Tokio 2.0 - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

Hey guys.
A friend of mine won a Sega Tokio 2.0 tablet which is running ICS 4.0.4
Just wondering is it possible to root this device? Like a general root program maybe for ICS?
Also if it could be done then what kind of roms would I install? Again is there general tabet roms?
I know a fair bit about the basics but only ever used an galaxy S2 and S3 so there's always been plenty of specific info for these devices. Where as this tokio seems rare to get info.
Thanks

Tokio Smartphone
Similar problem , Tokio Smartphone won from Sega-prize , incompatible with Three network , wondering if there was a way of flashing rom to make it compatible with three

+1 for Tokia Smartphone.
It's actually a nice phone but I would like root.
Used driver from superoneclick and win 8 seemed to accept it.
Tried rooting it using SOC and Root by restore by binary but neither worked

ahh..none of them worked. any other suggestions?
is there a way to manually root it?
hi EKsandcake, I am also owing a YP GB1 too, I have not rooted it yet and still waiting for the method!!
haha, just wondering. have you found any method to root it yet? superoneclick and so many others never work..do you have any experience with other android devices? or is this your first one?
Nope, i am using stock room now,
This is my first Android device. I just switched from Symbian
Have you tried searching YouTube. That's where I find alot of info on rooting. Good luck
I'm afraid we'll really have to wait until the 4.0 and the 5.0 get released in the US. Hopefully then we'll get the pros developing these devices, if they become popular enough. And Apple won't interfere with sales as they did with the galaxy tab 10 and 7 in Germany...
When rooting: have you tried rooting from a mac or a pc? I understand that there are some differences.
Hey guys, the YB G70 (5 inch version) has been rooted successfully.
You can see here for more details

I am still waiting for one of the YP GB1 )

Does SuperOneClick actually work?

I have rooting experience when it comes to rooting methods that are specially designed for a model like Desire Z or S II (Both which I have rooted successfully).
However, my sister has a Samsung Galaxy Q, and seeing that it does not have any dev support at all, I wanted to root it, but there are no special roots just for it, so I think I am forced to use a generic one.
I have read that SuperOneClick might work, but I don't konw if it will work with the galaxy Q.
Any ideas?
well superoneclick does work, it rooted my LG vortex and the OG droid. only way to know if it works on your phone is to try it.
hell yea it works! ive rooted like 5 phones with it!
Rooted my MyTouch 3G perfectly with Super One Click

Help Galaxy Note 2 - Install ROM

Hey all, Im new here and have my first Android Phone
I have the Samsung Galaxy Note II SGH-I317M from Bell but had it unlocked and am using Koodo now!

As of right now i dont think paranoid has a release for the bell galaxy note 2 but im sure they will in time but if i were you i would try out AOKP first...i've found their roms rather amusing but as a pro racecar drive im biased towards performance...im not really a pro racer :good:

OneClickRoot

Hey guys, I'm new to all this and I recently found out about rooting phones. So, I found a program called OneClickRoot and just want to ask how safe it is? This is my first time so I need help. Thanks
Nevermind, got an answer lol
Is safe if Carrier out by the dealer, i mean by the owner of the device. For example, HTC has an application "OneClick" thats work very well, just as Samsung has Odin, which can be a "OneClick" to root or ride ROMS
What device do you have? And you are looking for?

Um, actually wanted to root my device (ZTE Blade III) but I already got an answer and it's rooted now
But thanks for reply

[Q] How to root Galaxy S 4G without a PC?

Hello everyone!
As you can tell, I'm new here and was just wondering if it was possible to root the Samsung Galaxy S 4G SGH-T959v without a computer. I found this thread but it was a dead-end.
The reason I want to root without a PC is because my phone's USB port doesn't work. Of course, rooting is not necessary and I might as well just deal with the stock apps and gingerbread, but I'd prefer to have ICS (at least), and Jelly Bean looks awesome so I'm tempted.
I know it's possible to root the Vibrant without a PC, has anyone tried to root this one that way as well? I could try some rooting method for another phone but I'm afraid I might brick it and have to restore using USB port (which doesn't work).
Thanks in advance for any help.

Sorry I can't answer your question but I would suggest going right to Kit Kat once you've rooted it (rather than ICS or JellyBean). This SlimSaber build is working great for me so far, only GPS is not working for some but I think the developer is real close to getting that resolved. KitKat is intended for low-RAM devices such as this one. Good luck!

Its not possible to root this phone without the USB port. Even if it were, recovering from the inevitable first time brick would be impossible.
