So I was on stock jellybean kernel with Beans build 9, and I tried to change cpu with voltage control to 1512 mhz, but it kept defaulting to 1028. I thought it was a kernel problem or app problem. I flashed kt47 kernel, and same thing, even though the settings said it is set at 1512, the dynamic mhz always shows it tops at 1028? Does anyone have a fix or seen something like this?
What program are you using to scale the cpu?

ok, so I WAS using voltage control, but
since, I have flashed kt47 kernel and is using ktweaker but the settings still don't stick. Even when I set the max as 1512, the dynamic shows 1080 as max... And whenever I restart the app, it asks if I want to change the minmax setting, if I don't, then it is clocked defaulted at 1080?

I use Tegrak OC Pro with these settings.
Press optimization and enter these values.
level 0= 1200 - 1325 - 1100
level 1= 800 - 1075 - 1050
level 2= 400 - 1000 - 1000
level 3= 200 -900 - 980
level 4= 100 - 850 - 950
Make sure scaling is set to ondemand and set on boot is selected.
Then press Tweaks and make sure Io scheduler is set to deadline and
tweaks on boot is selected.
I got these settings from the thread linked below. (THANKS)
I have been using these settings for a few months with adrenaline shot on many different ROMS and I get at least 2 days battery life with regular use and my quad scores are 3000+. Phone never reboots, freezes, or gets hot.
I cant guarantee you will all have the same results but it mite be worth a try.

Just a quick note, be sure you test these settings out before you select set on boot or you may have some issues. Every phone is slightly different in its own way and these undervolt settings may be too low and cause instability. I've personally had to increase these voltages slightly (in the past) for stability reasons.
If you guys want to save some time and effort download my attachment, unzip it, then place it inside tegrak/overclock on your SD. Itll be loaded then into your profiles on tegrak, just select it from the list and whamo, 1.2ghz oc with undervolt settings.

Dont up the voltages and post some attachment like its the same thing when its not. I'v been using these setting for 3 or 4 months thats why I posted them. If you like yours better post your own thread.
Jeez you mad or something? Lol
its based on the same thing and I only upped them for stability. I've also been using them for like 3 months. I don't see your problem here.

Lol wtf? He never claimed them to be the same. He clearly stated it was the settings for 1.2ghz. He wasn't doing anything wrong here, you wanted to share your settings and he wanted to share his. What's wrong with this forum.

I have both nstools and setcpu running on my phone. Do I need both? I changed the Max to 1200 on nstools and set cpu changed to 1200. Should I just keep one or do they work off each other.
Thanks in advance

One of them is enough...i prefere NS-Tools because ther you can set a lot whit it..but it´s your decision..
the fact is only one is needed...
thanks. i just love the widget that gives me battery temps. but i guess i can do without it. If the back of my hand starts burning, i should probably stop what im doing.

better to use one apps...
I have a Skyrocket phone, running Sky ICS... and I've been trying to find out why cpu1 is off most of the time.
/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu1/cpuidle/state0/time = 534677824
/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu1/cpuidle/state1/time = 0
When I echo 1 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu1/online
And then cat the file back, the setting is zero.
How do I set it online? Is it possible?
Thanks in advance,
I flashed the a different kernel with Sky-ics and I use CPU tuner it shows I'm running both cpu's. I believe the ics update was to enable both cpu's anyway but then again I'm new to this and still in the process of learning haha give cpu tuner a shot hope any of this was helpful.

CPU...
Most of the time you probably don't want the other CPU running. 1 CPU is more than enough for most apps and tasks. I know Instigators Kernel basically shuts down one of the CPU's unless you need it. I am sure if you updated to the kernel in seans thread it also mods the CPU Governor. ICS by default has both CPU's going all the time.
So having 1 of the CPU's off is one of the benefits of modding. It saves precious battery. If you get a program such as CPU Spy, you should hover around 192 mhz when using the phone for light tasks. 1200+ is more graphic intense. If you start doing video and games, CPU #2 kicks in to help...
To change this setting on most roms, goto system settings>Performance>Processor and change the Governor type to one that suits your needs. I use Instigators Kernel with the Badass Script and I get AWESOME battery life and sit on 192 mhz most of the time and notice NO DIFFERENCE in the speed of the phone...
Hope that helps... if so, give me a Thanks...
If you punch CPU 1 in its kiniggits it will fire right up

So I just flashed the latest LeanKernel. I was wondering what voltage settings people are running. I went down -50mV. all across the board. Still at 1.51 though. I would greatly appreciate some suggestions or opinions.
You have pretty much done what you can. What governor and scheduler are you running?

Not so sure how to check and set that up -_- haha
Edit.
Stock. And the battery voltages are set on boot.

Well how did you adjust the voltages then? You would use the same app that you used to adjust the voltages, to adjust the governor and also the io scheduler.
I used system tuner. What does the governor actually do?

thank you for that! really appreciate it.
I've looked and searched everywhere but I can't find anything like this. On all of the JB roms, all of a sudden, my CPU frequency sits at the highest speed and won't move no matter what governor I use. Is there any way to solve this, I'm really at a loss. I installed CPU spy and it's showing that deep sleep is not used and that only 1200 MHz(the highest CPU setting I'm using) is being used. Help please. Thanks in advance.

Yeah, tried that already, a few times. I think it has something to do with my sd card. I'm gonna format it and see what happens.
So..I went all the way back to stock, and came back to JB and still experiencing the same problem. When I flash a JB rom, the CPU frequency gets stuck at the highest frequency until I select a different governor and reselect the one I want to use. Any help would be appreciated.

Nd yes, I am using the built in performance menu, but it has the same settings as nstools
Sent from my SGH-I997 using xda app-developers app
Are you using NSTools along with the built in performance menu? I had the same problem on Beanstalk with the SmartassV2 governor where my cpu would stick at 1200 mHz, but once i removed NSTools, smartass worked fine. perhaps try disabling or removing nstools?
Oh okay, I see what you are saying. I really like BLN, so you just don't use bln anymore?
Sent from my SGH-I997 using xda app-developers app
well try and see if it works. if your using beanstalk, then you can just use the BLN control - free app that scott has included as an addon. this app will enable BLN with timeout. you just can't change the blink speed with this app.
Well I disabled nstools and everything seems to be back in order. I'll report back if I see something else.
