Hey everyone is it possible that switching to the J1 radio from the stock radio can decrease your wifi signal as well as 3G/4G? I am asking because it seems lime it has since I upgraded to the J1 radio. Thanks!

I believe that it does not change the wifi radio at all just your 3g/4g connections. don't kill me if im wrong
It may. If your running a stock rom (ics), that radio is from the jb leak. I'd stick with the he radio. I was actually running the j1 on liquid r7 and had some issues, and that's jb. Running now on eclipse 4 which has the current jb rpm cooked in and the radio is great.

What ROM are you running? Could be compatibility issues of its an ICS one, and typically it doesn't mess with your wifi, just your 3/4G .

I gave up my nexus for my t989 months ago. Gave my nexus s 4g to my gf. Basically I'm out on he loop and don't know what to flash for her. I just need stability. At its best for this phone whether its gb or ics. I'm tired of her complaining about her phone to me lol. She's having volume issues. Overheating issues.. I just need a quick update on what the latest radio for the nexus s 4g is and what rom provides daily driver stability. Thanks for the input fellas.

hi, I've tried most of the roms here on xda.
I've been running for few months (prior to jelly bean) Codename 2.0 ics 4.04.
never had a issue with this ROM, no overheating or other crap.
but u might want to flash some stock, since ur GF is looking for stability.
I'd say go with CM9 RC1. It's been OEM-stable for me without having to go back to stock and it's definitely faster than any stock rom I've ever used.
Well I don't really care for speed. Just need extreme stability lol all she does is text and play elemental and triple town lol what's the latest radio anyways? The last thing I flashed for her was the June 23 cm7 nightly. Which I assumed would be more than good enough as it was what I used to run for a daily driver. But I never updated the radio. She's on d720sprkl2.

Okay guys, im relatively new here but I'de like to think I know enough to get around and rom properly
I'm currently on a RAT Locked Radio (UCLF6) and an ATT ROM ICS (Sky ICS 4.2F) and am looking to switch to an AOSP or AOKP ROM that is very clean, simple, and as stock AOSP as possible.
The main issue I am having with my ROM is that the RAT is locked and I really needed the option of turning off LTE because I am in a test area and I keep getting flaky reception due to this. So i know to flash a RAT Unlocked Rodgers radio, heres the issue:
I cant seem to find any info out there on which ROMs that are purely AOSP and will support the radio that I seek. I also cant seem to figure out which ones people are using the most.
So Android community, what radio / Rom combo do you guys think would work for me? I'm honestly confused and any input is greatly appreciated.
Not sure about the radio side of things, but I love the CyanogenMod9 Rom. Very slick. Currently in nightly. I would only use a ROM from the developers section. (i.e.- don't just download a from zip from some random site....)
Best thing is to follow one of the noob guides to a T.
Lots of bricked Skyrockets out there...
I run CM9 nightly builds with CWM as my recovery. Works great!
Happy Modding!

If you want pure ICS. Go with cm9. You can use any rogers radio along with it as long as its ICS based. So the radio for their official release should work perfect.

Didn't i hear that people would flash Rogers radio and it would allow the ability to toggle lte
I also think there is data code you can type in dialer that takes you to engineer mouse or something like that don't ask me that is all i know
oh and cm9 ftw paired with instigators kernel
CM9 Skyrocket

anyone have a link to the CM9 thread? I cant seem to find it for some reason -_-
This thread is your friend: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1785999
Which then leads to these:
Official CM9 For Skyrocket: http://get.cm/?device=skyrocket
or
Cyanogenmod 9 with UCLF6 libs: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1762998
Myself, I would like to try the official CM9 RC2. Just wondering what Gapps are and if it's needed or beneficial on the official CM9.
I just switched over to CM9 RC2
This rom is smooth but the battery life is terrible and the LTE toggle isnt working properly.
Can i flash Rogers radio over this? anyone have any tips or suggestions? will the radio affect the ROM?

Gapps= Google Apps.
Gmail, maps, gallery...etc...
Not mandatory but why have an android phone if you don't use the Google integration???

Not that it matters but maps isn't in gapps anymore it's on the play store
CM9 Skyrocket

Try the nightly cm9 and the custom kernal for it. Cymbaline I believe. Or embryo used both and haven't had any issues.
Sent from the dark side of CM9 on my skyrocket.
I prefer Instigators with the Bad ass Script.... runs awesome on RC2 or the current nightly...

I am running CM10 because I wanted a taste of jelly bean, but now that jb is being rolled out for the Nexus s 4g I am wondering if it will still do the automatic update from sprint? I would rather use Sprints version of jb for the nexus s 4g. Will the OTA update still be sent to my phone if it is not running the stock rom?
No.

Where can I find this, though? I didn't make a copy of it when I started flashing new roms.

But isn't it possible that Sprint made a better running ROM for this phone that CM did? Can I expect the CM Jelly Bean ROMs to get better for the Nexus S 4g because Sprint released their version?
I know my noobness is showing but seriously I am trying

Your choice: stock rom (sprint ota) vs custom rom (cm10). Custom rom gives you more tweaks, enhancements, better battery life, etc...
A little bit of googling for sprint nexus s 4g ics factory images will take you right to the google page with the factory images. After flashing the 4.0.4 image, the jb ota should arrive. Of course read all instructions before flashing, and you will lose all apps/data

Help. I've read several threads in the development section. All I want is a stable, basic, rooted JellyBean on my i815. I plan on cutting the data package with Verizon in a week or two and so all I need is wifi. Is there a ROM similar to a stock JellyBean available yet?
Dazed and confused... Thanks.
110 views and not one suggestion?
Look under development. I've had Daniels paranoid ROM 1.0 10.1 on for a month with no problems. Bluetooth dosnt work, but 3g and 4 g do

I have been using a Skyrocket on T-mobile using the Tmobile Embryo rom and blaze radio and it works fine. But now Im getting tired of the messed up Auto-Rotation on the phone so Im thinking of just using a standard stock skyrocket rom with the no ril Tmobile radio I have been using.
Can anyone recommend a skyrocket rom that is closest to Stock Touchwiz OS that is rooted that I can install using TWRP ?
Embryo is the only tw based rom I know of

Thanks. Then Ill just install Embryo 7.0 for skyrocket and then the tmobile radio.
Or, just flash the cymbaline kernel from the embryo thread.
