[Q] Cant wipe transformer tf101 - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was using my transformer for about 6 months and decided to take it to the next level and root it. so all went well and i got it rooted and then decided to add a custom rom. Now keep in mind I am a major NOOB. So i install rom manager from the play store and follow a video guide to put a jellybean rom on it. So i follow it and i crewed up somewhere. but now it just gets stuck at the boot logo. when i try to go into clockword mod recovery it works but fails to mount anything. When i try to wipe it just gets stuck and stays that way intil its have to force it to power off (trust me it not gonna do anything at the wipe screen i left it trying for an hour and nothing happened). So now im stuck with this broken transformer thats not able to do anything

ROM Manager does NOT work for the TF101.
Use EasyFlasher to flash CWM or TWRP using APX mode.

[Q] How to unbrick my transformer?

So here's my story. I rooted my transformer (rooted with razorclaw and CWM recovery, had no problems) and I wanted to update the firmware, sooo. I followed some walk through on unrooting by downloading the stock recovery and stock rom to my sdcard then unzipping them and loading them with CWM recovery. I let it boot and rebooted to load in the stock rom. Then I rebooted and loaded the stock recovery and rebooted again. And now it wont start up past the "Asus Eee pad Transformer" screen and just stays on it. I can get into part of stock recovery and wipe data and cold boot linux. But when I try to get into the other half of recovery options it just does the little robot unpacking the stuff then I get a triangle with an exclamation mark saying it failed to load. I tried using NVflash with the prime v1.4 ROM and failed. The starting S/N is B90 so that's why I figured NVflash didn't work...Because I have V2 SBK not V1. I can go into APX mode but it's getting really frustrating, WHAT CAN I DO??
I don't think you were supposed to unzip those files. Those are CWM flashable zip files

I actually dont think I did unzip them so ignore that...I used this method at the unlockr

Yeah cause i was thinking if you did unzip it wouldn't flash anyway.
How long does is sit at the asus screen?
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk
forever until it dies, I can only get partially into recovery like I mentioned. Also when it charges it just shows that screen too(had to charge it cuz I got so frustrated I just left it and it ended up dying).
Please someone help, I have no idea how to flash a rom to my Device without NVflash. Is there some other program I could try that would work? I basically just need to flash a rom onto my device then I can try installing stock recovery again
Long shot but maybe try this, it's what peoples are doing to downgrade. Hopefully the recovery might pick it up after you reboot into recovery.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20799328
I'll try this, but the download is taking forever...I'll have to update tomorrow thanks for your help
I tried in both the LOST.DIR folder and the main directory...the device didn't recognize it. I don't know what to do
Is there any other way to flash a rom on my transformer besides NVflash? or any other method? I'm up for anything now...does anything think if I sent it in to company they could do a restore?
The company could do a restore, but they will probably charge you since you rooted. You could try, or you could lie, and say it goobered after installing the update.

[Q] Help with stuck in EEE page

My tf101 rooted and using rom Prime android 3.2 rom before. I would like to update to ICS.
Then I updated my recovery by using rom manager app.
After that my tf101 stuck at EEE page can load into recovery.
I can only hold vol down and power wait for cold boot into my rom. Otherwise the tf101 will only stay at the EEE page.
If press vol down and power . Then press vol up. It will said load recovery image kernal and stay.
Pls help me how can i boot into recovery and properly flash another rom. Tks
Don't use rom manager to get the recovery use gnufabio's recovery installer
The problem is it will hold at EEE page.
and only said load kernal recovery image.
You will need to re-install your software. This will restore your tablet to the .17 software and completely wipe your tablet, all partitions and recovery. You will be able re-root your tablet with Razor Claw on .17 software, then install the updates using OTA Root Keeper to get to the current version.
You can get the NVFlash version of .17 here. I imagine you know how to NVFlash your tablet, if not take the time to read how not too bad really. Just install the Asus drivers to your computer. There are threads that show you how and it's well worth the time to read them.
I tried installing a recovery through ROM Manager while at work with no access to a computer and did the same thing to my tablet. The good news is after completely wiping my tablet installing the stock software, and incrementally upgrading with root, my tablet has never been better and a lot of the little nagging problems have disappeared so it wound up being well worth the time and effort. Just take your time, read the directions for NVFlash and you will be good to go.
P.S. After you sign into your Google account your apps will begin to download again so it's not the wet blanket experience you might expect.
Use the recovery installer app: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1346180&highlight=recovery+installer
See if it lets you install a new recovery, otherwise you may have to reflash your SOS and EBT (bootloader) partitions to fix this.
Cold-booting android (just hold vol-down and wait) should let you get into the OS.

[Q] tf101 problems

I have a B50 tf101 running raymans cm10 v6. Everything was going fine until i went to use it today. It started out saying I was running out of memory space, so i did a factory reset. After doing that, everytime i try to reboot, it goes straight to cwm recovery. I tried reflashing the rom, but now in cwm it only reads my internal sd card in which everything is still there, but now it wont read my ext-sdcard where i have my backups and roms. i tried using one of the restore tools, easyflasher and brk_rootkit, but everytime i go to restore and it tells me to go into APX mode which i do, it says it cant load the bootloader. I can get the rom to boot if i hard restart the tablet and let linux cold boot itself, but if i go to restart it, it goes straight back to cwm every time. i tried loading twrp on it from goo manager but that didnt work. i'm stuck now with a half working tablet that i cant get back to factory form. someone please help!

Use easy flash and push twrp recovery.

I've already tried that, it doesn't work. It says it does, but everytime I go to recovery, it boots into CWM.
I've been so frustrated with this tablet lately i'm ready to get the Nexus 7 so i don't have these stupid issues, be as easy as modding my Galaxy Nexus.

