S-Note questions - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I've been wondering how exactly S-note functions when you take a note. What I mean is: Say you're reading a book and you open up S-note, you write down whatever you wanted to notate and move along. Later that day you're reading another textbook and decide to make another note, will this new one be completely independent from the previous one? If you were to open up the first note would it open up the book to the page you were reading when you took the note or would it be something you'd have to keep track of yourself by keeping in mind which book it was you were reading when you made the note in the first place. If you'd have to keep track of it separately is there a way to create a hotlink from any given window to allow you quick access back to what you were referencing?
I hope someone is able to get what I'm trying to ask because I'm struggling with putting it into words.

The new note you created will be independent from the previous one. yes, you have to keep track yourself, you may use the add tag function in snote to help you with this. Snote and your Book reading app are different, you can't link them together.

As already mentioned, Snote is independent from your book reader. You manage notes within the reader. I use Mantano for epub, take notes there. Later I can sort notes by book or by time stamp. Second option will allow to see notes from two different books, as in your example. And notes are linked to the location within the book.

Group Texting

I want to be able to send a text to a group of 7 or 8 people. Can I set something up on Windows Mobile 6 so I don't have to keep adding these people separately?
Try this

Hopefully one of these suggested so far will be just what you were looking for.....failing that, there's always Google
HTH,
Mark.
Has anyone used them? Can anyone recommend one of the others?

Dude, start typing names into the "to" field with the keyboard. Auto-complete pops up the names of your contacts so all you have to do is select them.
People make too big of a deal about this issue, IMO...
But if it's 20 or 30 people and your have to start typing them each time, that's still maybe 3 or 4 minute job. Also, you have to fish out your list each time to check who needs them.
Compared to being able to type 'Football' or something instead. Myself, I would say it's quite a decent time/hassle saver...
The first link I posted above should work well for you; it's "category-centric", so if you create a "Football" contact category you can assign the required contacts to that category. When using the GroupSMS program, it will list the categories you have defined and you can then pick one (or more); then you just enter the message you want to send....job done!
Read the threads, try 'em out.....
Mark.

He is posting under the Question & Answer forum. This means that he can ask questions & waiting for answers .
Of course it is best to use the search button of the forum or google but we can't discourage everyone for asking help.
This is the great thing about xda-developers. That in here there are the best experts & the complete newbies but everyone helps each other.
Don't mean to be rude

Your Wizard is not recommended to take notes with. At least not for me .
I use Word to take some notes but only for basic things.
For class schedule I am using the build in calendar. I have also installed S2U2 & I have enable to it the option to show the appointments. So when my phone wakes up I see my appointments / classes. An alternative is to make an Excel spreadsheet with your classes & store it to your phone.
Can you be more specific about editing Start menu?
i figured out the start menu on my own.
Thank you for your suggestions sam. I have looked before and didnt find what i wanted. But now i did Calendar plus i am going to see that S2U2 you said. I'll post later again. Thank you.

Annotatable form needed

I am looking for a very specific app to assist me with interviews. What I need is an app that can open a Word or Excel style template page. The page will have a list of questions and the space to fill in answers just like any normal paper application form.
Name:.........................................................................
Address :.....................................................................
..................................................................................
..................................................................................
Tel:................................................
Etc.
Now this bit is easy I have seen many app's that can do this, the next is the difficult bit,. I need the app to allow me to use a stylus to handwrite the answers in the fields. It does not need to recognise what I have written just save the page as I have annotated it with the handwritten answers. I can then open the template again and conduct the next interview.
Is there such an app out there? If not would anyone be interested in creating one? If this is a new idea then whoever wants it can use it. Thanks all.
Sounds like a good idea that can easily be accomplished using the Google App Inventor.
If I have a few spare cycles I'll see if I can throw it together.
Nice idea, would be a handy little app for many i'm sure.
Would be nice for it to have a "done and save" button so it auto went to the next form, and have an edit mode to edit the forms themselves (making it applicable for any survey, data collect use).
I'll have a look at the app maker today and see if a noob like me could knock something up (allthough its probably best left to those with experience).
Definately a good idea though ^^
EDIT: Oeer, think i may need to readup on the Appmaker for a week before i start ...Spose have to start somewhere. Consider me outof the dev picture for a mo ...allthough need any art/buttons i can help anytime xD

[Request] Dual PDF Reader / Dual Image Viewer

Does anyone know of a Dual PDF viewer for Honeycomb/Android? I am looking for an app that will allow me to launch up two PDFs side-by-side or let me display two images right next to each other on the same screen. The reason being, I am studying for a test right now and would like a way to open the same PDF but right next to each other. One side will have the problems while the other side will display the answers & explanations. Therefore it will make it a lot easier to see the explanation to the answer without having to memorize what the question was. Often times I will read the answer but will totally forget the question (since I am doing like 10 questions at a time). Hope this is making sense. Please let me know if someone knows of a program like this. Couldn't find anything on the market. Thanks.
Sent from the Asus Transformer
Would love this too. Should really be implemented in a pdf viewer that one can open several pdfs at the same time and then change the size of the windows.
Yea id love to have an app to do that. Is someone into it?
Love to have one to simply my life

Signing PDF's natively?

So, as many of you know, you are supposed to be able to sign PDFs with the note 5. Now, we all know you can get 3rd party apps, but Samsung was supposed to make it easier by integrating it. I googled how to do this, and found nothing. I finally figured it out, but it was my last resort. They actually expect you to import the pdf into the s-note app, sign it, then share the file in order to convert it back into a pdf. This is not at all how it was shown in the Unpacked event where the man went to the 'my files' app, tapped the pdf, signed it, and then tapped save, and proclaimed he was done.
I don't promote my blog. in fact, I just started it for when I google a problem, find no solution, and then find my own. I'll make a blog post so hopefully google will pick it up and other's will be helped. Anyways, I made a blog post detailing above (the unpacked event, vs. the real solution). If this abridged version doesn't make sense hopefully my blog post will make more sense: http://wp.me/p6D4BZ-p
But hopefully I put enough information in this post that you won't have to go to my blog. I don't want to come across as promoting myself.
My questions are along the lines of what do you guy's think? Have you found a better solution? Should we just ignore the whole thing and get 3rd party apps? Was Samsung misleading? Is it a verizon only thing? Etc.
i searched xda and google, I'm surprised no one is talking about it.
Before reading your blog I did as you did in your blog. I never watched the unpacked event so I can't say whether or not it was misleading in this regard.
That aside, I like that we can do it without a 3Rd party app, even if it's with using import/export.

There is a thread in the non-carrier Note 5 General section discussing this. It appears to be yet another item Verizon has not included . That built-in functionality is available on some versions. I just don't understand why carriers remove items like this...it is so frustrating. Someone did say that you can accomplish the task using Hancom Office that is included. I think Adobe Fill and Sign also works.
