Subway surfer occasionally lags - Samsung Galaxy R i9103

Hi,
I want to know whether anyone of u also face the same problem..
Its not exactly lagging but there are occasional pauses of about half a second where the screen pause and when it resumes, the game moves ahead two to three steps.
Well I am a big fan of the game and my high score currently could have been much higher had such problem not been there :banghead:
Please help

First off, wrong section!
Second, this is a known problem in ICS for almost all Games. Use the search button.
Third, there's already a (possible/probable)solution available. Flash Ardatdat kernel from dev section and use performance governor. Again use search.
Fourth, Ask the Mod to move this thread to Q&A section yourself, before anyone else does.
Thanx!

No need, its done (or will be by the time you read this).
And FYI reporting is disabled within xda app because its not really compatible with the current report system.

Well earlier I had Ardatdat kernel flashed but faced the same issue.
Then I gave my phone for format in the service center and they reset it.
However, will using performance governor make any difference?

Yes buddy, it will. Coz performance Governor runs you phone at highest Clock & gives you better performance. But battery will drain very much

No I have played on s2 and note
The game doesn't pause in note. Sometimes just the frames of the game video becomes noticeable
And in s2, I don't face any problem.
However, s2 has horrible touch sensitivity when compared to our precious sgr

Buddy S2 has problems..
Maybe not of games lagging...
But lags are there in the pinch gestures..
It overheats like anything while multi tasking
And try using SGS2 and SGR side by side...
difference is not even 10%.
I have both..
Same is with the note..
Plus use performance governers in the developer options (i have made a thread of how to run games smoothly without stutters read that..)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2094279
Here you go
Plus if you know how to Flash ardatdat's kernel use it too..
rest here is the thread regarding that
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1983262
And few members faced problems with the superuser after flashing Ardatdats kernel (as ardatdats kernel automatically roots your phone)..
It is recommended that you first root your phone with the latest Superuser/SuperSu and then flash Ardatdat's kernel...

ive been screwing with chainfire 3d trying to get it running better, ive gotten it to be on the verge of playable but it could be better, im gonna tinker with it some more and see what i can come up with. thanks for the info though.

Off you are on a bml ROM (haven't cheeked out bare bonne so i don't know) you can flash lightning zap then adjust the governor settings... There are instructions on how to do so linked in the OP... That should smooth out fps refresh rate...

Each phone is different, tweaks and such that improves your phone performance may not help the next phone. That is also why the game might be unplayable on your device. Also most newer roms have the various tweaks built in. So installing them twice can end up harming your performance.
I was in the same boat as OP. I used Gremlin Remover, and started from scratch, and now I'm getting decent performance from GTA. Still lags some. But not as bad as used to. Definately playable.
It works just fine for my wife.

Game lags corrected. (Atleast have stopped for me)

So yesterday i was researching about gamelags on STOCK ICS.
I found out this solution somewhere.
Initially i did not flash ardatdat's kernel
but
after doing this plus flashing ardatdats kernal lags have like vanished.
So just do this thing
1.Go to settings---> developer options and check 'Force GPU Rendering' and restart your phone.
2. Use Ardatdats kernel v4.2 beta 6 *HIGHLY Recommended*
Games tried :
1. Temple Run Brave (15 minutes of play..No lag)
2. World Cricket Championship (10 over game..no lag)
3. Farming Simulator
4. Plants vs. Zombies
5. Stick Cricket
6. Stick Tennis
7. Temple Run 2
8. Race, Stunt, Fight 2
9. Drag Racing 3D
10. Fruit Ninja
Hope it helps

+1 for this. Didn't try games, but it's good to have this option always set to on. Increases overall performance.
I tried gaming on stock ICS.
Did try unofficial JB on our phone. But then vibration problems.
Actually some nexus version had an ICS lag in scrolling and gaming.
So someone posted it as an answer.
I tried it for gamelags of our device and it worked.
(Obviously the nexus solution did not have include the ardatdats kernel part )
@adam sir: please help us with the vibration problem in Pacrom

On ardatdat kernel use setcpu app to set both the cpu freq's to max(equivalent to performance governor). Then try a game...eg temple run...no lags.
But remember when u select performance then top level of clock will work and hence battery backup goes down.
@deep: buddy its my pleasure if i would suggest or make u understand the thing and become part of ur few moments.

Well if you know how to use SetCpu go ahead it will completely resolve the issue. (Never tried as i am not comfortable..but our senior members do recommend using it )
But if youre still not comfortable with the stutters we have to live with it till official JB arrives (maybe..on samsungs mercy :'( ) :sigh:
Atleast the frequency of the lags seems to go less.
My games even stuttered with PacRom :'( (stick cricket did )

Best kernel for saving battery on 7.0?

I am on cm 10.1 and the battery isn't much different from stock. Also, the tab gets hotter than it did on stock. Any kernel that keeps the device cool and saves battery? I am willing to change ROMs if its CM's fault, but the ROM you suggest should be waaay better to convince me to change ROMs.

not sure whether it's kernel or CM10.1's fault! But i don't like 4.2.x based roms just yet, they're just not stable enough for my liking.

And about other Roms cm10.1 is best one after stock 4.1.2(debloated)
And device getting hot is normal.

2nd core inactive

I just noticed that my second core is inactive on my g2x phone. Does any one know is this normal or my phone is malfunctioned? I downloaded this app name CPU Identifier and it shows my second core is inactive. mostly interactive or ondemand + 2048bit row scheduler or fiops.. with those I experienced the best UX.
for other settings:
e.g. multicore power saving, so not so much cores are used permanently, underclockig (damn be nexus 5 has so much power, u never need it!) maybe overclocking the gpu (ingress is a beast!) also some hotplug controlling, for loadthreshold an so on!

True, you never asked which kernel was best. But questions regarding the kernel settings can be found in the relevant threads, creating a separate thread is pointless, really. The best way to find out is follow the thread, and experiment with the tuneables yourself.

Is that a link for an app or kernel... I'm just confused cuz of the zip file... Also I think I need a new kernel because I don't have all of them options... Even with trickster mod
