Hi,
When i connect my phone by pressing power and volume up, i get into diagnostics mode and the driver comes up Qualcomm MSM Device. I've tried flashing but i feel maybe this is newer and is blocked from loading new firmware.
(flashing using care suite latest version)
Anyone else had issues with this?
I seem to recall the qualcomm bootloader on the lumia 800 was able to flash custom rom, could this be the case on this lumia 802?

Hi all i have some problems during my phone re-flash...
I passed from the qualcomm bootload (cause i mounted a ROM), to the dload one with the hex edit but, after i've done this step, when i tried to reflash my lumia 710 with NCS (to change the bootload into the qualcomm one), NCS recognizes my lumia as a RM-809, but if i open my phone and i pull out the battery, the signature on the back says RM-803...
And there are no qualcomm bootload's roms for the RM-809; but i think that is impossible to flash my phone(wich is a RM-803) as a RM-809.
HOW CAN I SOLVE IT?
Sent from my Lumia 710 using Board Express
I know MTK devices are able to flash using SPFT while completely off, without their batteries. I was trying to fix my uncle's LG that had an issue, but I couldn't as the phone could not boot into recovery, and would not get passed the LG logo. It wouldn't boot into download mode either. Nothing. This made me think. Are MTK devices the only ones that can be flashed/repaired without having to be turned on? I tried to find a way to flash his LG while off but I don't think such a way exists for LG. Which devices other than MTK are capable of this? I find it very useful. It makes them almost invincible.
Hi,
I bought a Huawei Mediapad M3 Lite 10 tablet last week. Its model number is BAH-L09. I am in desperate need of rooting this device. I have searched in google for quite a time. But no success. Please help me get this device rooted. I can provide further details of the tablet if required. Please help...
+1
maybe I will never ever buy Huawei Android devices again. There are no Devs - not even AOSP support.

This is a Qualcomm Nougat device. You can root using Magisk or a custom recovery. I'll be happy to help.
Do you have the firmware for this model? If not search for it and download first

I do not have the firmware, I looked for a full OTA update on MT and everywhere I could think of but I could not find it. Does Magisk require FW as a starting point? I'm not familiar with Magisk but will now look it up...

The reason you'll need the firmware is that you'll need either tock boot.img or recovery.img to root. You obtain them either from the firmware or by dumping your phone's firmware

I ordered an NCKpro box thinking that as advertised I would be able to read the stock firmware from the tablet since it has a QUALCOMM chipset. however after unlocking my device (success), and trying to put it in EDL mode it does not enumerate as a QUALCOMM device, so the NCK module looking for it doesn't work. It seems to enumerate as "android adapter PCUI (COM5)". I have sent multiple messages to the NCK forum but have gotten no response....seems like there is no support from that group and the documentation comes mostly from Hovetec. Amazing that there is no support for the product.
Have you had success trying to read stock ROM off of Huawei with NCK box?

I share your frustration with the limited info and support for the box, that's why we're trying to fill that void with our tutorials and videos.
I've been able to backup Qualcomm using NCK Pro Box as explained at https://forum.hovatek.com/thread-22362.html but not yet tried a Huawei Qualcomm . Ensure to see the video and install drivers as instructed (very important).
In EDL Mode, you should have something like Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 in device manager not android adapter PCUI (COM5) so its either you've not installed drivers correctly or are not in EDL mode.
Yours is MSM8940 , I believe NCK Pro box should support.
How are you booting in EDL? Using button combo or ADB / Fatboot?

Booting in EDL mode using ADB or button presses get me to the same Huawei screen. its orange type that says press the volume up button for 3 seconds to enter recovery mode, otherwise it does a normal boot. When pressing this button it goes into a recovery mode in which I saw in the device manager what I reported previously.... no QUALCOMM. Perhaps this newer tablet has some layer over the base QUALCOMM or it is something new altogether. Oddly the Huawei ultimate module wants to connect in service mode which is set by doing the keypad with the ()()xxx()() code, etc. The Huawei module seems to be able to communicate with the device, but there is no functionality there to download stuff. I can't believe that no one has figured this out or there is no stock images out there for this tablet, but I also found that Huawei pulled all the stock images and updates off the web for their products last September....
I am an expert at installing usb drivers, but perhaps the ones that are in the default enumeration need to be overridden? I tried that but there are 4 different device enumerations of which none are QUALCOMM what was shown in the thread.
Can you think of any other way of getting a stock rom for this?

Check the thread at https://forum.xda-developers.com/general/help/how-to-enter-qualcomm-mmc-storage-diag-t3253478
It talks about other backup options using QFIL (HDDRaw) or emmc raw tool. Also look at the Enter Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 part which talk of entering edl using eMMC software download (QPST) > Switch device to DLoad; or using EFS Pro - Qualcomm NV Tools > Change mode since adb, fastboot and button combo don't work.

Hello, first thing i noticed is that msm tool finished with around 200 sec.i think that's not normal.I often use msm tool and every time finishes around over 300 sec.I see you have correct Qualcomm drivers.i'm not an expert but you must investigate a little bit more.good luck

Drivers are correct and I was flashing it with USB 3.0 port .
I would try older stock ROMs first. O+7pro have plenty of them regarding EDL/MSM mode.
Another thing are checksums. Try to check if your download was successfull by counting them from your side and by comparing what you have with provided download. It should match 1:1.

I have the old stock ROM which I flashed it in EDL but phone didn't boot when it is completed phone reboot too but not in normal mode in EDL again
Most often people have bad experience with qualcomm drivers. So make sure that you have some released after 2020 year, as oneplus 7 pro was released in 2020 year. Another issue is related to usb 3.x, better avoid that and try USB 2.0 instead, most of people have best results with older interface of that kind. EDL is kind of old solution, so better to stay away with USB 3.x and use USB 2.0.
Have you got any idea your flash is successful in edl tool? Have you got clean results or warnings/errors?
To be honest with you, I have to use EDL too, because I did wrong upgrade. I used custom ROM instead of stock ROM. Now I have not access to fastboot nor adb via USB either.
try different EDL ROMs, I found 2 threads. one is here, second there. As almost nobody anserws our questions, I will let you know what I did if I do it successfully.
Well, I discovered that I'm in pretty bad situation. In my case not only adb and fastboot does not works. It appears that EDL does not work either. Why? because I connected another oneplus phone over USB to PC and EDL mode was detected spot on. In case my o+7pro, well still same error as previously with adb/fastboot over USB. Something messed with USB on my phone at software side.
So I have to get motherboard get cheap. I do not thik that I can desolder flash or eMMC and revert that so easy.
Sorry Man, can not help you any
further. Turns out my issue is signifigantly other than yours.
