Firefox Nightly for RAZR i - RAZR i Themes and Apps

I found this gem over at the Android-x86 project site and its running amazingly on my RAZR i. Thought I'd share.
Not my work obviously.

Lol, i have been using it for like 3 weeks and never thought of sharing it.
Shame on me

I'm not using it for weeks too and even though it's good it's not as good as opera mobile x86 version(which only flaw is the usual opera long starting time) e. G. Blurred text from time to time and not as smooth.
It's also missing a full screen option so it's just chrome but worse since chrome is awesome too.
My main browser ist stock since it's fast and second to opera Smooth and has the nice status bar going away feature.
Thumbs up for Firefox nightly for improving every couple of days but it's not there yet.

Matt, so we download the whole distro, then go to the folder you specified?
Thanks.
Edit: nevermind. Opened link on tablet and found the folder.
Thanks again.

Regarding Facebook in mobile version: I don't know what browser you're using, but I'm using Dolphin, and I had to go into Settings and change User Agent to Desktop.

Agree, project butter is by far the best thing about JB! You can really tell the difference when sliding between home screens and even though it's not the end of the world if there's a microsecond delay I'm kind of allergic to lag.
Then new SNote however, is something that makes the upgrade not as much now brainer as it should be because it's kind of worthless (as I have started a thread about in the app's section here) so if note taking by SNote is a big deal for you I suggest you wait until they got that sorted out.

Also not impressed with JB. Out of box JB on my Note 2 is much better.
Of course that this updated brought much needed features, like Project Butter and performance enhancements that Jelly Bean 4.1 introduces over ICS. The Premium Suite is worth as well, the hover function and the multi-window updates were a nice addition to my (our) already awesome Note 10.1
If you didn't notice much difference with Project Butter, that means that in 4.0, this tablet was already a beast. So why complain (kind of), it's more stuff for free, and it makes a device even more complete/bug-free.

[Q] Pinch to zoom with the keydock

Using the keydock, is there a way to use the touchpad for pinch to zoom functionality? I find it kind of cumbersome to have to do that on the pad screen itself when all the typing is done on the keydock.

Well, following your hint, I tried all Ctrl+<keys> ... and discovered a lot of intersting stuff Unfortunately the "pinch to zoom" thing was not among them.

You can find an entire guide somewhere on the Internet with all the shortcuts.
Believe me; they're handy to memorise.
I just checked and I don't know where you want to use that zoom feature, but it works for me in the browser, where I use zooming the most.

Ok, will try to find it ... I was trying the browser, but now that we speak of it, using Chrome browser. Will check with the stock browser. As you said, mostly need it for the browser, but also for maps. Sounds like the shortcuts are app dependent. Thanks!
In asus customised settings change the mouse to gesture mode. You should have pinch gestures available on the touch pad that way

Oh wow Thanks for pointing that out! ... tried in Maps and Browser, and this works like a charm! I have to get accustomed to the strange cursor shape though
On a lighter note, is there a common sense here of somehow flagging a question as answered?

Good question
I don't think that there is something like that
What always annoyed me about the gesture mode is the scrolling itself, because it recognises zooming a bit too quickly, even when just scrolling.

[Q] goggle chrome beta add to homescreen

This morning I have noticed on my s4 and n7 the menu option for add to home screen has disappeared from both devices.
Why would this be? I loved this feature.
Version 31.0.1650.60 on both devices.
The option has completely gone.
Any help?
Any idea why add to home screen has disappeared?
When I press on pages I have already saved it says "app is not installed"

Google / Chrome devs acknowledge this, and say the feature will be back. Really annoying, as we factored it into a solution - i.e., build a proof of concept as a web app, and run it in fullscreen app mode on the phone and tablets. Incredibly disappointing that they handled it this way. There's also an experimental flag you can set to supposedly re-enable it (type Chrome://flags in URL bar, and scroll down till you see the option to enable it). Seems to work on ICS, but not on JB or KK (at least on my devices). Horribly disappointed.

Thanks for the help, but no success.. This was one of my most anticipated features going into release. Especially because of the fullscreen mode... Where am I left with this? Removing GEL? Will this be available again sooner rather than later?
Thanks.

Wish I knew. It was a mistake relying on a beta feature, but this was so good that we already adopted it for use in a product mockup / wireframe demo. Looked perfect on Android phones and tablets in Chrome...A real web app. Now...not so much.

[App][4.0+]XDA Portal

Hi everyone, this is my first "hello world" app on the play store. I know there is another app similar to this, but I just wanted to learn how to code so here it is .
XDA Portal is an extremely light-weight, unofficial app designed to let you quickly glance over the first new articles featured on the XDA portal.
Features:
Extremely light-weight and fast
Elegant cards ui
light on memory
Application is still in beta, so there may be occasional bugs. Again, this is unofficial.
Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=app.sunstreak.xda
v2: Ability to open page in browser so you can access all the links!
What do you all think?
Looks good. Force closed after it finished loading on first try, then worked good. Needs a tablet layout, though

No. It forced close before showing any content, when it was still showing the "Loading goodies" message. If I have it again, I'm going to send feedback through the Android feedback thingy.
If you want anyone to test the Tablet layout, let me know (Tablet Z, 10.1 inch, 1920x1200 here)

