[Q] liquid smooth - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

When I follow the download link in the liquidsmooth thread, there is no download for the actual ROM.
What's up??

Idk maybe they took it off goo. Its pretty outdated in my opinion anyway

I did manage to track it down.
I am running one of their roms on a vibrant and really like it...I have CM10 on the Skyrocket, it seems slow and boxy in comparison. If you think Liquidsmooth is pretty outdated I will listen to any recommendations.
Thanks

aosp?

i keep running into aosp THEMED roms, but none that are actually aosp. there are always traces of touchwiz, which means they are built on the samsung framework, which is no good for my cause.
because we have the whole qualcomm thing going on, does that mean no aosp for us?
Just got an unofficial its not ready for dd though

CM9 is AOSP based, NOT aosp though ^^^^^

It works pretty well.
Seems like it's a bit of a Frankenstein though. Has a bit of Gingerbread mixed with ICS, IMO. I could be wrong. But I'm pretty sure it's not 100% ICS bloodline.
The guys are doing a great job with it though. It is waaay snappier than any Gingerbread ROM I've ever tried. Give them a month to work out the final kinks and it'll be an amazing ROM.

Pick my ROM for me! Please!

Im taking the dive and I am going to flash a ROM tonight or tomorrow. Are there any ROMS for the Tmobile SGSII that are better than the Skyrocket ROM's or are the SR Rom's better? BAsically what i want is lag free performance and something that resembles as close so SGSIII as possible. I realize that those are in the works, but some of the SGSIII software is already in use in our Rom's. I await your advice! Some benchmark screenshots would be helpful as well. Thanks!

Give remf4i's s3 Rom a shot you may like that bro

Embryo 3.2 has a lot of SGSIII items included, including the launcher and S-Voice. I'm happy with it.
Smooth Ice has a GS3 variant as well. Haven't tried this one, but I did run Smooth Ice v3 for a bit and liked it a lot.
which one of those 3 has the most GSIII in it?
Actually its 2 roms I'm receding to smooth ics as well

SkyICS is a solid choice. I also had lots of luck with Embryo.
I personally am looking at team PTSD's latest build of AOKP. It's quite good, but updates very frequently. Probably not a good starter rom.
Nexusmod gb 4.3
Stable. Fast. Great battery life.
Been my fallback rom for a long time.
I know it doesn't have the sgs3 bits, but I personally have no use for them.

Nexusmod is by far the best!! I've tried about 5 different roms and I will and always come back to this one. If you try this, you will not want to try anything else. Matter of fact, maybe you should try others first, just so you can find out for yourself that it's the best.

Nexusmod is not on ICS.
EDIT: There is another Nexusmod ICS thread. My bad.
These are all good suggestions, just remember I want as much of the SGSIII as possible.
Smooth ice bro just try it lol as soon as me and the guys finish gs3 port I'll let you know haha

[Q] SlimBean vs. CM10 SuperLite

I've been using CM10 superlite for a while now, and was thinking of trying slimbean out. From what I read in the thread, they sound pretty similar, so I was wondering if anyone who has tried both wouldn't mind letting me know of the key differences between them, and whether or not the differences are big enough to be worth switching? Thanks!
There is a Jelly Bean discussion thread specifically for questions like this, and "best" threads are not allowed. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1738817

thanks but I'm not asking which is better, just what the differences are between them.
I bet if you read the first three pages and the last three pages of each thread you would know:thumbup:

Just make a backup, you can always go back
I've tried both, I prefer SlimBean to be honest.
But be sure BOTH are good, It's a personnal preference.
Also both can support CM10 kernel so :good: to both devs to let us many options!
Both are similar and great
Well slim bean is slimmer than Superlite... So if you want as bare bones as possible. I've tried both and I like slim bean more too. Although now I'm on liquid r2.

I would say the more gapps you load and the more you use your phone between both roms it wouldn't matter...either rom is going to give you the same end result basically

Ive tried them both and I believe it depends on your phone. I have a Samsung Infuse 4g. The CM 10 didnt seem to run as smoothly or as fast as SB. Of course, that was before the "stable" version was released the other day. Slim seems to take up a lot less space (memorywise too.) Im pretty happy with the bean (running 2.9)
Basically they are the same. Im no developer so I dont test all the intricacies but I would consider myself above novice level.

Anyone else more excited by Cyanogen's Nemesis announcement than googles 4.3? That camera looks amazing.

Looks great, it will be nice to have a universal camera app that can be used as a base for the community
I don't even remember when I installed NCamera... Gotta be at least 6 months (feels like it) and have been trying to find an update for it.
Thanks for the heads up. I tried the moto x cam but video doesn't work. I'll love it when that's stable, though.

Excited to see CM try to put back all the utility you lose when you load CM instead of a OEM based ROM..... zzzzzzzzzzzz
Please.... , if its anything like the effort at building a better CM launcher I won't lose sleep waiting.
Maybe the CM founder was right recently.

Wow, how cynical!
Much worth the effort to catch up to OEM camera considering the innumerable benefits to CM over TW. Camera is one of the FEW things keeping many on TW.

Cynical is accurate so. is innumerable .. innumerable = unable to be counted. I can;t count any.
As the former CM founder just said, "Do we even need root any more?" Why? Didn't he quit CM and go work for Samsung..... yeah he did.:cyclops:
And as i recall, also promptly quit Samsung.

I know my phone is faster than a stock S4, so I think root and AOSP in general has benefited my phone, yes.
Nothing like watching my S4-bearing friends drool over my phone.
