I have explorer from about 10 months and my use is Hardcore! and i really mean that so many times Ive put my phone on charge on for 5-6 hours many times and even after being fully charged for 2-3 hours.and I think it got overcharged, everything was fine from 9 months but now Ive started to have problems with battery like, phone normally charges to 65% in less than an hour then takes 3-4hours to reach 100. Is there any way to fix it.I am facing problem which is when I charge the phone it charges very slowly but when I reboot the before reboot value of battery% is 84 and after reboot 98%,Also after some time the mV stops at 41xx but charging keeps on going
That's normal happens with me too. Try battery calibration app. May help.
Reason why battery percent increases after reboot :
When the phone is switched on, most of the power is used up by the phone & a small percentage of power is used to charge the battery. But when the phone is switched off, all of the input voltage is directly used by battery for charging. That is why battery charges up too fast.

No the battery is not charging fast in off mode. It charges pretty past upto 60-70 % after wich I get less than half speed.
Yea, its almost the same thing. I am facing it now in AOKP milestone 6 build 8. Not to worry, calibrate the battery. I was about to do it today morning, but i had to rush college. And battery was charged 90%.

Yes I charged the phone to 100% restarted and again charged to 100% to ensure then used battery calibration app to delete batterystats.bin Then charged to 1% and again charged to 100% should I do it again.
No, i suppose that is enough.
Either dont let your phone battery ever get heated up, charge it only when required. Or, start considering that your battery is misbehaving.
This may be an issue with the stock rom, try flashing some good non-battery eater rom.
The keyboard in my stock rom was mis-behaving, so i switched to custom rom & later flashed the nandroid backup of my previously made stock rom. All problem gone.

yes that 20 means i have 20 percent left, for those of you that think galilio sucks make sure you charge it right, first time up run it to it die, then charge all the way back up using the charger that came along with it(thats what i did not sure if it matters), do this a couple of time, also dont forget to wipe battery stat under recovery...
this is with 2 hours of GPS 2 hours of Tunein radio (use alot of bandwidth believe it or not)
and light texting, no calls brightness are from 40% at night to 60% at day time (running bright day apps ) live wallpaper is running. i am also running sense, htc friends stream update every 2 hours (gonna up it to 1hr to see result) htc stock is 4 hours (up it to 2hr to see result) news stream is manual (up it to 4hr to see result), i am not running advance task killer, cause i dont believe it work.
for 19 bucks and a month of wait time, its worth it for me

Yup, conditioning the battery doesn't work and doesn't do anything for Li ion batteries. Its out dated info from the days when phones used NiCad batteries. Draining your battery to empty may also render your battery unable to take a charge (the safety circuit is not always guaranteed to prevent over discharge). Discharging below 20% should be avoided.
http://batteryuniversity.com/learn/article/do_and_dont_battery_table
What power cycling does is calibrate the battery meter on the phone. It does nothing to the battery (at least nothing good). The best way to calibrate the battery meter is charge to full, then drain to 20%, repeat a couple times.

i have done a couple of full recharge cycles , but still the battery shows after some hours 100%, and when its @ 11%, or 9% it stops again a long time.
Is anykind of controller in my battery broken or all the others have the same problem with the calibration?
Same problem for me ...
The same for me, right now my phone running CM7 has said 5% left, meanwhile I've had a hour phonecall and browsed the internet at the same time, so it's not reporting the correct battery. I ordered a new battery from HTC fearing this one might be going out... I've calibrated many times, even after a reset it will say 1 or 2 more percent more then it'll drop down but then still get's stuck at one level and doesn't drop or power off.
I've got the same problem, tried different rom and radios, calibrated the battery a few times and nothings fixed it. Just like everyone else my battery will stick at a % but if i reboot it will unstick for a few % then stick again. Really annoying as i have no way of knowing how much power i have left without restarting. CurrentWidget is showing around 500mA usage constantly which means i dont even get a full day out of the battery.

No.
The Sensation's ammeter is poor, so they have to estimate the actual current.
I believe the battery monitors calculate an effective mA from dV/Dt w/ and % from voltage with capacity from calibration data...

How about doing a factory reset, reinstall the RUU, and running a couple of bat cycles before installing anything (other than XDA of course, lol). This would let you know whether the phone is a dud or not.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
It's strange. I've noticed that some (most) units get great battery life, but there's some out there that are abysmal like yours.
I'm on my 3rd One X and this one gets the best battery life of any smartphone I've ever had. I could easily go over 24 hours and get several hours of on screen time. My first unit was just as good but took it back because I dropped it. My second one was noticeably worse although not as bad as yours. If a full factory reset doesn't do it take it back for a new one.