Just downloaded it and works great for me on my SGS3 with no force closes.
One little thing regarding the visual look of the UI though. The contrast between the background and the cards should be increased slightly because it's difficult to tell where one card ends & the next one begins.
Other than that, looks great & works great! Nice job!
Sent from my Xposed CM11 SGS3 on Virgin Mobile
Works great on a N5. One tip though...make the font size for the title and the body have more of a difference. The title and body fonts aren't really easily distinguishable. Another tip would be to make the background a light gray instead of pure white so the cards don't blend in as much. (Or just use holo dark as the theme).
First of all, great.
Second: Please parse the content for links. The portal is all about linking to other content.
Keep up the good work.
Subscribed, I tend to browse the portal allot. This may just be my app for that, instead of opening tapatalk, then browsing through the list of forums, then loading, then sliding out and selecting portal and then waiting.
Super light weight, and simple. Love the UI its clean and neat, haven't experienced any problems what so ever on my Nexus 5, really good creation for you first app!
Keep the updates and new features coming.

using a samsung S3, works great, fast, stable and sharp, now there are lot of things you can implement in the visual area, like choosing three different fonts, sizes.
In some cases, once you open an article, you can see there´s more space between the image and the main title in some articles, that´s all for now.
Keep up with this fine work !!! :good:
good work,keep it up!!!!!
Can you add Android 2.3 support? Seems interesting. :good:
nothing when settings tab is pressed!!!
minimal & fast... keep it up!
Hope You will add a switcher, in Settings, between dark and light (i use trds roms), and the a ability to load also older stories, or a cut-off number selection to choose how many entries one wanna load
@sunstreak
good job, thanks :good:
first thing I've noticed that settings on menu doesn't do anything, if you didn't added it eclipse automatically add menu item called "settings" so I suggest to remove it.
another little problem maybe cuz of the small screen is that there's a large empty space like this image:
Amazingly smooth man, i'm keeping it.
Thanks for all the feedback! V1.1 should be up soon with ability to open link in the browser and removed settings button.
this is good stuff man downloading as we speak

Dolphin V11 downgrade

Dolphin Browser V11
I've used this for years as it was the only browser design which understood the notion that the only thing in a browser you need quick access to is your bookmarks and the easier and faster you can get there the better. Dolphin was the only browser where you could do a quick lazy swipe to view all your bookmarks, and swipe back quickly if you'd changed your mind. They've also remove right swipe to get easy access to pluggins.
No, I hear you say, this must be a joke, surely they wouldn't the only option which set themselves apart from all other browsers, possibly the best feature of any browser out there?
add your thoughts to this:
https://www.facebook.com/DolphinFans/posts/661023360617620
Yup, they've employed Steve Balmer...
I got V10.3 from http://www.androiddrawer.com/, not sure if that was the last version before 11, but it is good enough for now. Word to the wise, export your bookmarks BEFORE you uninstall V11. If anyone has a version history of Dolphin for Android, or a higher numbered version 10 Dolphin browser for Android, speak up. Reminds me of how Opera ruined their Mini browser years ago when they went from V4 to V5 and adopted a "unity" (barf) type gui..... tears of sadness...
best i could find was 10.2x - still looking.
http://dl.game-keren.com/march_2014/Dolphin Browser v10.2.8.apk
EDIT: Found it now same place you did.
Agree. V11 is a usability downgrade.
The quick left swipe for bookmarks was the selling point for me. This feature is very helpful for more recent mobiles with big screen.. now they made it into 2 steps which kinda kill the point.
The floating 'circle' for menus..that I hated as well as I often accidentally touch it..but I could still live with that. Now they removed the left-swipe bookmarks. OK ..Chrome it is for now unfortunately!
swipe
Definitely want to see both left and right swipe functions reinstated
agree with OP quick access has gone

I may be alone in this, but the only reason I want to downgrade was because of how you type in URLs now. With V10 you could type at full speed and hit enter, but now you have to carefully do one letter at a time and trying to type at full speed is a waste of time. Switched to Chrome and after messing with a few hidden settings, it's now as fast, if not faster than Dolphin ever was.
I agree with you the new broswer got messed up. For some reason the dev did update which no one like it and made it complicated hopefully we will get more update soon
sent from s4
just found out you can jump straight to your bookmarks by clicking on the URL bar, isnt as elegant as a swipe but is you have invested in Dolphin and done want to move to another browser its a decent enough workaround. Still no easy access to addons I can see though. Numpty Developers should be sacked !
hopefully if enough of us hammer this they change it back.
https://www.facebook.com/DolphinFans/posts/661023360617620
V11 is such a downgrade.
What I liked about the old bookmark bar was it let you get there without having to look. Now you have to look and aim for the specific location to get to bookmark.
Left & right side bars, shiny shake, desktop toggle, and gesture button at corner were all I needed. Now they've made each and every one of them worse. I can't believe their designers didn't even realize what made their browser special...
U know thats what I was thinking atleast they should have read comments. But must admit dolphin browser is one of the best browser just not the v11. Hope we will get all this back on next version
