Hello all...just got my galaxy note 10.1 and I absolutely love it. I do have a few questions. First to those who use the Barnes & Noble Nook app I noticed that it saves my magazines and books on the device memory but if I move it to the SD card will I still be able to read them from there or do they have to be on the device memory? And my other question is about the SD card and device memory. Why can't I move files between the two like I can on my note 2 phone? It doesn't give me the option to (unless I'm missing something). It seems the only way I can is if I hook up my tablet to my computer and do it that way. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I dont use the Barnes & Noble Nook app so i cant help you would that.. but i would say give it a try and if the app doesn't see the books after u move them replace them back where they original where at.. to move files you will need a file manager.. their should be an app call My files but if you dont see that just get one from the play store...

I like Solid Explorer. It allows lots of options for file handling and can be used in multi-Window mode.

In a file explorer such as astro or even the stock explorer "my files" hold down on the desired file to be moved and select copy and paste it to the external as card. There should also be an option to select multiple files when you hit the menu button.

All my sd card contents disappeared after I flashed kd1 it shows that the memory is still taken up by the files but I can't find them I tried file explorer apps tried plugging the phone into the computer and still can't find them

Try removing the memory card and reading it directly from a computer. If you can see the contents, copy whatever you need out of it. put it back into the phone. Format. reboot and see if the phone reads it right. If it does, drag and drop whatever you backed up

Download photorec.
You can recover your SD card as long as you don't copy anything over to it

Google it, it's a windows/linux/mac program.
just flashed paranoid android 12, while i was doing that i made a backup of my old rom in CWM and it never ended up showing up on my SD card, after flashing my rom i opened up my SD card on my laptop and it seems to be that alot of memory is going to no where.. i highlighted everything in the folder and it says its all about 350mb and all my music is about 300mb. Before i open up the SD card it says that theres 500mb out of 1.8gb free. 1.8gb - 300mb = 1.5gb. Is it the backup that i cant see thats taking up all the memory? if so how would i make it show up? or is it something else?
That is weird normally you should be able to see your backup as a folder. Mine is set under sdcard/clockwordmod/backup and the backup I got is 581mb and is very visible both to es file explorer and to my desktop pc. Something maybe up with your sdcard. I've had invisible files on a knock off 16gb MS Pro that I ordered from china. Fixed it by formatting the memory card a few times with the PC though.

Format the sdcard in fat32. Maybe your sd is 64GB exFat that needs a special kernel support

Thank you for your reply. The volume of my SD card is 16GB in FAT32 format. Mentioned problems may include with the right of permission to beyond read only mode and setting of android system. Because the photo records is taken by internal machine that can be set to store in external SD card. This kinds of problem have already occurred in Samsung several series machine. Meanwhile, this is a complicated problem beyond my limited knowledge. Anyway, thank a lots:laugh:
Root your phone.
Install Folder Mount.
Move everything to SD.

Thank you for reply. I have rooted my machine already and trying this right now. But would like to know that except this method. Any method could save data (i.e. photos, installed app and media) to external SD card freely? Just like using of App 2 SD. And then, any method to get the right of permission to beyond read only mode and setting of android system? I would like to fix this problem completely and let it return to S II mode. Anyway thank you very much
For the moment i don't think there is a way to move apps to SD. Only link 2 sd

Well Folder Mount isn't free.
And Apps to SD didn't work for me. Neither did Link 2 Sd work until I created a partition on my SD card (later I removed the partition as I didn't want to spoil my new card and its performance).
You can install apps on internal and then later on move it freely to SD card. It would move all data folder.
I'm doing this and I have rooted phone with stock rom.

Well tap on the (+) button and you will have a window asking for
1. Folder name to be kept.
2. files to be moved.
3.where the files should be.
Select the following and press mount. It will start moving files and then mount.

try with Gl to SD but need root !!
I also wanted that to be possible a few weeks ago. And it is. But unfortunately you'll have to root your phone. But it's worth it. I rooted my Galaxy sII plus. And I flashed the XXUMBG8 Which is android 4.2.2 jellybean . And it's working better than the stock one. So i recommend you to root it and upgrade your phone a little. Back to thread eeh, the app is called FolderMount and is free on google play. If you need any further help hmu

U could un-compile the app and rewrite the OBB detect code, but that'll require knowledge of Java, so I would recommend rooting. Won't hurt.
Smack that Thanks button if I helped!
