[Q]What to choose ? - General Questions and Answers

Hello. I wanna buy new telephone , but i can"t choose which phone is better or something else..
I have 3 options here :
1. Samsung Galaxy S2
2. HTC ONE S
3. SONY XPERIA P
I'm looking foward to hearing from youu your opinions and advices
Sorry , for my bad English

If you can unveil the full potential of sgs2, it should be the one most customisable and hackable. However if you intend to follow the warrantied path, choose one s as it features more or less the same specs of s2, and perhaps a little better... The xperia p is not an option if you are not a hardcore xperia fan... Hope this helped...

+1 the Galaxy S2 has really good Dev support,a removable battery, and expandable memory

I think you should go with HTC One S. HTC is launching really awesome smartphone. HTC One S one of best smartphone by HTC because it comes with 4.3 inch screen display, 4.0 android operating system, 8 mega pixel rear camera with auto focus & 1.3 VGA front camera, Dual-core 1.5 GHz processor, 1650 mAh battery capacity. You can read full details here:
http://www.themobileindian.com/handset-guide/details/HTC-One-S

One s has no removables.

Hey don't post one s specs in here...everybody can Google it up...but the s2 is quite good...though the g version does not have much support...

it's ok

I can confirm that the Samsung is probably the easiest to hack, so if you are looking into putting custom roms on it, go for that one.

It's my opinion. s3 a little bit better.

S2 is older, cheaper, but has waaaay more dev support than the other two

My differenciate b/w Optimus one and galaxy Y
..which may b the best one?
Sent from My Optimus one using Popdogz Oxygen aosp ♥
Your current phone has
A larger screen (3.2 inches compared to 3.0)
Better Resolution (320 x 480 compared to 240 x 320)
Better Camera (3.15mega pixels compared to 2.0)
Larger internal storage (170mb compared to 160)
The Samsung has
A Faster processor (832mhz compared to 600)
...erm, that's it
For the price the Samsung is not a bad phone (about $150USD if anyone out there was wondering) but for you it's not worth it for just a faster processor.
Hope that helps
its good

the best one in below 10k is galaxy y
the touchscreen size of the Y at writing messages is for "man hands" really really bad.
i go back to my mini and i'm happy again.
hey can you provide that digital clock widget on galaxy y same as on s2...want it for galaxy fit
If u r not an advanced user then Why don't u go for mmx a70 or mmx a75.
They are good phones

Looking for new phone

Hi,
I'm currently on a Samsung Galaxy S. I really like it, and thanks to all these awesome developers, I even have ICS.
But sometimes it's too slow and it doesn't have enough RAM.
Last week I went to a shop and played with the new Galaxy 3, but it's too big, I can't even dial with one hand, then I tried the iPhone and I liked it, not the OS, the small size and snappy reactions.
So my question is there a new and powerful but small smartphone?
Best with a high resolution display (oled)
Even my current phone is almost to big, but would be okay.
So
3,3inch (iPhone?) - 3,7inch (Galaxy)
Dual core or quad core
1GB ram
16GB memory
High resolution display
ICS and future jelly bean support
Thanks and take care
-Chris

At 4 inches, I can suggest Xperia P...
yeah nexus s is best in performance and you will get an instant update of new android version not like the other who take alot of time to built a official rom

Yes, Galaxy S III is too big.
Galaxy S II is the perfect choice. It is just a little bit bigger than Galaxy S, but is thinner and lighter.
Also it won the contest of the Best Smartphone of 2011 over iPhone 4S.
Accessories, batteries, covers and cases for Galaxy S II are available for a very small prices everywhere.
It is fast and sexy.
The price is the lowest today (1 year after the introducing on Market).
S II is the best price/quality choice.
Well bigger is the problem sometimes I even have problems with the Galaxy 1.
Small hands. Not made for current smartphones
And nothing in the same regions of an iPhone, small size, dual core and high resolution display?
Xperia might be a good choice for you..Small screen and good specs..

But Nexus wins. It doesn't have the Exynos processor, but an HD screen, bigger screen, faster updates, lots of development (S2 does too).
Camera is meh but like I said you have a One X which has one of the best cameras on a smartphone in the market.

The Nexus will be better because you will get your updates much quicker and straight from Google! I'd go with that.
I am a GNex owner and I say that you made a great choise!!!
The speed and the screen are perfect!
I play with it and its Platform since the first day..
I just love it..!
GS2 it is good but it doesn't give you the same feeling as the GNex!

i sign that
I faced the exactly the same question when helping my wife to decide a smartphone. I did a little research on the internet, and here are the reason why I choose SII over Nexus.
1. Super AMOLED vs AMOLED HD
Yes, Nexus as better resolution and higher ppi, but the quality of display, the color saturation on the SII is better than the Nexus when comparing them side by side
2. Corning Gorilla Glass
This is only for the SII, Nexus doesn't have that.
3. CPU + GPU
Galaxy S2 CPU:1.2GHz dual-core ARM Cortex A9 CPU、Samsung Exynos 4210。
Galaxy Nexus CPU:1.2GHz dual-core ARM Cortex A9 CPU、TI OMAP 4460。
Same CPU, but the GPU for SII is slightly better suited for high end graphics
4. Camera
Galaxy S2:8MP rear camper with 1080p HD video、2MP front
Galaxy Nexus:5MP rear camera with 1080p HD video、1.3MP front
So in the end, I choose the SII instead of Galexy Nexus. But please keep in mind, that the difference are minor, so if you have already choose the Nexus, stay with it. Both are excellent benchmark android device. Excellent phones from Samsung.

