I had the Rezound for about a year and finally could not take the battery life. I guess I'm a heavy user as I would get maybe 6-8 hours. I picked up a RAZR Maxx about a week ago and obviously the battery life is way better. I'm getting 1-1.5 days.
I'm considering switching to the S3 but want to have an idea of battery life as this is a top priority for me. I'm assuming it somewhere in between the Rezound and RM.
Any real world experience with all 3 devices?

My wife has the Maxx and I have the 32 gig sgs 3. Now we both live in an area with crappy reception, she gets maybe five more hours than I do. My sgs 3 is stock rooted, unlocked and I can get a full day use out of it with moderate use. The sgs3 is better than the rezound for batt life, but neither will compete with the battery life of the maxx. For technology and features the sgs3 is the best of the three hands down.

If battery life is all you care about this phone is not for you.
I'd wait on the razor maxx there's a new version coming out really soon.

Battery is #1 but not the only thing. The speaker on my Maxx sucks, and reception is worse than the Rezound (Rezound was very good with reception).
So I would say my properties are :
1) battery
2) reception
3) sound (speaker and headset)
4) system performance

Fwiw, I live in a 4G area with pretty good reception. My Rezound picked up 4G pretty well in the house. My Maxx usually is on 3g.

If batterylife is a big deal you could always get a extended battery (i think they have 3rd party nfc ones now) or buy the Samsung dock that come with a secondary battery and a spot to charge it.
the battery life is fine for most. i get 10-12 hrs of heavy useage(6-7hrs screen on). 20-26hrs light/ moderate useage(2.5-4hrs screen on)
im normally see -90/ -107db signal range on LTE

With standard battery? That's pretty good IMO.
Are there good extended batteries that only add a reasonable amount of bulk? The Rezound extended battery is MASSIVE. So big I couldn't use it.

yes stock battery...also i use dark themes and wall papers, minimal widgets, no overclock, disabled most apps on start up, heavily debloated. little things like these make a huge difference.
Today I went 14 hours unplugged all on 4G with 2 hours on screen time and was at 50% battery. That is pretty awesome for a device like this if you ask me.
Someone needs to tell me how to get this battery life. Lol
Ya, I am in the same boat. Stock, with only rooting and unlocking, I am not getting anywhere near the times these guys are getting. I turned on all the battery saving tricks I could find, no dice!
I turned on the battery percentage thing next to the meter, and simple web browsing was destroying my battery in real time, to where I could see a 10% drop in about 15-20 min. Unacceptable, to the point I think I am going to try to exchange the phone this weekend. Luckily I carry an external battery pack so I am good... for now. LOL!
Man, sounds like times are all over the place. Doesn't really surprise me though since radio reception, user installed apps, and other things can have a huge impact.
I got a great deal switching from Rezound to Maxx (basically an even swap once I sold my accessories on ebay). Now I have a guy wanting to trade me his almost new s3 for my Maxx + $80. I don't think I can wrong with that deal.

I actually went from the maxx to this myself a couple weeks ago and couldn't be happier! Battery life isn't as good of course, but is still great. Root it and get a custom kernel on it ( something the RAZR can't do) and you'll be pleasantly surprised.

I am in a good 4G area all throughout the day. I do not turn any data or syncing off. I have it all on including GPS. I turn off wifi when I leave my house and I do not use Bluetooth. I have my backlight set on auto. In the 2 hours of my device use I woud say 1.5 hour of that was web surfing. I use the stock browser.
What I do turn off is all the motion options as well as the screens smart stay feature. To me, this has to be using some battery. How much I do not know but it is not anything I really need.
Besides that I do absolutely nothing special to the device and have no battery saving crap which usually uses more battery then saves it. lol
Also, if you are using 10% battery in 20 minutes you should see at least 3.5 hours of on screen time at the end of the day so I would not say that is bad. Now the question is are you in a good signal area? Are you on 4G or 3G? Do you have all the motion tweaks on or off? I do not think it is an issue with your device and exchanging it will probably not yield different results.
S3 battery is pretty dam good if you ask me

The way I use my phone(I am constantly streaming iheart radio, sirius online or SlingBox), I could never make it through a long work day with any phone stock battery except of course the RAZR MAXX. I had an extended battery on my Rezound.
I condidered the MAXX, but every time I look at the screen on a MAXX (my son bought one), I want to punch a baby.
I now use my G3 with the 4000+ Hyperion battery which is impossible to kill. I leave my screen timeout set to 'never turn off' as I have never even come close to killing the battery with the setup in my sig. That battery lasted for a week and a half when I put it in airplane mode for most of a trip out of the country lately.
Sure, it makes it heavier but I actually like that. It gives me a better grip on the phone especially with the matching Hyperion tpu case.
Go for the S3, Razrs are trash.

