Trouble rooting Ace 2 (i8160) - signature verification failed with pre-rooted image - General Questions and Answers

Hello guys, here come my first post and cry for help
I need to root badly. I tried using a pre-rooted image on my Samsung Ace 2 i8160 according to this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1881964
I created everything according to the steps listed. I used odin to successfully flash it.
- but then the phone reboots and it then gets to apply the image and it says: E: signature verification failed.
I did flash with orginal firmware without pre-rooting just fine before trying it with the modified image.
I see nobody mentioning this error in the thread. I searched a lot and can't find any solution. Things like cyanogenmod doesn't support this phone so I can't find a way to root it.
Only other way to root was described here: http://markhenderson.ws/phones/how-to-root-samsung-galaxy-ace-2-gt-i8160-i8160.html resulted in - Can't access to '/system/csc/TMS/system/'. - error. I again searched how to fix this but can only find solutions for rooted phones - which mine is not and never was. I cannot change CSC - I have only TMS installed (so no easy way like dialing this special string to choose CSC is possible)
I feel lost and I ran out of things to try. The phone is locked to a carrier I don't use so I can't use the phone with my SIM card now - so obviously it is a big deal for me to get things working.
Any help is much appreciated!
Thanks.

[Q] Rooting Samsung Ace S5830D

Greets
Have tried two methods to root this phone, superoneclick and up_d.zip from the tutorial and both fail.
The specs on the phone are as follows: Model No-S5830D with Gingerbread build number DTLKI4. What is interesting is the Kies tells me that this models firmeware cannot be upgraded with Kies. Phone is distributed in Canada by Koodo not sure if that makes a difference but the build no is different from anything Ive seen on line.
Suggestions, recommendations, reading sources most welcomed.
Best and kind regards

You could try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1282011.
Same error message as with all the other methods I tried so far:
____________________________
"Error in /tmp/sideload/packages.zip
Status 7
Installation Aborted.
---------------------------
What ended up working was this link and file, AceGingerbreadroot.zip from android flip dot com
Best regards

You could paste the link please?
can you please add the file to root the ace S5820D
Rooting the S5830D from Koodo
I've rooted this phone yesterday.
1. Using stock recovery install root zipped file AceGingerRoot.zip (see below)
2. Use BML5 method to find unlock code and use it for unlocking on this stock rom, or use market
Unlock Galaxy Ace app, which is doing the same
3. Install CWM version 4 zipped file ClockWorkModAce.zip (see below)
4. Update to CWM version 5 recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.6-galaxyace-fix.zip (see below)
Now you can install the ROM of your choice on your fully unlocked and rooted Ace.
Don't forget to nandroid all original and other ROMs so you can painlessly use the working configuration
Thank you so much for coming back with your solution pgavril. I had the exact same problem with the same phone from Koodoo and you solution worked flawlessly.
Again to help other people search for this problem find this thread, it was.
Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830D
Koodoo Mobile
Error in /tmp/sideload/packages.zip
Status 7
failing to install CWM recovery
Thanks again for your help pgavril.

I have versions 1 & 3 of towelroot. The first version may work better. Do you have an international sim card or are you still attempting to use the vzw one?
From my Wicked S3 running MIUI

I was able to actually root it with Kingo Root
The only other issue is still getting the message SIM not recorgnized even though the phone, data and text are working on the local network. I have configured the APN to point to the carrier but the message still pops up when i reboot or if my phone is in idle mode

[Completed] Root SG4 ATT (ktu84p.i337ucufnj4) + Install CMod

I read the guide (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2301762), and it says "you may have MF3, which causes problems" , but does not tell you how to check.
I googled my problem and it told me the build number (ktu84p.i337ucufnj4) has that information.
As per the title, I'm just looking to root an ATT Galaxy S4 and install CyanogenMod as simply as possible. I've rooted a copy of the same phone before, so I don't need step by step instructions, just the proper root method and any conflictions with my phone.
Thank you for any assistance!
I promise I've been researching this for days!
I understand now my firmware is NJ4, and found this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...to-root-i337ucufnj4-4-4-4-11-13-2014-t2939553
I'm confused on how to install Cyanogenmod now however. The only supported device/guide that matches mine I can find is here: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_jflteatt
The disclaimers says it will only work on I337UCUAMDB or I337UCUAMDL though. It also says I should use CWM recovery, but another root guide for my device says we can only use safestrap...I'm seriously trying to understand here, can someone give me a hand?

Hi,
The reason you cannot find anything is because it is currently impossible to install CM on NJ4. NJ4 has a locked bootloader and prevents all but stock based ROMs via Safestrap for installation.

[Q] Unable to Root/Recovery on Xperia Z3 Lollipop

Hi All,
Brand new member here thanking you all in advance for any help.
I have the same storage problems that I've seen from many users so I'm trying to save/install apps into my 128gb sd card but I read that it cannot be done without rooting. I have spent the past 48 hours going through a bunch on info I found on XDA forums as well as forums and boards in other places and what I gathered so far is.
1. Rooting is required
2. Rooting cannot be achieved without first installing a custom recovery
3. Custom recovery cannot be achieved without first unlocking the bootloader
After 48 hours of going through everything I could find all I have to show for it is that I managed to unlock the bootloader and wipe my phone clean, but nothing else.
I already have all the ADB files and Fastboot files (downloaded from 2 different sources), I also downloaded the Android SDK, SuperSU file, Giefroot, the Xperia drivers for the computer, and a file called "bootZ3monxtest01.img" but when I try to flash this boot file I get the error "FAILED <remote: image is not a boot image>"
I've seen the various threads on how to root without unlocking the bootloader and also on several programs designed to root with just one click but all of them require me to downgrade the fw which I dont feel confident doing, so I was trying to follow the instructions on this page (techjeep.com/2015/04/19/how-to-root-xperia-z3-running-android-5-0-2-lollipop-23-1-a-0-726/) which seems to allow me to do everything using my current phone setup but I'm stuck because I dont have recovery and the link they provide on this page does not work.
Phone specs as follows:
Sony Xperia Z3
Model: D6653
Android: 5.0.2
Kernel: 3.4.0-perf-g72984dd [email protected] #1
Build: 23.1.A.0.726
USB Debugging: On
Allow mock locations: On
Verify apps over USB: Off
Unknown sources: On
Bootloader: Unlocked
I'd really appreciate the help you guys can give me to sort this out and get the phone up and running again.
Thank you!

Galaxy S6 Secure check fail : (recovery) help, installing TWRP

I have been trying for about a month to root and atleast boot this SM-G920V to a rom I dont even care if it's rooted but anytime i try to follow a youtube video exactly it still ends up failing i have used adb to boot to bootloader then turned off phone booted into download mode to bypass the secure download but it still says SECURE CHECK FAIL : (RECOVERY) I don't quite understand why Verizon just has to be so difficult but this may be a dumb question is there anyway to actually switch the model of this phone without just changing that file that displays it to thus switch it to a root compatible version or will changing that actually make the phone compatible I don't know if anyone has any tips as to booting this verizon galaxy s6 nougat 7 to a custom rom or even rooting though I was told that the verizon models are incompatible for unlocking bootloader but I know theres ways of booting to roms without unlocking bootloader though you need root is there anyone that doesnt need root or unlocking bootloader I have also tryed the old ping pong method and that still failed. please let me know if you have any knowledge of any of this thank you in advance
No way for custom rom.
Flash the latest official, install Package Disabler app and get rid of the bloatware.
Then enjoy the phone.
