Found a few LG Nexus 4 promo pictures

Mods: if this is the wrong forum section sorry, and by all means move to relevant.
Anyway, today i was in my local carphone warehouse and saw these two pictures in a display advert... Clearly shows a few specs of the LG nexus, pictures and price and colour options... Thoughts?

Phone is looking pretty good, but a little... boring? I'm in doubt about the quality. Imo LG phones nowadays are pretty nice, but the quality is not so good. Too bad.

No they were on display with all the other phones on the wall in the store itself

Lg has never impressed me with any android device. Maybe this will be a big step forward for them. The pic's look very similar to the samsung nexus. suppose to have a quad core on lte that would be nice.

I recommend you to just wait till the phone is in stores available, so you can go there and feel the phone in your hands. For you, your opinion is the most important (compared to others).
Because it's a Nexus phone, all the updates will be served by Google, instead of LG. That's the reason of most people who buy a Nexus phone: the update support.

Is Nexus S still a good buy?

I'm planning on buying a new phone this April after my exams.
My budget is real tight, and it goes upto INR18000-19000 tops ($350 approx by today's rate). I have found A nexus s for real cheap, in new condition on a site. Should I go for it, or should I wait for the s3 mini? Nexus S is a great phone, and as long as it gets the KLP (5.0) update from CM, which I'm quite sure it will, I have no problem with it.
Please advise me. Thanks a bunch in advance!!

I'm getting it for $245 approx. Used to get it for 20k which is $360 approx.

You can get it cheaper than that. I paid $120 CDN for mine. At that price, you can probably swing a used S3, or even a new Nexus 4.

Nexus 4 not yet released here. Imported at 30k. That's the least price atm. That's around $545....

I wouldn't recommend it. It's definitely showing its age and even a Galaxy S2 would serve you better.

One vote more for S2. S2 is widely spread prices are low. Dont like the looks, but the size is perfect and it's much faster than NS.

I feel at $350 you would be better off buying an S3 or One X+ and getting it shipped to India. The NS is a great phone, but it's showing it's age.

I'd keep looking, I just bought one for $150 in good shape on craigslist. They were a good bit higher on ebay.
edit: like someone mentioned I have seen decent S3s for about $300, suppose it could be very different where you're at though.

250 for nexus s is too much I think. Ten minutes on sale sites in my country and I found 10 advertisements for the nexus I9250 for max 300 dollars (max price is for one month old). I suggest you to search a little longer or wait a few days. When new nexus will be released in your country, people will start to get rid of the old one to get money for the new (as in here, retail price for nexus is more than 500 dollars here, but nexus 4 its about to launch so people are getting desperate to get money)

It's a phone from 2010, so its a bit older.
I have the nexus s for 1.5 year, and i must say I'm still happy with it.
One coin, I have a nexus s with the "unresponsive touchscreen" problem.
Sometimes after unlocking the device there some unresponsive spots on the screen. This is easy to fix. (turn on/of the screen)
Its a hardware problem, but only some nexus s devices have that problem
When you find a good deal, i say buy it! But when you have the money to buy a newer devices, i should buy a newer one

Yup. Agree with all of you. Probably getting an SGS3 Mini. Suits my needs, and its new too!

Tell me where I can get a N4 for less than 300$
I have been looking for a replacement for my NS, that is starting to get old + much random reboots. The cheapest Nexus 4 I can find from ebay is about 550$, and the local shops sell it for 800$.
From what I've heard, it is pretty cheap in countries like Germany, where it is available from Google Play. I really wish Google Play would sell it's devices to Finland...

In Germany the official price is slightly above 400 dollars for 8gb version the 16gb version is for 550 if I read it right I wish that my country have Google play shop also... is really nice price for a new superb phone...

[Discussion] Any alternatives to the Nexus 4?

I'm looking for an unlocked phone that wont break the bank, had high hopes for the new 6589 phones from China but between the 2GB RAM bugs and the subpar graphical performance (wasn't expecting much from the A7 cores from the start) combined with in most cases >$230~$299 prices for some of the actually good quality units (like the UMI) make me think the N4 is still the best bang for your buck out there.
Which is kind of sad given its not that new anymore and has that pain in the ass storage handicap, but the S4 Nexus being as expensive as an iphone5 is IMHO just too much money for a phone that might at best last 2 years before its effectively obsolete.
Frankly I can't find any alternatives to the N4 at that price range, can you?

Lg optimus g. There's many variants. There at&t variant has external SD plus internal SD. The lgog n the n4 are internally the same device. The lgog just had more options

The phone can be unlocked. Any gsm phone can be unlocked. There's also a Sprint variant, 2 Canadian variants, and a Korean variant. Pick your poising n unlock it.

Take nexus 7 ..

I know it can be unlocked, but I'm stuck with contract anyway, or have to pay full price which is much higher than the N4.

stick to the N4, you can't do much better with your money, or take a look at chinese phones but obviously you won't get the same support (custom rom)

I could reccomend the HTC ONE it's almost the same price

Been following the new iphone 5s/c press conference and actually was waiting for something great.. but the innovations seems to have dissapeared with steve jobs.. in my opinion.. sad to see they seem to stay with the 4 inch screens at apple, a 4.7 inch iphone and i would have got one the day they released it.. if they'll continue to stay with the "old and reliable" concept they will soon be upon a new nokiagate. . Just some thoughts of mine

More than one reason to not like the Iphone believe me. Although for some looking for a simple easy to use interface that does require them to think then its great. I too was expecting more since if they came out with something big it would only entice and push the android developers to go even bigger. Sadly the phone is still small still boring but now boring and small with colors...

Free fingerprint-database with linkage to name, phone numbers, photos and GPS data for the public to access, what's not to like?
(Yes i'm referring to the security vulnerabilities in apple products which is a fact causing concerns not only for private people but for large companies as well)

I think they cannot use bigger screen because it means they need bigger resolution to keep the retina display trademark. Bigger resolution makes problem for apps. Iphone apps cannot automatically adapt to different screen resolution like android.
This I think is the flaw of ios.

XDA members always has been my tech support but hardware problems always gets to me.

But if they are releasing 100 phones a week for the next 2 months it will take a year before enough devs have the phone and can do good stuff..

Yeah but LG G3 and S5 prime is going to cost 600$/euro at least(like every other their flagship). Which is 2 times more than Oneplus One. I think Nexus 6 will be released later after August but who knows...

Yea I love the 1+ wish they would got the snapdragon 805 or tegra k1 801 they have only be new for 3 months maybe. the Amazon phone looks interesting if cheaper then the one.

Hi Everyone, Not been here for a while, since I defected to apple... Anyway, really looking forward to this OPO, I think its going to be a turning point for some flagship market domineers.
What I'd like to know is, does anyone know which retailers or phone outlets will be selling it?

To my understanding no retailer will ever sell the one plus one. You need to buy it directly from them. Though that's at least a couple months away.
