Is is it just me???! [BeastyLeo latest rom]

Hi BeastyLeo,
I just flashed the latest release and i'm having lots of trouble The rom looks great and i so badly want to use it, but dont knw if i'm jinxed or something :-/ Please help me!!!!
1. The incoming phone call graphics is all messed up. The caller's picture and the caller info gets rendered 20-30 pixels below the top of the notification box and the bottom section gets cut off...
2. All the applications running started to behave crazy after a while. WpTask was active, and this is what happened - The task icons used to appear on the top bar (for example Activesync's icon), but the text used to be missing. When i brought up the context menu by clicking and holding the task, the rollout menu didnt list the name of the task again! I had options like Close, Terminate (with no Task names next to it like it would normally appear), and I couldnt kill the tasks at all! Even after i went into default memory manager of wm6, i still couldnt end the tasks. Only option was a reset....
3. The back button in the phone app comes with the sound, and now that slows it down for some reason

Did you install the ROM with default options, or did you change anything?

Thanks for your quick response!
I didnt do anything with the rom before flashing. The only thing though, was i didnt flash the radio file as i have 1.15 and i find it stable. The Tasks problem keeps happening, i had to roll back now to one of your earlier versions which works fine though....

If it's that bad I will try to do a bug release in a view days.
My harddisk of my laptop crashed and currently I'm trying to recover the data first. I feel sorry for you and I hope I can fix it asap.
-I noticed a view things with initflashfiles.dat after I decompiled our own ROM.
-Also PocketCM I'm not realy happy with, I think I'm going to take that out.
-Office I changed for our previous one.
Well... I'm looking into it.

Hi, i have the same problem in phone operation so that i have to use another one. One thing still in dark: when finished uprom progress, i check phone with my Exec close position but it was hanged the screen very dark, have to SR the PDA again working. I don't understand why.

Hope this is in the right place
I have just rooted my magic with the latest cyanogen ROM. It was a lot harder than I thought it would be for a first timer. I think the problem was that there are so many guides out there and trying to find one that works for you was the difficult part (I had to to use relentless guide to revert my phone to Cupcake but then another guide (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=579328) to flash the ROM)
Now my phone is rooted can it still be 'bricked'?
Why do you do a flash first - what does this do?
Does multi touch only work with the browser?
I partitioned my SD card - are all my apps now installed to there by default? Is there a way to check?
Can I stop the home screen auto rotating (I still want other things on the phone to auto rotate)
Can I disable the work email or set it to only download when I am on WiFi?
When I select a ringtone for my alarm it now displays all the default tones that come with the audio.zip but I only want it to pickup my music like it does when I select the music app. I guess this is to do with my folder structure?
Would you recommend that I try and flash CursorSense as I have heard it is the best but am worried I may struggle - maybe I was just having an off day when I rooted my phone
Sorry for all the questions!
Oh and thanks for this fourm - my phone runs so much better already and I have only tried one ROM - I have only noticed a delay when navigating through the contacts.

I've also been in many other German forums but not yet received any answer much more useful and now I hofffe that you can help me please
I use a Galaxy S3 WanamLite 2.0. But unfortunately I have a problem with the request that you help me.
When I try to open the contacts on the Samsung does it take so four seconds before I can see the contacts. then after that when I open another application and then go to the contacts it opens instantly. Do I use the phone for quite some time no more and then unlock the screen an like my contacts back open again so it takes so four seconds.
I want to open the contact list .... this takes about 4-5 seconds to open it ... then again I do anything else with dm phone and open the contact list then it goes fast ... then I put on the phone for 30 minutes away and it goes into sleep mode ... then I wake it up again and again call on the contact list again and it takes a small eternity .... I would like to change that I do not always wait 4-5 seconds be open to the contact list is.

Having the same problem here, after que last firmware upgrade... even when I receive a call, it takes some seconds to recognize the number and show the contact picture...

My S3 phone there have been no such problems. You can go the franceyou online to learn more.

Andreas dont worry, nothing is wrong with your phone, its the samsung theme(touchwiz). i have cyanogen mod 10 which is very fast, i can asure you its fast, if you dont want to install new rom, find a new kernel to speed up your phone.
I was just using my buddy's gs3 today and his phone has original rom and yes it was slow in response.
So, there fore your phone is good, no worries. :good:
Edit: He did have alot of apps so if that is same thing with you. Factory Reset your phone by going in settings. its a hassle but it would make you happy though.

yeah mine too...pretty annoying....Im on cm9 but i found out the voice/sound is quite low compare to stock althought the contact load very quickly....those samsung guys who read this thread please do something with contact app.........

My contacts open slow
I have Galaxy S3 and I have same problem. I receive update 4.1.2 and my phone goes slow, when I was on 4.0.4 phone works perfect. Did facoty reset help my?

I had the same issue, I tried something that's worked. Go to your Google Now settings. Under Phone Search, remove 'Contacts'. That fixed it for me. The downside is that 'send text to blah blah' and 'call blah blah' won't work in Google Now. I barely used that anyway, so I can manage. Hope this helps.

solution for slow contact liste
starting have the same problem in my galaxy s3 at a cost of i descider my sim card and change hop and solved the problem .... try to change your SIM card will be resolved

I think I found a solution. Go in to contacts>Contacts to display>Customized list>uncheck everything except the google account.
My phone app and contacts app now open instantly. I think the lag was because of the samsung account.
Try and report.

I''ve the same problem. I've noticed something that may help someone figure out the problem and a possible solution. That is when I activate airplane mode the contacts list's speed becomes normal. When I deactivate airplane mode again it becomes slow again. Activating Wi-Fi or Bluetooth in airplane mode doesn't make it slow so I guess it has something to do with sim card.

