Due to my inability to avoid running into problems with the USB charging board outlined in this bug report I'm am migrating from the Galaxy Nexus to the Galaxy S3. I really don't care for touchwiz and would like suggestions on AOSP roms. I have read several threads by the rom developers, but am not sure what people have gotten the best mileage using as daily drivers.
My needs are fairly strait forward, no major show stopping bugs (Random Reboots/Lockups, 4G, Bluetooth, GPS work correctly), reasonable battery life and stock android. I would like to stay with Jellybean, but have no need to use the latest versions available.
Can anyone recommend an AOSP Rom which fits this?
Thank you!

My girlfriend just got a galaxy s3 coming from a nexus.I keep her up to date with rooting and romming. I currently have my friend on aokp for his at&t gs3. But what is the most stable option for her Verizon gs3 as of now? I have been looking through comments and seen lots of different responses. She definitely wants aosp instead of ****wiz. Maybe even a themed touchwiz rom if no aosp are that stable. Any input would GREATLy be appreciated. Thanks

I've seen people post about not having mms, data drops, nfc not working. I was just curious. I thought general section was for post like these?

Q and A is for questions AFAIK. I can dig being curious but there's been like three of this same topic within a few days. Same people will pop in saying synergy, aokp like in the other threads.

Look at my signature , Its like stock JB with Tablet mode option and is the some stable JB rom ive seen so far.
If stability is top on he priority list I would recommend not using an AOSP rom. However, do this:
1) Apex launcher w/ Jellybean Icon theme
2) Holo Locker (Jellybean lockscreen for ICS)
3) Replace touchwiz mms w/ AOSP mms apk
I am currently using ShoStock 1.3. Has anyone compared ShoStock to CleanROM? I am new to the Glaxy S4 and have ShoStock working well, I am just wondering what the difference between the two ROMs are...

Comparisons are not allowed on XDA. You will have to read the features of each in their respective OPs to see how they compare. Most Devs do a really great job of detailing features and if you read through each thread you will find advantages and disadvantages as well as any things that need fixed. Good luck.
You can say, whats the difference and it would fly, but as scott says above, no vs stuff period. if you want to continue, change your title and edit your post...quick I might add...good luck.
Its subjective like most things in life.
You need to try both of Roms to see which one you like the most.

If you like shostock then stick with it. It obviously has some features that are important to you. Scott always does a great job on his cleanrom for any device. I haven't tried it on the s4 yet. I can't seem to leave mint jelly at the moment.

Versus threads are not allowed on XDA as they always lead to drama. The information you seek can easily be found by reading the two ROM threads. Members are expected to do the research. This is NOT a support site, it is a development site.

I am running a touchwiz rom now because of the reason that I have a fit bit one health tracker (you know, the latest tech fad these days, wearable tech and whatnot) and that is the only way of syncing it because Samsung gave their rom the Bluetooth low energy profile which allows the fit bit to sync. Is that a kernel or modem software modification and of its either is there a way for me to get that Bluetooth software onto an aosp rom?

I'm trying to get opinions on different kernels that optimize both battery life and performance. I'm currently on Liquid Smooth v2.9. Any input is greatly appreciated.

Wrong section and there is no best kernel just keep trying them out and stick to one you like and works best for you.
I think there could be a best kernel depending on what you want out of it. I find the most reliable to be ktoonz. I love the accompanying app as well, especially with the tweak thread that you can preload settings optimized by other users for battery or performance.

And as stated, no such thing as a best anything, everyone has a different setup/signal/use/opinion
Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places, but it doesn't appear that aokp is very popular amongst galaxy s3 users.
I see a lot of Roms, carbon, bonestock, hyper drive, MIUI, cm, etc. Aosp and touch wiz.
However, I don't see many people talking about and using aokp.
Am I missing something, or is aokp not that good on the galaxy s3, not as supported, etc?
Thanks!

Thanks, I'm gonna look there. I was confused about why there were virtually no forum posts about that Rom.
You like it? You like it better than cm, paranoid android?

I definitely like it better than cm. Not a huge fan of cm, too few customization options IMO, same with PA. Although, I do like pacman ROM.

Cool. I will check out pacman.
On rootzwiki, is there a specific thread for the Verizon aokp ROM? I can't seem to find it.
I am definitely intrigued about pacman. I guess you prefer aosp to touchwiz? I can't stand the look of touchwiz, but my bonestock ROM was working pretty great with good battery life. I don't know if with so many features with the pacman ROM, performance or battery will suffer. I will read up on it.
I am on an unofficial miui for now.

Not sure if the features would hinder performance or not to be honest lol. If you go on RootzWiki, forums, team forums, AOKP, you'll see d2vzw and that's us. I'm on the latest nightly I think but I'm about to check out pacman, but I'm kinda waiting for some more of the 4.3 issues to get worked out.
And yes, I very much prefer it to touchwiz. I kinda decided on the phone by AOKP's presence actually, and then Andy got it and made bonestock and I was sold lol.