There is much more about this phone that pissed me off, but it was all over the place and needed to be "nuked" every month or 2 weeks. The softwere made me want to take a ak-47 to "test" the "cool" back to see if it can take a 7.62mm round to the "face". LOL
Verizon did make it right, but it took alot of push and fact checking to get them to swap phones. (Droid RAZR to S3)
Im switching from a verizon galaxy s3 to the droid razr maxx hd. I can't seem to even make it half a day without my battery dying and the 3300 mAh battery on the maxx looks very attractive along with the onscreen buttons and industrial design. Currently the only negatives i have been able to find are less RAM and the camera but i don't really take many pictures. I just need to know what others that may have this device have to say about it. And are all of the ROMs that are made for the razr hd compatible with the maxx version of the device.
Thank you
Yes. The only differences between the RAZR HD and MAXX HD are battery size and internal storage. They both run the exact same hardware and software.

I am loving my MAXX HD. I have not had any issues with it. After a 12hr day at work, I get home usually with about 50% battery life.

yes thats definitely what i need! how is the 1 gb of ram on there? im going to be sacrificing a gig for better battery life but honestly it seems worth it. My s3 dies in about 12 hours of moderate usage with power saver on.
you won't notice the difference in ram unless u run 15+ apps in the background at a time. The UI speed on the razr is way faster, like loading the dialer, inbox, etc. Battery life will easily last 1-2 days, charge every night and it will never die on u
what has better battery life?
the droid razr HD
or
the droid razr maxx (original)
the reason im asking is because the razr hd is running a newer processor which is better for power consumption, where the maxx is running a less efficient processor.
the razr hd battery is 2500 mah
and the razr maxx is 3300 mah
now would the newer processor make that much of a difference on battery life?
there is a poll up top, vote for device with best battery life please.
and I will give thanks to detailed comments!
Cnet did a test, the Razr Maxx HD has 30 min less battery life then the original maxx. Soo Razr HD vs Og maxx, maxx will win night and day. Get the maxx HD its the best of the options. Heres a list of reviews about the various razr series devices available recently or currently. All include battery testing times.

I'm finally confident that my Droid Maxx battery life is not on par with the other users here and various other forums. I've owned the Razr Maxx, Maxx HD and finally this Droid Maxx, and I'm contemplating going back to the Maxx HD. The only reason I have the phone is for battery, and in the past, I could go a full day and not hit 50%. These days, I'm at 30-40% on a minimal use, non work day. That's not the battery life I've come to expect, nor is it the battery life I intended when I paid full on-contract price!
I wanted to put this out there in case others had concern over their battery life, and have done factory resets, etc. You're not alone! :fingers-crossed:

In the battery stats; what is sucking most of the battery for you?
I get 30-40% after extremely heavy use for 12 hours. That's watching 2 movies 3-4 hours surfing internet email 1-2 hrs. of gaming. with wifi sync and gps on the whole time. So i would say you have something sucking your battery.
I bet they accidentally put the ultra battery in your maxx

I used to own a Droid RAZR M and currently own a Droid 4. I love the keyboard but I want something that doesn't have a carrier logo (I currently live in Australia, there is no Verizon here) and lacks physical keys (I use Sailfish OS)
I was wondering, how does the Photon Q compare to the RAZR M and Droid 4 in terms of battery life? It looks as if they just gutted a RAZR M and put it in a revamped Droid 4, which sounds perfect to me accept that the battery is only 1775mAh or around that as compared to the RAZR M's 2100mAh. I am not too worried about battery lasting me the day, I was at ~50-70% at the end of a long day of cavestory and web browsing on my RAZR M with Sailfish OS, and my Droid 4 gets down to about 30-40% (but I blame alien dalvik leaching the battery) I was just curious to hear from people who have owned a Photon Q and a RAZR M and/or Droid 4.
EDIT: I have owned all three of these Phones, and here is my ranking of Battery Life:
RAZR M - 1st
Photon Q - 2nd
Droid 4 -3rd
Photon Q is meh on android, AMAZING on Sailfish OS (as with most devices). CM11 and CM10.1 are the only ones I have used so far on Photon Q, I plan on trying out CM12.1 and LOS 13 soon. Definitely Not 14.1 because I remember the battery life on that being pretty bad on RAZR M.