I have been using an app called ExDialer.
it does everything just as good and doesn't lag.
This one cost a few bucks, maybe you can find one for free.
I personally don't mind supporting the guys.

[Q] [HELP] some issues

Ok so i have now idea what happand in the last time ..
my nex 5 woeked fine but suddenly someday it had some problems.
1. when im sending some masseges on whatsapp it doesnt send it.
2. "OK GOOGLE" doesnt work even though i rebooted the phone couple of times.
3. a few minutes ago i tried to remove my widgets and put them back again but when i presed long on the screen the bar of the "wallpapers , widgent and settings doesnt show up..
and i had some more issues but i can remember now , when it will happan ill tell
what can cause that ? please help :[
ill be thankful if someone could help me with it.

1. There could be a myriad of reasons for this. However, you say "some" messages don't send which means its likely a problem with the recipient you are trying to send to. Perhaps they don't have connectivity?
2. Language needs to be set as US English in Settings.
3. Make sure you are not using a third party launcher like Nova. You may have accidentally installed it as part of your restore. What happens when you long press on the homescreen?

1. might be but i think its an issue because when i tried to send one massege it didnt work but when i sent another one it worked. haha wired.
2. thak you very much it did work , i accidently put the UK as default lang and not the US.
3.i had nova laucher but i deleted it. it happand on the stock rom and stock launcher.. its fine now because i rebooted the phone but its still wired..
BTW : i saw that someone here open a thread and he said there that the "Despicable me" game isnt work for him and he has some lags so i downloaded this game too and the game had a little bit low frame prob. i should worry about that ?

Hmm.. a game like Despicable Me should run fine on N5. If you are experiencing any lag, then I recommend you install franco kernel

all the other gamse works fine except this one , im not playing that much in this game so its fine but ill consider to install that kernel. thanks alot [:

Phone app: in Recents calls: shows unknow outgoing calls (this makes no sense since an unknown number can not be called)
Phone app: dialer is VERY laggy; when I initiate a call, the phone will look like it is doing nothing for 5-10 seconds, then will start call. When answering a call, people on the other end cannot her me and I can't her them for about 3-5 seconds causing some to hang up before I can say anything.
Fix: Wipe Data/cache.
Photos app: pressing the left soft key, it opens a black menu.
Workaround: tap the three dots button at the top right.
FlashLight tile not present in quicksettings
Fix: Use the flash light in the camera app, the tile will appear after this
If you find other bugs, I'll add them to the list.
I would like to report these bugs to Samsung but still do not know who to contact, If anyone knows who to contact to submit bug reports, please tell me.

I set a mp3 custom ringtone too, and I do not have this issue.

I know I'm going to sound like a crazy person saying this, but in case anyone else runs into this issue: the Flashlight setting was not available anywhere for me *until* I installed a third-party flashlight app (I installed Torch since it seems to have reasonable permissions). After I installed the app, the in-system Flashlight setting showed up in Quick Settings. I am not making this up.

No problem here, which network operator??

I am on Cricket. I have an update though. After after clearing the data/cache of the dialer app and restarting, it is much better. Still a very slight bit of lag when dilaing out, but it is more than acceptable. Also, I can answer with no problem. Not sure what was hanging it up, but all is good now.

You don't sound crazy. It appeared for me eventually as well. I never downloaded a flashlight app though. I started up the video app and turned on the light while taking a video. Not too long after, it showed up. I think you just need to use it in some fashion or another and it should show up.

When I try to delete a file from my microSD card using any file explorer app that has been updated for Lollipop's new API allowing write access to the external card, I am asked to grant access permission by choosing the root folder of the external storage when the Android "picker" is displayed. But the picker only shows internal storage, not listing external storage as an option.

Thanks for the suggestion. With Lollipop, the root-based work-around this app implements is no longer needed for apps that are updated to use a new Android feature. Android 5.0 introduces a way for asking the user to grant write access to the external SD card. That's what's not working as it should. I am also trying to add this to my own app and it fails in the same way. I'm guessing this is either a problem with version 5.0 that is fixed in 5.0.1 or is only affecting the I9505G, since I haven't found anyone else noting the issue.

I am having the same problem also. When I try to move ,delete etc. a file using ES file explorer it fails every time. I get no message asking for permission to do so
either. Have tried root explorer also with same results.
Also my phone with 5.0 will not set a default ringtone. I can set one and it shows as the default but when I go to a contact that has default ringtone when I
click on it all I get is a generic low tone. I have to assign a custom ringtone to a contact for it to work when I get a call. This also happens with notification sounds.
In other words I cannot set default sounds for anything that work. Very frustrating and time consuming to have to go through every contact and program to set custom sounds for them!

I was having issues with sd card access with certain apps. It may have been because they have not been updated to use the new permission but I went ahead and did the platform.xml change and all is well again. I know it shouldn't be required, but it works.

The problem that I'm having last 2 day's is that I get a random message Simcard Removed. Phone freezes until I reboot it again. Very strange because the rom ( echoe lolipop 5.0 ) is now for almost two weeks on the S4 and worked flawlessly
Only thing I have changed , or added is the app android wear because my kids gave me a smartwatch for Christmass .

Is there any workaround for it?
Clearing Google Dialer cache/data did not solve the problem..

No workaround found so far. I'm Italian too. Could be a problem only for Italian provider?? Which provider do you have? I have 3 (H3G)

I don't own a gs4 I have a nexus but the bug is the same I was searching for someone else with this problem coz everywere I ask no one have this kind of problem I'm happy I found someoe else expecting this...
Hope someone will find a fix or a workaround,I've tried using 3rd app dialer and the bug persist...

Could you try newest Danvdh rom (23/1 build) to see if the problem has been solved?
