Radio signal good in one ROM, bad in another - RAZR HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey!
So, I got a Jellybean 4.1.2 stock rom. I run Safestrap and installed Batakang 1.10 on slot 1. On the batakang ROM the signal bars are never full - sometimes I get 3, 4 bars. In the stock ROM I almost always get full signal. Why is that? Can I copy some files or something from the original ROM to the Batakang ROM to get it working better?

Hey, I think the sinal is OK. The bars just seem to have diferent metric
Enviado de meu DROID RAZR HD usando o Tapatalk 2

Exactly same thing here...
I guess that the signal is a little bit weaker than the stock ROM. But the speed of connection are practically the same.
But the bars really have different metric. You can compare the signal in configs menu.
Regards!

Hey steiger, where did you find the batakang 1.10 rom? I thought 1.00 was the most current build. I just installed it today specifically because I heard this rom had better 4G speeds than stock. No discernable difference noted at the moment.

Can't remember where I got the ROM now.. Google it. The 1.10 ROM Is made for the Attrix HD but is working perfectly on my Razr HD

Change dpi settings

Hello guys I'd like to introduce myself to this forum xD.. Been around xda since February I think..
Started in the world of android with a galaxy nexus and now own several other devices..
Well my question its simple.. (don't know about the complexity of the answer)
I need to change dpi settings by editing build.prop but I don't know if by doing this the tablet will boot loops or just the nav bar disappear hehehe.. I'm using this tab as my daily driver phone and I'd like to put ics in phone mode...
I have searched but could not find anything useful.. Thanks in advance
Enviado desde mi GT-P6200 usando Tapatalk 2
Well it depends on what ROM your running. If it's stock ICS then the answer is no, there seems to be some protection there against modifying the build.prop. There's no problem doing with on the stock HC or CM9.

Oh ic.. Seems like I can't find the official cm9 thread... Are we officially supported? I could not find anything on cyanogenmod wiki but p1 p1n p1l wich its the original tab not the plus.. That said would you be so kind on posting the official link in the case we are officially supported..
Other thing it's would it be okay flashing cm9 from cwm.zip (official or unofficial) since I own a galaxy note and doing this (because of the whipping process) the phone gets super bricked...
If so I guess I should flash an hc rooted rom and upgrade to cm9 from there? As we go back to gingerbread in Gnote to be able to wipe and flash any other rom
Thanks in advance

Personally I take the same precautions on my tab as the note, which is to say Odin flash back to gingerbread or in this case honeycomb then full wipe and finally flash cm9. Try aeorth's cm9, I doubt we would ever be officially supported but it's good enough for me.
I have little wifi issues as well as gps issues but nothing I am too overly concerned about.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
make sure you have a stock image to reflash should it not work.
also make sure that you use a recovery with the "bricking" problem fixed.
I have flashed cm9 and changed dpi but the nav bar just disappear.. I was about to edit the framework-res.apk in order to be able to get a working multidpi framework but then cm10 aorth came out with cm10 nexus 7 mode so pointless to do so..
Go try cm10 its awesome and everything works... A perfect build..
Posted this just in case someone is looking the same thing I was looking for...

J1 radio question

Hey everyone is it possible that switching to the J1 radio from the stock radio can decrease your wifi signal as well as 3G/4G? I am asking because it seems lime it has since I upgraded to the J1 radio. Thanks!

I believe that it does not change the wifi radio at all just your 3g/4g connections. don't kill me if im wrong
It may. If your running a stock rom (ics), that radio is from the jb leak. I'd stick with the he radio. I was actually running the j1 on liquid r7 and had some issues, and that's jb. Running now on eclipse 4 which has the current jb rpm cooked in and the radio is great.

What ROM are you running? Could be compatibility issues of its an ICS one, and typically it doesn't mess with your wifi, just your 3/4G .

4.2 performance

Can some users comment on the performance of the 4.2 ROM's out there. How to they compare to EOS3.
Sent from my Z10 using Tapatalk 2
Running CM-nightly on MZ601, I can not see any difference in performance between EOS and CM.
have tried all 4.2 roms. cm and eos are nearly same. Orca is smoother with slightly more bugs.

To quite honest with you I thought Eos 4 was a flop compared to Eos 3. That was until I installed "Elemental X" kernel. Now it has the performance that it desperately needed, even with animation added!!!

I'm on dreamcwli's My Android with Elemental X 0.7 and it gives the best performance that I've ever had on my Xoom.
Haven't tried Orca as I thought it would be too bloated, surprised to hear its running so well, good, the more roms the better.
But generally a near stock ROM is fine for me on my tab

I'm running cm10.1.. Really fast and responsive..I'm running v6 supercharger scripts and overclocked to 1500 mhz.. Only problem I have is space, I could barely fit a 160 mb Rom with no room for gapps. .. Does anyone know how to increase the size of the system partition??

You cannot change the system partition.
Ensure that you are using the appropriate Gapps for the ROM and not just the standard ones

I am using EOS4 190 nightly with Elemental X 0.8 and it works very well. The newer Elemental X kernals seem a little laggier to me.
Yeah I think I had tried one of the first nightlies for 10.1 back in January and noticed a lot of lag, but April nightlies seem just as fast as 10.0 pretty much. YMMV.
The navbar still drives me nuts but I'm working on that.

[Q] What is the best rom for me :)? (7.0)

Hey.
I am going for a trip tomorrow, i need good rom for my device .
Samsung Galaxy tab 2, 7" (love this device so much )
I want good rom with: Battery life, gaming performance, smooth UI!
I've tried Sungsonic (USB Problems, and i dont really like TouchWiz)
Cyanogenmod 9. (Little bad performance)
Cyanogenmod 10. My Favourite. - But it has some problems. Text is little bit blurry. App drawer, settings are little laggy when open. Performance would be little better, but its good! Icons on dock are blurry too .
Thank you for reading.
I appreciate your work!!!!!!!!!!

i'll give u a suggestion...i havent tried pacman rom yet, but till now IMO cm10.1 is the smoothest!
even i found text and icons to be blurry..so i suggest u to use that rom with nova launcher prime (u can set custom icon size) and set the system font size to large!
that solves the problem for me...im using the 20130316 nightly with KK cm kernel core 0.2..everythings buttery smooth!
gives me about 5 hrs of screen usage (which really good and just an hour less than what stock rom gives with power saving mode on..
Cheers!
P.S:im gonna try PACMAN rom now
Running pac rom here also and loving it.
I've ran CM10.1, Sungsonic, romswell, ota 4.0.4 and 4.1.1 and without a doubt the best so far is pac rom.
But honestly the battery life is the same on all of these roms, don't let anyone tell you otherwise
EDIT: after having pac rom for quite a few days I take back that last statement. This is the best battery life on a rom I've seen so far

The stock jelly bean 4.1.2 rom is great, with nova launcher and KKboot kernel for OC. I have a GT-P3113 and I use the stock jelly bean for GT-3110 it works great, smart remote peel works the mic works, accelarometer works.

What is a Hybrid?
Hybrid kernel means the core although still has the 3.4.0 kernel label, it has incorporated many advanced features available only on Linux 3.8+ and beyond. I have backported many of those advanced features for Linux 3.4, hence the name hybrid!