HTC must be using different suppliers for the batteries like they are for the panels.
My Rogers unit had terrible battery life with LTE turned on with the stock RUU. (1.73 I think).
I got decent battery with LTE turned off (menu for Rogers or *#*#4636#*#* for ATT). Then I upgraded to the latest ATT RUU (1.85.502.3) and I get great battery life even with LTE installed.
So try turning off LTE for a day and/or move to the latest RUU.
Try this one. Fully charge your One X. Turn it off and put it on the shelf. Turn it back on the next day. It won't turn on. The battery will be completely DEAD. Happens every time for me on 4 different phones. Something is sucking the battery down when its OFF.

Go to settings then power and uncheck fastboot. Your device should no longer die while "being off". At default HTC settings fastboot is turned on (not adb/bootloader type fastboot) literally it doesn't actually fully power down the device so a faster boot time can be achieved.

Hi,
I´m in Cm10, Alpha 4, with topdroid´s build.prop 1.4.1 and Lolo´s v1 Kernel
I find the rom amazing, but I´m getting massive battery drain during night, in airplane mode. It drains aproximately 20%, when on GB it was only 2%
I took some screenshots to see if it helps.
I went to sleep with my phone in 56% after 8h 41m of usage.
Woke up, 34%, 19h 1 min.
During all the 19hs i only had the screen on for 40 min (really sucks)
And the phone entered deep sleep for more than 14hs (according to cpu spy app)
I was getting 2 days in GB with the same battery, but with screen on for 2:30 hs, calls for 1:30, 2g the whole day and sometimes wifi.
Can any one help me with this please?
Thanks!

Is this really true? I always charge my phone using USB cable and guess what? It lives only about 15 hours, I use it for WiFi (15 hours), browsing (5 hours), reading forums using XDA app (3 hours), listening music(2 hours), SMS, call. If you mean the battery can be used longer (can still be used after 2 years) using USB cable, then you are right because the ampere on the USB cable is smaller then the travel charger (not USB but the other one). There's no differences between USB and the travel charger except using USB cable it charge slower but make the battery survive more than 2 years. If you were right, can somebody proof it?

About the sudden drop of battery after reboot and increase without charging, it is normal for a newly flashed rom. The battery needs calibration. Give it some time. A fortnight or two, it will be back to normal. The percentage dont show real battery percent, thats why it increase without charging. It is trying to find the real percentage.

I usually flash custom roms on my device. But my device has one unusual behaviour. When I charge my device and suppose it is 70 percent charged and I reboot my device within 20-25 minutes, the battery level shows fully charged. (100 percent) After that the battery drains within 2-3 hours. Because of this I charge my device 3-4 times everyday. This happens on every custom rom I install on my device. Should I change my battery or is it the device's fault? Please help.

(100 percent) After that the battery drains within 2-3 hours. Because of this I charge my device 3-4 times everyday. This happens on every custom rom I install on my device. Should I change my battery or is it the device's fault? Please help.

the percentage increase after reboot is a htc common issue while charging
about the fast drain maybe your battery is dying or doesn't makes contact properly
check it
Thanks for providing this useful information. Do you mean using paper or something that holds the battery tight or I misunderstood something.

exactly that
use something to hold the battery and see if you still have reboots
Actually I think the paper solution won't work. He's not having reboots, just the battery is draining fast. It looks like that your battery is almost died. I think you should buy a new one. And I highly recommend Anker's one.
Thanks once again. Will try.

I didnt want to make a new topic but I have similar problem:
i switched from standart ROM to Cyanogenmod 10 nightly builds for my Sensation Pyramid (original battery, about year old).
Everything worked fine, but there is one more than annoying problem:
I charge phone to 100%, i pull charger out. If i use standard things on phone (settings, gallery etc) everything seems to work fine. As soon as I enter any applications (Twitter, Facebook, default Web Browser) it just shuts down in 20seconds or in 2/3 minutes (always some random time, i can browse web 10 seconds, it shuts down, sometimes i can do the same for a minute and then it shuts down), it doesnt reboot just shuts down.
When I turn it back on, it shows battery level ~ 9-15%. It was 100% just 3minutes ago. I charged it for hours before, so that 100% should be real. I tested with battery drain monitoring app, when i use any apps, battery drops for like 1200% every minute. Its Ok on standby mode.
When i just reboot the phone, it comes up with some random battery percentage, f.e 47%. So it can go from 100% to 7% and after reboot it goes to 47%.
I thought it might be a ROM problem, so I installed this albinoman887 ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2115520
Did factory reset, cleared cache, phone was 100% charged. But the same problem.
I dont thin its battery problem, because it was OK with stock ROM. Is there anything i can try to fix this problem without going back to stock ROM (or other Sense based ROM)?

Really no advice on this?
Im not so good with Kernels etc., but my guess is- maybe this has something to do with CPU usage? I checked with CPU Spy app, it says Internet explorer, other apps use 1566MHz. Isn't that too much?
