I tried using Odin to install a version of 4.1.2 on my s3.. It failed on odin.. I apparently had the wrong file now I cant get into download or recovery mode.. It starts for a second saying loading recovery with the samsung logo then all goes black .. Has some vibrations to it but cant turn in on or connect or even show battery charge on the screen.. Any help to get into any screen would help...
It sounds like a download mode jig should work if you go out and buy one. I'm probably not the 100% best source though.
And that may be a misspell, but there are no 4.1.2 ROMs available to flash in Odin.

Yeah.. It was for a different model.. It failed numerous times.. Then I was able to get into download mode again then was able to turn off my phone and get into my regular firmware.. Tried to install the AOKP file and reboot into CWM but upon turning off my phone I got stuck in this crap...
You can still ODIN Flash but only stock ROMs. Have you tried to see you can get to download mode?

One last thing.. I know I'm wasting your time but I am very sorry.. But when U say it's an international phone.. Is there still a way to get 4.1.2 on my Verizon S3 being that it's a US phone?? And if so please point me to the right tutorial.. I'll be sure to throw in a few more thanks into your rep.. Thanks..

No you will just have to wait for the OTA which will be a while. Scratch that there a few custom ROMS runing 4.1.2 you will have to check the forums for them.
So, the reason for not needing a jtag was that it failed in odin?

I really have no Idea why it decided to let me back into download Mode.. But i"m DL the Verizon firmware right now and gonna reinstall.. 4.1.1. Use my Titanium to hopefully bring back what I can.. if not no big deal at least my phone isn't bricked.. I can get back into my phone now but the recovery mode still won't work.. Hopefully it all comes back after the flash..

As long as he can at least get to download mode his phone can fix it. Odin can also unbrick phones as long as download mode is functioning. Jtag is just unbricking via hardware and it should only be used as a last resort(hard brick). Download jig should only be used if Odin doesn't work. Even samsung has a tutorial on how to unbrick your phone via hardware.

I think you're confused. Flash an international ROM in recovery and see how that turns out (JTAG). So it would stand to reason had the Odin of an international ROM succeeded you would get same results. So then it failing would seem to be why it's only soft bricked.

I had the same problem after reverting to stock. I followed below procedure and am able to upgrade to 2.3.6.
"Use Kies. Open Kies without your phone plugged in. Go to tools, Firmware Upgrade and Initialization, enter your device info (in caps). It will then offer to reload your software. Follow the on screen instructions.
Once you're back on 2.3.5, you can OTA to 2.3.6, if you want."

So yesterday I was running cm9 and I decided to flash a different Rom so I went onto recovery and wipe the phone and then went ahead and flashed
The redemption rom. I went ahead and waited for about 10 minutes to see if it works reboot the samsung logo came on last for like 2 seconds then the screen went blank. So now I into Odin to see if I could flash the Stock image.. when I tried that the first step goes through then I go to the second step and it fails. Here are some pics of my computer and my phone. Please help.

Never ever do that, get your sources from here, you might have repartioned your phone which is not recoverable. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1762709 go here and scroll down to return to stock.
L710 is the model number of the Sprint GSIII. Hopefully you can get it back with section 2 of the link posted above.
If that doesn't work use http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1840030 and it will unbrick your phone.
It looks like your are right ... I wanna thank you for pointing out that I was trying to install the sprint version and not the Verizon version. What relief... Thank you again.

Glad you got it working again. Just so happened to recognize the L710 model number from modifying the build.prop to get Google Wallet working. Always be sure that anything you flash for the Galaxy SIII is for the Verizon specific I535. They all look the same but can put you up #(*%*'s creek if you're not careful. I'd suggest avoiding anything that's not specifically in the Verizon Galaxy SIII sub-forums.

So guessing your phone is back to fully functional again? Good to hear.
The worst has happened and it's all my fault
Having not used my Galaxy Tab for some weeks (I've been using my SGS III) I updated to the latest Brazillian ICS firmware and for a stupid reason did a factory rest which has resulted in me bricking my Tab.
I am now getting a boot loop on the screen that states it's a Galaxy Tab Plus, I can get into download mode but not recovery.
Having read a number of posts of similar problems, have tried flashing a .pit file and firmware but still no joy. It seems that it may have to be a trip to the Samsung Service Centre. Thankfully in download mode it is still showing a stock firmware with a zero counter.
Would be interested for any experiences on people who have had to return it to a service centre and whether I may get any potential problems as it was bought off ebay around 6 months ago and is the P-6200L model.
Any help is appreciated :good:

How can i get rid of the custom Binary thing? I also testing my charge with Skyrocket app and it says slow charge. Its taking forever to charge with ICS. Im thinking I need to Odin to stock again, but dont really know how. Plus I dont want to wait another hour and a half to update ICS thru Kies again. Can i just flash the ICS version thru Odin with the blaze pit? Im hoping that would fix the awful battery life im getting too.

It likely comes from the custom recovery.bin - i.e. CWM recovery. It'll go away if you flash/Odin a stock variant.
