[Tutorial][Tipo,Miro][CM10]Apply HDPI themes on MDPI phones - Sony Xperia Miro, Tipo (Dual), J, E

How to make HDPI CM10 themes work on CM10 Tipo and Miro
When you try to change the theme does it give you this message?

If you want to change that you will need:
-Root explorer (you will need to access system folders)
-Root
-Phone
1. Open your file manager
2. Go to /system and look for a file named build.prop
3. Open the the file in a text editor
4. Now search for the line ro.sf.lcd_density=160
5. Change 150 to 160
It should look like this:
6. Save and exit
7. Reboot
8. Apply your selected theme (I would recommend to reboot)
9. Open up again build.prop
10. Change 150 back to 160
11. Save, exit and reboot.

huge thanks!
thanks a lot, solved my problem.
but i have a question: do you need to change that value back to the original or it can stay at 150?

I'm using this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2161111 and tried doing this with es explorer but i'm unable to save the file after editing.
can anyone help?

I knew how to do that in the older es explorer. Now that it has updated to 3.0 I don't know how to do that. I know how to delete system apps but I cant do the other things like this one and make apps system apps. Can you explain it to me?
thanks

the new version of es has a little different setting for that, you should look carefully! to convert user apps into system apps you can use titanium backup app. it has this feature.

[HOW TO] Restore Apps saved by "Titanium backup" when we can't run it

Hi!
Probably, most of you have experienced that Titanium Backup can't be used in some ROMs because of (for example) the incompatibility with ext partitions. That is why I make this mini-guide about how to restore apps (maybe on other ROM) previously saved with Titanium Backup :
What we need
Previously saved apps, on a external SD (Obviously )
ES File explorer (It can be downloaded via PlayStore)
NOTE BEFORE STARTING: You can't restore the data of the app, only the app (apk).
Let's start:
1- Enter on /sdcard/TitaniumBackup/ and search the app you wanna restore:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
2- Let's asume that we want install "Flash Player" (for example). When we find it, we can see that there are three files with (moreless) the same name:
3- The only file we need is wich one that has the ".apk.gz" extension (normally it appears like the 3rd), ensure by long pressing it and then entering in "properties":
4- Once we have our desired file, we press on it and we will enter on the ".apk.gz" file. Then, press again and we will get the installation screen:
Ta-da! Magic!
Hope that this mini-guide helped you and of course, you liked it.
Thanks for the info man! I was using CM7 but it had not full superuser and ext support, so i couldn't work properly with it... Now I can install my saved apps.
Regards.
Big help, a massive thank you.
Obviously this would take forever, but thanks!
Thanks for the info but it's not working for me. I tried this using ES file explorer. I located the file alright, but when I tried installing it, it said install failed.
DId I miss something? or is there something wrong with the file?
Again thanks for the info.
neat but one question
Hey man i find your idea cool, but however that does not recover lost data, or am i doing something wrong?
Sorry for the necro, but this thread really helped me so I thought I'd chime in.

My Titanium Backup kept crashing everytime I tried to restore an app. I fixed this by following this guide and then going to the Titanium Backup to restore data. Once you installed the app with this guide the app shows up in Titanium under backed up apps. Then just click the app and ONLY restore data. No crashes and you get your data back!

First thing first, we can't get exact iOS emojis on our phones (by this I mean with colour and the style).
Step 1) Make sure that your phone is rooted.
Step 2) When your phone is rooted download a root browser. You can find a free one in the play store.
Step 3) Download this file to your computer http://www.mediafire.com/download/jnccdh5djct7fwx/DroidSansFallback.ttf
Step 4) Copy that file to your phones memory.
Step 5) Open the root browser on your phone and locate the file. The usual directory is /sdcard for internal memory and /ext_card for an SD card.
Step 6) Move the file from wherever it is to /system/fonts
Step 7) When it has been moved reboot your phone.

Best you can do without rooting is using that keyboard. Can I just ask why you don't wish to root? I'm curious.

Hello Everyone,
this is not my work, i just tried it on my phone and it does work!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/crossdevice-dev/sony/app-z3-keyboard-t2868406
if you have previous version of the keyboard installed, please make sure to delete app data from settings->apps->xperia keyboard after flashing (or manually installing) it.
the walkman app provided in the same thread doesn't work.
happy typing!

Yeah, I know but why should I, if I've been using this for ages now and I like the look and the features? And honestly I don't want any more fancier features for a keyboard.
Can you explain step by step how you did it ?
And how did you get the android l statusbar icons?

Sure, for the icons I downloaded and installed
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/themes-apps/mod-gwbt-theme-g3-tweaksbox-themes-t2852754
you must have G3 Tweaksbox installed to use the theme.
To install the keyboard, downloaded the Zip file
http://forum.xda-developers.com/crossdevice-dev/sony-themes-apps/app-z3-keyboard-t2868406
Extract the lib and app folders. Using Root Explorer insert the contents of the lib folder into the /system/lib directory and changed the permissions to rw-r-r- to the file. Do the same for the contents of the app folder and also change the permissions to rw-r-r- to every file. Once completed reboot, it should say "updating" for 1 app. Once you are loaded up open the keyboard settings and download the language pack of your choice. Any questions let me know.

Need To Find A Specific Command

I can't for the life of me mount my system as r/w, but I remember a reboot command that worked like a charm.
It was something along the lines of reboot wvscmmd. If anyone can reply with the command, it'd be much appreciated!

I have done. ES File Explorer reports /system as busy, and Root Explorer does nothing.
Do other root apps work? Certain you are rooted?
Root Explorer has an R/W button at the top of the directory window you need to press to enable write support
ES File Explorer has a toggle switch in the left panel tools section to enable root access

Other root apps do indeed work, I have Lucky Patcher, Magisk, and Xposed installed.
The R/W button on Root Explorer does not show, and I can toggle root explorer in ES File Explorer, and mounting /system as R/W through it says it is in use.

Have you disabled apps / bloatware?
Maybe you need to start fresh, either unfreeze everything, or reset

Every time I flash a ROM, I back up what I need, then wipe everything. So it's a clean install. There's no bloatware on the device, and the issue carries over multiple flashes.
I do know it can be fixed by the reboot code I mentioned, but I can't remember it.
