Better than being on HSDPA all the time, but sync is by far the worst drainer.

Mine is AMAZING but I'm on 'JellyBam' not just JB so don't know if that is the difference cuz my battery lasts from 7am to 10pmish from texting/calling/internet browsing/downloading games & apps/ plus using Skype during the day as well, maybe try a ROM if your on stock ROM with JB update?

Mines been absolutely amazing. Get 24 hours no problem with heavy use. Today I had over 2 hours of talk time, games, and Internet. Wish I could check on screen time though

Today was the best battery life I've had on jelly. Maybe it just takes sometime for the battery to settle
Sent from my HTC One S using xda premium

Been using jellybean for about a month now. absolutely terrible battery life. i used to get 24 hours on ICS with HSDPA all the time, and i barely manage 12 hours on JB.
Wish there was something that could fix.
I might just have to downgrade back to ICS.

I just put Virtuous Ville 4.1.1 on my phone. Hoping battery life isn't a drastic change. Will give it a few days before commenting.

Just wanted to add.. The jelly bean sense based ROMs just came out.. Remember ICS has been out for a while... When ICS first came out it didn't have the greatest battery either..give it time allow people to figure out what works and what doesn't..it has already changed a lot sense the first virtuous release... We'll get it rite just be patient..

Just to clarify also when I posted this it wasn't directed at devs here. More towards HTC and jellybean. And if I'm lucky batt life is okay for the most part sadly sucks. Guess can't expect much out the small battery this phone has.

I think Google fixed the jellybean battery issues with 4.1.2... Don't know why HTC used 4.1.1 as a base while 4.2 was already out. They gotta hurry up a little...

Its a great phone the screen does take up alot of juice though I get around 2-4 hours of screen on time right now I'm running cyanogenmod 7 alpha 10 (does not have an official build another downer) with Faux's latest 2.9 kernel. cpu clocked at 1700 mhz and gpu clocked above 300 mhz (every once in a while i check out trinity's kernel which also runs smooth too) its running damn smooth there is also alot of ice cream sandwich development but I'm waiting until the get everything working. If you like sense the have that too lol but in my opinion its the best phone right now on t mobile (the samsung galaxy s2 for t mobile has no roms as of right now). Easy to root using www.revolutionary.io you should definatly get it you wont turn back to anything else I'm in love with this phone as you can see

Thanks very much!

What sense????

I'm thinking of going back to sense after an extended period on miui as I'm bored and until the kernal is released ics is not fully functional. Now my question is what from do I choose. There are so many now there's 2.1, 3 or 3.5. Then there's Endymion, coredroid, bindroid and so on.
What I really want to know is what one works flawlessly and is smooth. Any suggestions to help me choose?

Endymion. By far the most stablest ROM.
Sent from my HTC Desire S using Tapatalk
I also vote for endymion, not out of my own experience (I'm a cm freak^^), but because lowveld is a great dev and supporter and many users are happy with it.
But, your best bet would be to try it out yourself, hyperion i.e. is also pretty good sense 3.0 or lbc_mod if you like 2.1 better.
Last but not last coredroid also got many users.

Had endymion on most of the day now and first thing that I've noticed near instantly is the screen burn is far worse than on any other Rom I've used.
This may be due to the general theme being more black on white than others, not sure but it really irritates me.

most stable rom.

hey all, looking to flash the most stable rom for the inspire out there! anyone wanna give me a few good stable roms?
Anything gingerbread is rock solid. ClearDroid and Virtuous Unity are my favorite for Sense and Gingerbeast and Absolution rock if you want to be senseless. The ICS roms are stable enough for daily use but might have small issues that keep them from being the right choice for you. Personally, I love Redemption but there are others that have more active development. I haz not tried jellybean but I would guess that is the same or worse when compared to ICS. You will have to try some out and see what works best for you.

Anything based on stock will be the most stable. 2.47.502.7 and 3.20.502.52. Att just released the last base with sense 3.0. I'm on blackout Ics right now and really am enjoying it. It is sense and Ics. But as always try them out and see what you like. No single rom is for everyone.
The one you find stable when you try them out. Anything else is strictly opinion and these threads are not allowed

Not necessarily, his phone is the same model, but they aren't the same exact device. Also, that isn't necessarily true, at&t's last update was completely broken and unstable. Any rom in the section was made to work with our phone and can run it just as good as an at&t built rom. Most times better.

I agree that 2.47.502.7 was buggy and I did not like it even when devs re cooked it. As for the last update 3.20.502.52 or even the original Rom they ran flawlessly. And to use roms with these bases was really all I was saying to him. Just stick to roms built off of these for the most stable experience. I've spent quite amount of time unrooted and also running every Rom you could possibly flash on this device and when I am on an actual inspire base every part of the phone runs the way it should ( with the exception of 2.47.502.7). I think we agree, I just meant roms based off stock, not necessarily stock itself.
As for what Rom to run that differs all together. I'm on an Ics sense Rom that was never intended for our device but I'm willing to live with a little instability for more options and Ics

Small issue roms = ICS and JellyBean
Is all you need to know. We can use DHD roms on our Inspires if you want to take look at that forum as well.
You will have to test a rom out for yourself cause what may be awesome to one person may be utter crap to others its yp to your preference.

Yes I agree. Gingerbread is most stable. Some dhd base though have minor issues like agps not updating accurately, scanner apps not reading barcodes, battery drain, intermittent WiFi/data issues, Sound problems.. etc. Nothing major though. My favorite dhd base was the sense 3.0 update they got. Runs the smoothest imo. Sense 3.5 and up gets a little clunky.

As stated before, Gingerbread ROMs are generally more stable than ICS ROMs. That said, my favorite is Primo-S v3.5. Its ICS + Sense 4.0A. Its not the most stable mod out there, but extremely stable, enough t be used as a daily driver. The most stable I've tried is of course Cyanogenmod 7. Second is Android Revolution HD.
