, I like to keep my SD card on the slim side as with everything else
Why can I not keep YouTube closed (running in the background) and still have whatever was running/playing (play) ?
I don't like the mobile YouTube app it sucks
I have tried Opera Mini and Firefox (blows)
Need to see other options (other users such as your fine selves).
Any words?
could get a hold of the song somehow and put it on your phone as a mp3 and just play it in a music player.
Well... I like to keep it slim (hint) haha
I am not so limited either as far as " I can only have this many songs"
Currently I only possess a 2gB card
But the infuse has 16gb(well like 14.3) internal storage? Confused.

Not to mention you can put a 32gb sd card in on top of that. As for the youtube app not playing with the screen off... I'd imagine they figure not too many people are watching videos with the screen off. One song will not take up that much space.

I understand the point... I also hate when I search something to play on youtube and when I try to answer a text message or do anything I lose the streaming!...
I someone find a modified youtube app please share!

Use root explorer to delete files.
Use titanium backup to uninstall apps

I don't think he's asking how to actually delete them, I think he's asking if he downloads a movie can he delete the movie than install it again for free. Since most movies are a whole gb I can understand why people would want to. I believe to can, when you pay and download the movie you actually own that copy which tells me you can delete and install anytime you see fit.

That's exactly what I'm asking. There's a penny deal going on this week and I downloaded a Dave Chapelle episode for a penny, so I think I'll try to delete and redownload. It'd be no big deal if lost since it'll only be a penny to buy back. Thanks for the reply.
Glad to help. Just in case you didn't know or realize, all of your purchases are assigned to your media user name, so you can even install them on a different phone just as long as it has the samsumg media hub and you use your media user name.

Figured it out completely. If you delete an item it stills shows up in the My Media section as watchable but with a download symbol next to it. It stays in your library as simply a placeholder to tell that you own it. And if you want to reinstall you just click the DL button and it's back on your device. Thanks again man, your help was much appreciated.

Yes, try typing "PANDORA" into the Google Market/Play Store.
The app sucks. It really, really needs revamping with more options for customization. Don't get me wrong, it works and does what it's supposed to.
But I pay $35/year for it and wish it had more custom features like the Windows desktop app has.
I'm not talking about pandora, I said pandora download, it lets you skip all the song and no more ads and also LET'S YOU DOWNLOAD THE MUSIC FROM PANDORA
Oh, the thread title made it seem like you wanted to "download" the app known as "Pandora".
But, do you mean like cache the music, like Slacker does, or download all the tracks individually?

Do not have to have an account to download the apk. In small print at the bottom of the page there is a link to download for free.
Have to have a free Pandora account to use it after downloading.
Don't have to have a paid account.

You are welcome.
And the download thing Doesn't exist on android. But unlocked Pandora is still pretty cool to have as apposed to being limited to 6 skips per hour and all the nasty pop up ads.
If I hear a song on Pandora that I like, I switch to Gtunes and download it. Still pretty simple.

Can n7player from the Play Store read music from the phones internal memory?

Anyone? I want to know before I purchase it.
Sent from my ADR6300 using xda app-developers app
It does, I am trying the trial right now.
I suggest trying the free version first, because there are always better players on the market.
Someone over at Lifehacker suggested PowerAmp to have more features.
Anyways keep me up to date and try the free version.
Just did, pretty cool UI but my music on the phones internal memory doesn't show Anything you do to yours to make them show?
Sent from my ADR6300 using xda app-developers app
What phone do you have? My Nexus S only has Internal memory, no SD Card.
and it can detect my Tupac songs just fine. They're MP3 btw. Make sure you totally end the app task before you add new music for real detection.
Oh I also put my music in the Music folder hope that helps
Droid incredible. I'll try naming the folder music, the music I have have is just in a folder called "Tech N9ne" all my other music is on my SD. I have so many Tech albums that it will leave my card spaceless.
Sent from my ADR6300 using xda app-developers app
That might just be the issue, try doing that. The app should always detect the music regardless internal memory or SD card.
Cheers, and good luck
Seems to find it now, thanks!

If you play the XDA video playlist at youtube there's mention of an app or a tutorial here that let's you explore APK files. The video is between 1 and 50 on the playlist. Be careful though because the play order is corrupted and at around 48 or something it jumps and then starts jumping around randomly... weirdest thing. Anyway the info is there in the vids so I would also assume you could find the corresponding thread here by searching. Personally, I'd rather watch 50 of their youtube vids! Cool stuff! :cyclops:
It might have been Adam talking about something ADK related? Naw, just watch the first 50...
Okay thanks. Ill try it when im back at home. I was actually looking for a way to do it whitout using my computer. Any way. Thqnks

Oh, without using a computer... Hmmm... I think it's highly doubtful without writing something yourself. How are you at skewing android/linux code?
I guess I could be wrong tho - I'm pretty much a total n00b.

Haha. Im also not the really good doing android things myself. And i really dont know how to write a script or make an apk myself.
thanks anyway for the response.

Hmm, OK. That doesn't really seem to fit to me tho. I mean just mentioning... You're not the DIY type but you wanna get inside some APK files and poke around? See what I mean.
Anyway, maybe someone will come along and link you to the thread(s) here that show how such things can or can't be accomplished.
I think it's still computer based (haven't tried it) but there's this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1755243
I think that's the app mentioned in the videos I was talking about too BTW...