Which phone should I get?

Well, as the title reads, which phone should I get next? My AT&T contract will be fulfilled in the next couple of months so, I've been looking at available AT&T phones. I currently have an HTC Desire Z and I love the size of it - easy to put in and take out of my jeans pocket. Most of the new phones I see are so big they should come with a back pack for them. Can anyone recommend a late model, fast phone that isn't as huge as the HTC One X and Samsung G3? And, please don't say "Iphone".
No offence but they don't sell those phones without camera anymore welcome to 2012 almost 13 everything is big now TV's cellphones etc

I think ~5" is the perfect size for a smartphone - big enough screen to see things and enjoy it, but small enough to still use effectively with one hand.
Honestly, I remember the first cell-phone I ever used and it was WAY bigger.
If you do want something smaller, though - I don't know, I'd probably look at international phones that would work with ATT, or just go into an ATT store or such and look around. The Galaxy S3 Mini is smaller, but I don't know how well it will work on ATT and what you could expect (it lacks LTE, I've heard). It also depends on the performance you're expecting.
have you considered one of those quality Chinese android handsets ?
things like the Newman N1, GooPhone, ZTE V970 etc ?
I think you should go with Galaxy S3. I am also using this phone last some months it's a superb mobile phone bacase it has 4.8 inch Superb Super AMOLED display with saturated colors and high contrast with 8 megapixel camera with autofocus, flash and HD video recording, 4.0 android operating system, Quad-core 1.4 GHz Processor and 2050 mAh battery capacity. You can read full details here:
themobileindian.com/handset-guide/details/Samsung-Galaxy-SIII
Thanks for all the replies! I do plan to look around the AT&T store but sometimes its a little overwhelming when I start diving into the specs for every phone.
I was not aware of the "quality" made chinese phones; I may look into that.
Thanks again for the help and if there are anymore recommendations please, keep them coming.

Getting my kid a new phone for Christmas (she has my old Droid X). Was contemplating an IPhone, soley because of the incredible speech-to-text features (something my Bionic is woefully poor at) Sales dude at Verizon showed me what a Samsung can do in that realm....was utterly impressed....no diference from the 'Sirry' IPhone thing (apparently it hinges on a google service)
what's your budget? Desire z is mid range so if your budget is about the same then look at Galaxy S2.
Budget will be determined by AT&T having a phone I will settle with on a contract extension so, I guess my budget will be $200~300.
C
Best phone on the market at the minute (*arguably*) is the ASUS Padfone 2.. but sadly it isn't available in the US (no US release date mentioned yet either).. so would probably say the LTE version of the Samsung Galaxy S3 would be a contender..
I'm not really looking at the IPhone 5 but will the IPhone 5 sync with my google contacts and google calendar? That's one thing I really like about the android phones. From my research the iphone 5 can be made to sync with all my google stuff but how effective/accurate is it? Are there any bugs or issues with this?
C
I just took the Huawei U8836d shine and i'm very happy with it. Changed the stock rom to custom and has great battery life than other chinese brands. Great design. gorilla glass and sturdy materials plus very thin and comfortable. Check it out.

Galaxy Ace for your Preffered Size
I would Suggest to go for Samsung Galaxy Ace or You can Opt for Huawei Ascend.
I will suggest you to don't go for small screen size as 2013 will be the Year of Big Screens so if you are willing then go for Note II you will love it and Also will get use to its Big Size.

well I spent a about two hours playing with both phones, both were very good phones, what made
the HTC stand out to me was first pinch and zoom , when i did this on the S4 it would not realign the
words into a single column , which meant i had to scroll side ways on the website while I read a article. I used CNet , Fox news , phonenet , TechRadar to test..
next was the sound ,
For such small speakers , the HTC One put out decent sound, makes it nice if you just want some back ground music
with out having to use the headphones...granted I use it in semi-quite environments ..
The S4 had a plastic feel to it while the HTC one felt really solid, you can twist the S4 where the HTC One you cannot..
I did give the S4 a solid going over, it did have a kinda cool thing where it would follow your eye movement, it work but
but needed improvement... I would have rather seen Samsung spend money on the phone then marketing
like a metal case.. and HTC gives you the tools to unlock the boot.
Depe ds on your preference. One has the stronger body, and S4 has a removable back, which means interchanging batteries, and getting custom designed backs for it. The S4 also has a micro sd (sorry if this was mentioned, for I'm only skimming through), which the One provides more storage for the same price.
The S4 focuses much more on the software features, while the One focuses more on the design of the hardware and software without being too intrusive or overbearing. Sense 5 UI found on the One is pretty sweet and lighter than previous versions of Sense, and also lighter than TouchWiz. TouchWiz is much more fun to explore with the many things that you can do with it.
They both have similar processor, with an exception of the clock speeds (the S4 is 200MHz faster, but the average user - and even some power users - will not tell the difference.
I'm intentionally omitting my preference, for that is irrelevant to your decision. I'm not trying to influence your decision, but provide my unbiased opinions. (Hopefully, no one has enough insight to my decision...)

If you can live with the 4 MP camera of HTC One then go for it. That's the only weak point of One against S4 I believe.
