I have a swedish n8000 (3g), and I want to root it and install custom firmware!
What I get confused about is all the differen country versions, I dont want to loose the ability to use my sim card, and I love all the other stock rom features!
So basicly, I want a stock based rom that has all the original functions, but I also want to be able to use flash and any app in the multi window option (not just samsung apps), and still be able to use my tablet as a phone and have 3g connectivity!
So my question is, is there a rom that will allow me to do all that?
Do I even have to bother about roms for the right country? In fact I dont even see a swedish based custom rom anywhere!
Please, any help will be greatly appreciated!

I have an Australian Tablet. So far I have ran with UK, Indian and finally German rom. I have never had any problem with the telephone functions...
No problems stock or rooted, I prefer rooted...

hhmm.. if you want stock but a little loosened up., try darkman_RS' rom.. if you want a themed rom with some mods.. then try redemption rom (the most popular rom here).. or you could try my rom..
but try visiting the threads and flash the you like best.. the installation process are the same anyways..

Thanks, I really appreciate all your help, and indeed I am going to try and read about as many roms as possible!
Basically what I am looking for right now is a stock based rom (don't want to loose any functionality!), where I can use flash in browser, use other then just the stock samsung apps in multi Window view, and be able to over clock!
I just tried installing the redemption rom, and it seems to work nicely, I managed to get flash working and I can use my own apps in multi window!
What I don't have is the ability to over clock and I don't like the black color in play store!
I did try to choose stock theme under the installation process, but the store is still black!
As I understand, I can only over clock if I change to a kernel that supports over clocking?
What I don't understand is where I can find a kernel that will work with a stock based rom, and support over clock?
I realize it's alot of questions, but I really appreciate any answers I can get in order to find a perfect combo for my taste!

try tegrak overclock it's free on google playstore and you don't need to change kernels.. just download it.. :thumbup:

Firstly Thanks to Gary for all the rooting stuff and then chrisrotolo for his tutor on how to deodex stuff... while waiting the CM9 port, IF Samsung ever release ICS and we got nothing to do... and it happen that i got free time at my work today... sooo i just deodex the latest Thai Firmware release on MArch 2012 - Build Number HTJ85B P6200DXLC1
Only test it on that firmware... so can say you cant try on others... got nothing much on that firmware... samsung just added some google software like google+ and its messenger... other thing dont have much different... maybe they fixed some bug that we dont know... cant find the released log...
Deleted some unwanted stuff so it is really light version... most of samsung software gone... including widget...
how to use it...
1. make sure you are on official DXLC1 firmware.
you can download the official firmware from here...

You need to flash this using Odin.
2. download the deodexed files here

my tab7plus becomes kindda fuk'ed up after flashing dxlc1.. random reboots, for the first few hours, then.. stopped booting correctly.. reboot on every boot!
Guys did you see your build base before flashing this one? If you're coming from example KL7 or others you should NOT flash it! It's basic!
If you had the right build then things change but be sue before flash
For the language pack Just use MORE LOCALE app and you'll get your own lang

I have the same language pack issue flashing some themes. I don't know why but it pissed me off.
A quest , why are you flashing this one? Don't you have the European build EUKL1 CSC based on XKL7 PDA???

Hey dude, you don't need no Odin if you got the CWM Recovery. You only need to flash it with this one by "install zip from SDCard"
Before flashing anything (ROMs or kernels), it's always good to wipe at least dalvik and cache.
If you're flashing the same ROM that you ALREADY OWN on your device, you won't need no factory reset! By the way, for more cleaning, you're free to do it (even 'cuz you'll be able to restore all Google backups such as contacts or Gmail or passwords or apps in Google Play - you won't never lost your SD partition if you wipe your data factory... You'll lost it only with a full wipe)
Why don't you flash the DEODEXED instead of the odexed one? Better performance with the first one

I won't never advice you that...
First, I've seen such different firmwares (instead of the european one - XEUK7L1/XKL7) with no european language pack! So you're gonna risk if you flash this Thai firmware.
Second, with your XKL7 you own a radically different CSC instead of this one (which has OLBKK8) so you're gonna risk a weak modem for your country
Finally, even if you can flash it by full wiping, you should never do that

edit: best way to flash this firmware is with mobile odin if you want to keep root and CWM recovery

Thanks for the fast reply. I know the difference between the P5100 and the P5110. I'm not using the 3G, only wifi or tethering from my phone. Reading the instruction for the update it's "forbidden" to flash it into other variant of the tablet, so I'm a little scaried...

B) In the tutorial linked in the first post, it says something about clicking PDA in Odin and looking for the file that says "CODE". However, the file that I downloaded and extracted does not say "CODE" anywhere in its name. Is this a mistake in the tutorial or am I doing something wrong?

My p5110 status is "Official"...I came from the stock not rooted 4.0.4 Rom.

And the battery life?... it's better?... the wifi reception?... the butterness?... all in comparison with the 4.0.4 rom.

The rom runs fine, but when booting the screen ****s-up for a second (just before the samsung logo). Second thing is i don't have lockscreen shortcuts (not that i care) and it says modified in the status, but i think thats because i rooted it an removed some samsung crapp

Well I wouldnt Count on installing Custom Roms for Now If you Use I9070 Custom Roms over I9070p well we dont know what would happen??? nor there are any Kernels for the P Version so theres no chance of backing up via nandroid... Well Who Ever has the guts to do it like Me Try it i did it once bricked my device tried again conqured it i'll make an AOSP Rom for all you people too i'll Cal it Pure VanillaP

EDIT: Good news! I tried temporary cwm with Shaan method for JB and it worked well o my 9070P with JB
after flash JB on my 9070P and factory reset, I have in recorded video whistling sound. Does anyone else with that problem?

What ever way you decide to root and no matter what custom rom you flash make sure you read the directions all the way through first and follow the directions exactly. Because some of the custom roms require specific recovery versions.

Maybe that is why I'm so confused... can u recommend one that is easy and very close to stock? I would forever greatful

Noticed a considerable performance increase over other ROMs. Not having Touchwiz or any other Samsung apps is also a big bonus for me.

Make sure u flash kernel as above makes a big difference

the device has the original ROM on it.

For some reason this device never got the attention that others did. As such all rooms are based off stock. Your best bet is to root it and install Titanium Backup. Then remove all the boatware with it.
I'm running Rocket Tab Rom on mine and have been happy with it.

I've been running Rocket Tab Lite v3.1. The lite version doesn't have the Samsung stuff. I have had a very good experience with it. I also flashed the Blackhawk kernel.

I see no real difference from stock. This is not like a Cyanogenmod build, it still has the look of Touch wiz. Mainly it just has the Samsung apps removed. I have noticed a great improvement in both performance and battery life with the Rocket Tab ROM.

My advice is until there's more options.....root, get titanium backup and freeze a crapload of bloat...especially all the Samsung stuff, greenify and battery and smoothness are as good as it gets I think.

Hi,
Mt device stucked.
I tried the Rocket Tab guide and I flashed the PhilZ Touch recovery from here:

Which had a link to this page (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2653391 )
I flashed this recovery:
philz_touch_6.19.3-lt02wifi.zip
Then I tried to flash the Rocket ROM and I got an error and now the device stucked on Samsung logo.
Attached a photo shows the error.
Please help. Thanks