[Q] Help i think i bricked my system

So i got a new T F 300T yesterday and wanted to root it today.
I unlocked it and rooted it successfully. But then I tried installing a recovery. Installed CWM using fastboot. tried booting into it using RCK. It says booting into recovery mode and just reboots to OS. Installed CMW touch, same problem. Installed TRWP since i read that cmw has some problems. Now i used the 1 click root 1.1 to boot into recovery mode. The device now keeps rebooting. IT starts on the asus screen, then reboots again. So im stuck in a boot loop. When I press vlm dwn +power, it doesnt give me a menu anymore , instead it says that its rebooting into recovery mode and reboots again. Im freaking out right now, anyway to recover my device? Or is it 400 bucks down the dran? I dunno why this happened , since i am not new to flashing ROMs and stuff, and ususally test out new ROMs using my GNex. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Hi there, sucks to hear what happened..
I believe you haven't put in enough research, ASUS has a publicly available unlocker for the 300T, why did you use a 3rd party root app?
Can you still boot Android? If you have root and your recovery partition is broken, there should still be a way to overwrite the recovery partition.
If not, this basically looks like a brick, unless you can hook up a debugger during the boot process somehow.
Someone with in-depth knowledge of this device might be able to help you out further, I'm just theorycrafting here.. Best of luck!
I would try using fastboot to reflash stock firmware, which you can download from the Asus website.
You could also try getting into APX mode and using nvflash to reflash it.

Stuck in startup animation loop

I unlocked and rooted my tablet yesterday and everything appeared to be working fine. After using it for a couple hours and restarting it a few times it stopped working and is now locked in a boot loop. When I try boot the tablet it comes on and gets to the animation where the glint of light goes across the Asus logo but it does not finish and instead it stops there and I get the moving circles at the bottom. I've left it running there for several hours and it just hangs.
I've tried erasing the data and booting to linux but the same thing happens when I try either of those.
I've also tried flashing a number of different ROMs, but all that happens is it starts installing and then I get the Android guy on his side error screen.
I hadn't done anything to the ROM and was still running 10.6.1.14.4. I even downloaded that same ROM from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2266519 but I get the same error message when I try flash that ROM.
I would really, REALLY appreciate any ideas at all - and thanks in advance for any suggestions.

this gonna sound odd but i had exact same prob when i rooted and flashed chromix rom. it went. what i did was flash it once with the rom with secure wipe, then i flashed again. and it got stuck at optimizing apps, then i tried reflashing couldnt get it to boot, what i ended up doing was using clockwork mod to factory reset my tablet, then had to restart, and reflash, this time it actually got to main screen. dont let it discharge/reboot for awhile as im bout to post a issue im having with it. but thats what i did to make it work for me.

I'm not sure I understand --- how do I get to the clockwork mod if i can't get past the startup animation? And I've tried a bunch of roms with secure wipe and i get an error from every one of them.
didnt you install clockwork mod first?

the thing i found showed me to installed the clockwork mod first before i did any flashing, i rooted device then i flashed once clockwork mod was installed, i had to root, then install rom manager and goo manager, from within there i installed the clockwork recovery script/mod then i proceeded to flash chromi-X DEODEX.
Did you flash the correct bootloader? I had the same problem, look for my posts in the last few pages of ChromiX.

Seems to me you installed Asus factory stock rom JB 4.2.1 (10.6.1.14.4), which means you have the latest bootloader, then you unlocked and rooted your device, however, you never installed any custom recovery like TWRP or CWM (clockmod). Now your device is boot looping. You need to boot into stock recovery by turn off your device, hold volume down and power button until you see white text on the screen, now release both buttons, you should see 3 icons (RCK, Android and wipe data). NOW you are in fastboot mode. Let me know at least you can get that far, before we continue....

buhohitr -- You're exactly right. I can boot into stock recovery. When I select Android or wipe data it goes back to the animation screen and hangs up. When I select RCK it goes to the Android guy and says installing update but then it show him fallen over and the word Error. I've tried RCK with a memory card that has a number of different ROMs on it but the same thing keeps happening.

Give this a try, the factory Asus firmware zip file that you downloaded, unzip the file, you should see another zip file, rename this new zip file to "EP201_768_SDUPDATE.zip" (without quotation), then copy it to the root of your sdcard then boot into stock recovery and execute the RCK again. Make sure you don't have any other zips laying around in the root of your sdcard.
You are truly a god among men.

THIS WORKED!!! Thanks so much. I was really worried I had bricked it.
So now one last question --- WHY did that work? Is there somewhere I could go to read up on this kind of stuff? I've tried surfing the XDA forum but there's a lot of stuff like this where someone gets there problem solved, but not much explaining why something worked so I can learn more about it.

Somehow the stock recovery was reinstalled on your tablet, thus letting this method work. It however does not on CWM or TWRP. All you did was manually reinstall a stock rom back onto your tablet. How it got the stock recovery is beyond me unless you flashed a stock ROM from CWM and didnt realize what you were installing.

Since the JB 4.2.1 upgrade, this is the most reliable method to install Asus full stock firmware. Also, since you're unlocked, let root the device by go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2230763 download the tool and root it. Once rooted, I suggest that you should install TWRP custom recovery, by download Goomanager from the market, open the app and tab on the 3 little boxes on the top right hand corner, select "install recovery scripts" , this will shutdown your device and install custom TWRP recovery script, once this installed, you can download "rebooter" from the market and this app has many options, one of them is allowed you easily boot into custom recovery.
