Another Farewell - Motorola Atrix 2

Sup guys!
I recently just got my hands on a galaxy nexus and that means I have officially moved on from the A2. I've had great time while owning the phone for over a year. Thanks to all of the devs that committed their valuable time to keeping the A2 on par with the competition (software wise). I'll drop by the forums every once in a while to see how things are going. But sadly I won't be contributing anything more (not that I contributed much while i was here ). I had a great time here and wish you all luck on your future endeavours!

To Give Thanks To All Developers

I've been a member of xda for a few years now and have never really posted anything. Just wanted to give a big THANK YOU to all developers for all you guys do. I have an HTC Thunderbolt and I can honestly say if it was not for the awesome developers that dedicate THEIR time for OUR devices my Thunderbolt would be just another phone. Again I have never posted anything so if this should be moved or whatever you guys need to do with it is fine. Otherwise I hope that others will post their thanks here as well. You guys defiantly deserve it !! Thanks again guys! cdstrings

I couldn't agree more. This is my first post at xda, so I can't post in the development forum, but I've been lurking for quite awhile. I owe a huge debt of gratitude to all of the Devs and the guys here at xda that keep this site going for the benefit of all. I have learned a ton from the Devs and the knowledgeable regulars, and while I can't pay back the regulars, I do kick the Devs some cash when I have extra. Thanks you all!

I bought my Thunderbolt the week it was released, and for me, Team Liquid has been its saving grace. If it wasn't for the seamless fluidity of Liquid Smooth 3.2 (and now Liquid ICS), I would have shattered this thing with a hammer long ago.
I know everyone is excited about ICS (as we should all be) but I'd like to give a shout out of thanks to Workshed , developer of Thundershed 1.6, which has been super stable, super smooth, and provided me with way better battery life.

Moving on to the GS3. Thanks for all the support here!!

Hi everyone,
I'd just like to say that as of today I have sold my One S and decided to move on the the GS3. Why? Mainly because I'm looking for something with a better and larger screen. And the fact that HTC doesn't give a crap about development for our phones. The crappy bootloader unlock has been pissing me off, especially since I am on hboot 1.14 and I have to test different ROMs very often, needing to flash in fastboot every time. Without S-OFF, this phone can never archive its full potential, such as repartitioning the nand so that more GBs are allocated for personal use.
But this doesn't mean that I will completely stop developing for the One S. I will continue to update the ParanoidAndroid and AOKP JellyBean until or if they become official. I can't be the official device maintainer though. But the builds will keep coming and shouldn't have any major issues other than the ones in CM10. The kernels, however, will probably remain how they are now because it is nearly impossible to blindly develop and debug a kernel.
Thanks for all the support here; it was TONS better than the Galaxy Player community. I appreciate all the helpfulness and attitude in these forums and what a great dev experience I've had here.
thanks for all your work. I want the gs3 to but can't justify the price

Thank u so much and enjoy with your new phone. But now I feel sad, because your kernel gives me sooo goood battery life and a very smooth phone... You didn't make the two cores to be online like the other kernel here.
So what will I do when the jelly bean come to my phone, and some new updates?? I won't have your kernal anymore.
Now there is only one kernel which I prefer not to touch, only because of the dual cores which are always online.
Also there is not much devs here... I don't believe we will see other kernels here.
So you bought a new phone and that's great for you... But I feel that we lost someone very important - you ;(
Anyway, thanks for your amazing work here.

Hi Klin, i've been using your kernels and they've been rock solid.
Thanks for everything that you've given to the one S community.
It's a pity that you're leaving, but oh well, no one will be using the same phone forever anyway.
I do agree with you that the half ass unlock is a deal breaker.
Good luck, and i hope you will continue to enjoy development with the GS3 community.
Cheers!

I can only echo the replies of my fellow XDA members. You are one of the best devs here and always very helpful.
I too will be moving to the Note 2 in February when myTMobile contract expires and moving to Verizon. Tired of pitiful coverage in Dayton Ohio.
Good Luck

I heard the S3 is cursed. You should probably get rid of it and get the 1S back. You know, for your own protection.
Just kidding. But seriously, please don't go :crying:

A community is a sum of the people that make it up which you have always been helpful member of. Carry that with you and people who really remember their Android roots will follow your lead (no pun intended).

from a considered veteran in this section I can tell u that as long as u put in the effort to understand, we'll help. If u don't read the stickies or search, and are lazy and expect a spoon fed response, forget about it.
its all in the way u phrase the question. If your specific and show u read and at least tried I guarantee someone will help. Don't make it general, make it specific and ALWAYZ search.

I agree, this community is awesome. I don't have enough post here to post in the development area, but have flashed just about everyone's ROM at least twice. Any problems I have can be easily solved with a quick search of the Skyrocket sub-forum.
I'm on my 6th Android device, and this is the most supportive community I've seen.
