[MOD] Beats Audio [Updated 1/21/13] - Galaxy Note 10.1 Themes and Apps

Please Make a Backup First Before Flashing..
I looked around and seen we didn't have a MOD for Beats Audio so i created one for us... Walkman player is included and will be needed to use for the beats audio mod
Flash this through CWM Recovery...
You will need to do a fresh install.. Do not flash over other sound mods or other beats audio mods..
the sound might not work if flash over other sound mods and might make sound worse..
Once installed go to system settings >Sound>Music effects>click BeatZ.
Now go to Walkman Player app and listen to some music. while music is playing. click top menu icon and than sound enhancements.. adjust eq settings.
THIS IS MY NEW MOD THAT WORKS WITH ALL APPS
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2111763

Thanks for making this. Ill give it a go and tell you how it went.

Re: [MOD] Beats Audio
Is this different from the beats audio in the market? I've been using that one for awhile with no issues.

Got it..you have to use the walkman app for it to work. Tried it with amazon and changing the eq had no effect. Used the walkman app and had super bass..sux cuz I have 150 gigs of music so I stream it through amazon. But the walkman app had massive bass man..good work!

Beats port (WORKING)

As the name says it is beats port for our x 10.
I took libs and other files from other original thread which was in xda news
http://db.tt/wfdrRqCq [xrecovery]
http://db.tt/mRVRhXXy(according to original post it works on any gb rom.)
It really works ;-)
And i hope you have a recently made backup of your rom or if you don't have make a backup before.
And don't forget to hit thanks

Can I ask what "beats" is?
Beats is a sound EQ "Beats by dre" that enhances the sound quality as seen in the newer sense 3.5 ports/roms. Only active when headphones are plugged in. When working properly it sounds pretty nice.

Using Cobrato's MIUI 2.30 with DSP Manager. Didn't notice any difference on my Creative EP-630 earplugs after flashing. Will it work *only* with Beats headphones?
can this be flashed with cwm too?
and can it be turned off?

You have to ask if it will only work on stock firmware.

It works well with cm7 and cwm 9, don't know about miui.
Didn't test it on stock, so can't say anything.
And you need very good quality headphones to notice the changes.

How do I make a flashable zip?
I flashed it with xrecovery, however I didn't notice any change in the sound nor does beats sign shows when I plug in headphones.
I believe there is supposed to be some framework edits and apks that go with the libs. Well, maybe. Im not sure how it is on your device I just know that on ours we need all that plus a kernel with beats support and drivers since the beats sound needs a drive of about 1.2ghz to push it to hear a highly noticable difference. Jyluat trying to help. Beats is a big thing in evo and 3D forums you can probably find more information there
Works on MIUI

Well I doubt there'll be a 'modded' Google Music apk with equalizer. You could try searching for ways to enable CM's DSP Manager on TouchWiz ROMs though.

If you have a rooted phone then I'd recommend installing Volume+ which lets you not only increase the volume but also has an equaliser that is applied to all audio.
If you have your music on the SD card, then use powerAMP. It has the best equ I've found. If you have to use google music, then install DSPmanager
So, you have a stock ROM with a music player that has it's own equalizer. And you want someone to modify the Google Music APK to use your default music player's EQ, when the default player's EQ can't be used by other music players? How much sense does that make? Or am I just getting this completely wrong?

Better audio - Beats audio

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone has tried to install Beats audio
play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.motioncoding.beats
It should run even under stock firmware (root needed) and it's supposed to increase audio performances. I'm not sure it can be easily uninstalled, and someone says it could damage the system.
Opinions about it?
Thanks.

The one in the play store isn't working on our devices.
The one that works is here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=23143266
Choose the beatsaudio 5.1 (SGS2). It is a zip file that can be flash with the stock recovery, so root is not needed.
Remind you, when the zip done, it is not reversible. So backup your stuff before flashing it. If you want it uninstalled, you have to flash the stock rom via odin.

It kind of worked. I didn't find a way to install acid audio engine manually, but I managed to install Viper 4 android and it dosen't work with walkman so i have to use VLC. But I don't think there's an improvement of loudness. I might be wrong but I really want to try out acid and I just can't find a way
